L’Occitane Free Gift Worth RM50

Here comes another bad experience story.

On Tuesday (1st Nov) I redeemed mine at Mid Valley but sadly I was rude treated by one of the promoter. The promoter asked if I’d like to browse around and I asked politely when is the event ending. I told her that I just dropped by for 5 mins while on the way to meet a client and I’d drop by again in another 2 days. Her face immediately turn sour and she just put the gift on the table and went off leaving me filling up the form alone. After I’m done filling the form I was standing there waiting for someone to come over but none of them bothered. I asked the girl if I should leave the form there and she didn’t even bother to turn her back and answer me. The rest just stood from far looking. That was rude!! IMHO the promoter should either hand me the gift with a thank you (even if it’s redemption) or she can explain to me what is the gift and how to use. L’Occitane humiliated me and I felt disgusted. I’m never going to step my foot to L’Occitane again. Nevertheless MWW and L’Occitane has done a good with such a good promo and sampling exercise.

I logged a complain at MWW Facebook fan page upon returning to office and the person in charge attended to my complain immediately. They actually informed L’Occitane and needed my email address to follow up as L’Occitane took this matter very seriously. I’m not gonna make this anymore worse than it already has been so I informed MWW that there’s no need to do any follow up as my intention is to make alert to MWW and L’Occitane only. Then there’s a missed call yesterday evening. I called back and found out that it’s L’Occitane HQ that was calling me. I didn’t know who is the person that called and it’s already 6pm so I put down the phone.

I’m disappointed somehow with some of the so-called “branded” brand store/counter/boutique that always treat me as if I can’t afford to buy anything. I’m always dressed up nicely with full makeup on and in pump heels but yet I’m always portrayed as “can’t afford” shopper. In fact I’m the one who bought more than anyone else. I’m getting more and more fed-up with this kind of treatment.

Nevertheless I love Malaysian Women’s Weekly magazine very much.

  • Oh my gosh so rude! Glad you complained! Last year i bought 2 products from Loccitane One Utama with a discount coupon and though they were prompt, they asked a really silly question. Do you want a paper bag with this? I was actually getting it as a gift for a friend,so a bag would be great but since she asked that question i declined. I mean if i had paid the full price she would have automatically put it in a nice paper bag for me without hesitation right?

Another time i went and bought a Verdane body cream for RM 100. As i was undecided which to buy, the salesgirl actually got impatient after 5 minutes and sort of encouraged me to just faster buy one as her eyes wander to the old tai tais walking in.

Loccitane definitely has the worst sales people for a rather expensive product. In fact even Watson’s sales people beat them hands down.

  • Yes dear. Very rude. I felt as if I’m a beggar as they refuse to entertain me. Imagine being given something but they just put on the table and walked away. I don’t know how to explain that kinda feeling but it’s definitely very weird. Worse redemption ever. You’re right. Even the staff at Watsons are much more better. If I were to compare L’Occitane with Crabtree & Evelyn, C&E win them anytime. Regardless if you purchase with a discount coupon or not they should give you a paper bag! So disappointing.

I went to The Body Shop the other day and the SA said “thank you” when handing me my credit card back and wished me “a very good day ahead and enjoy your scrub” when I’m leaving the shop.

Not going to step foot or spend a cent in these kinda shop.
