Burberry Contest Event Giveaway

Burberry Beauty Autumn/Winter 2012 Runway Look

Burberry Beauty has always been a brand which I’m interested with everytime I do my beauty rounding at Isetan KLCC on weekends. I have a mini wish list on stuff that I wanted to get from Burberry Beauty thanks to all the temptations from Google. So when I was invited for a one-on-one consultation on the new Autumn/Winter 2012 collection with Adrian Sin last weekend, I jumped right on the opportunity. I foresee that I’m going to break my “0” shopping month.

Burberry Beauty had an outpost promotion at Ampang Skylight (GF) Suria KLCC last weekend until 1st November 2012. That’s also where I’d be having my makeover.

When I found out I’d be having a makeover by Adrian prior before I knew it’s gonna be a lot of fun. Just look at how both of us laughing away right before he removed the powder I had on. Jazz Reen (who invited me) helped me to take pictures of the makeover. I still remember how Adrian kept saying “okay I’m going to remove your makeup now” to me. He knew I wasn’t confident without my powder on :P.

Introducing new shades which are inspired by English countryside hues, Burberry Beauty Autumn/Winter 2012 collection is all about effortless elegant look referencing the mood of the Burberry Prorsum Autumn/Winter 2012 runway collection.

Here we go. Bare face.

After putting on some moisturizer Adrian applied Fresh Glow (Luminous Fluid Base) – RM165 for 30ml on the half of my face.

Reason being is that we want to see the before and after hence Adrian prefer to work on half of the face before moving to the other half.

My left face is more even and luminous than the right side isn’t it? I can see some glow too.

After we’re done comparing the before and after, Adrian proceed with the other half of my face with Fresh Glow.

Next up is liquid foundation. The newest edition to Burberry Skin collection is NEW! Velvet Foundation (Fluid Foundation) – RM175 for 30ml.

Velvet Foundation is a long-lasting foundation that gives the skin a matte, sofft velvety finish. As the texture is a combination of lightweight and breathable, it provides a lasting hydration thus the skin will feel supple and protected from bad elements.

Before we start Adrian is going to do a color match for me.

He swatched Trench No. 201 – 203 on the lower chin to find the closest color to my neck.

I was matched to Trench No. 201 and Adrian proceed with applying of Velvet Foundation on my face with a foundation brush.

The finishing is really nice. I like the coverage of it. It covered all my red spots and marks! I have combination skin and I’m loving the matte finishing.

I guess I had some dark circle due to lack of sleep lately. This is Sheer Concealer (Luminous Concealer) – RM110 for 2.5ml for the under eyes. It’s actually an automatic concealer pen.

Instead of using finger to dab on, Adrian uses a brush to lightly dab and brush onto my under eyes.

Here’s the finishing look after base, liquid foundation and concealer 🙂

Effortless elegant look is looking beautiful effortlessly without heavy makeup. Adrian said he will only lightly dust some Sheer Powder (Luminous Pressed Powder) – RM185 for 10g on my face especially T-zone area since I’m combination skin. I wasn’t used to the word “lightly dust” cause I’m always heavy handed and generous with powder so I kept asking “Are you sure? Just lightly?” lol!!

Then it’s the blusher. Instead of the usual pinkish or coral blusher, this time Adrian used Light Glow (Natural Blush) – RM140 for 7g in Earthy Blush No. 07 to contour my cheeks. Not too much. Just a hint of the color will do.

Autumn/Winter 2012 collection also include three new eyeshadow shade to Burberry Eye collection for a effortless smokey eyes with rich velvety brown shades.
Sheer Eyeshadow –  NEW! Porcelain White No. 25, NEW! Mulberry No. 24 and NEW! Dark Sable No. 23. Each eyeshadow is retailing for RM105 for 2.5g.

Use Eye Definer (Eye Shaping Pencil) – RM78 for 1.36g in Midnight Brown No. 02 to the upper and lower lash line. Then Adrian use Eye Brush Definition Liner No. 10 to blend and intensify before applying eye shadow.

Apply Sheer Eyeshadow in Dark Sable No. 23 along the eye socket. Use Socket Line Brush No. 09 to blend.

Lastly apply Sheer Eyeshadow in Mulberry No. 24 to line the under eye and Porcelain White No. 25 to below eye brow as highlight.

Next Adrian curl my eye lashes part by part before applying Effortless Mascara (Volumising Enhancer) – RM108 for 4.5g in Midnight Black No. 01 to upper and lower lashes.

According to Adrian, Burberry Beauty doesn’t have any eye brow pencil therefore he’d be using Sheer Eyeshadow in Dark Sable No. 23 to shape my brow. As impressed as I am with Adrian’s blending skill…he’s also good with eye brow!

Aaaandd we’re done! With the left eye haha.

Adrian repeated the whole process with my right eye.

As for the lips, firstly Adrian use Lip Definer (Lip Shaping Pencil) – RM75 for 1.36g to line my lips.

This collection also include two new Lip Cover shade which is NEW! Lip Cover Mocha Glow No. 31 and Lip Cover Sepia Pink No. 32.

Instead of applying the lipstick like normal, simply dab Lip Cover (Soft Satin Lipstick) – RM96 for 3.8g in Sepia Pink No. 32 on the lips.

Finish the look with a layer of Lip Glow (Natural Lip Gloss) – RM89 for 6ml. The gloss doesn’t feel heavy and sticky on my lips the whole day after the makeover. I didn’t even realize that I had lip gloss on. It’s also natural looking too.

For real this time…here’s the runway look that Adrian created for me using the latest Autumn/Winter 2012 collection. I don’t normally wear dark brown eye shadow but after the makeover I changed my mind.

What do you think of my effortless elegant look? I love it!

After that I proceeded to the photo booth for a complimentary portrait. Initially I didn’t want to as I’m not photogenic but after some persuasion I went for it.

Burberry Beauty makeup collection are a must to check out if you’re roaming around Suria KLCC. The quality of the products are assured. And let’s not forget about the packaging and the iconic Burberry trench and tartan print that are recognized all over the world.

Gift With Purchase offered especially for the promotion when you spend RM500 and above. There’s a full size limited edition makeup remover included too. I’m actually eyeing on the limited edition cube that’s suitable for eye, lips and cheek.

Picture time! Both me and Jazz Reen practically roamed all 4 sides of the backdrop haha.

Here’s a picture of Jazz Reen and I. She’s adorable 🙂

Adrian and Jazz Reen requested that I posted the picture of my portrait. I suggested to take a picture of me with my own portrait. Good idea right?

I didn’t leave empty handed. I finally bought two item that I wanted very much; a blusher and a compact foundation.
Light Glow (Natural Blush) Peony Blush No. 04 – RM140 and Sheer Compact Foundation #Trench No. 01 – RM180.

      • Is the lip gloss part of the collection? Also, what’s the secret to not having a dark spot after breakout? T_T

        Reply
        • The lip gloss is not the new collection. It’s already in the permanent range 🙂

I think all breakout will give you dark spots though. For me I used Clarins Intensive Whitening Soothing Serum to lighten the spots.

          • Ah. Ok. How to stay away from shopping when I keep seeing goodies popping up here at your blog? Is Fresh Glow part of the new collection? I like it because it brightens up the face.

            Now googling for the serum.

          • Guilty as charged! 😀

Can’t help it. I love to explore and bringing new brands to the bloggie.

Fresh Glow is a few months old baby. I’ll edit the post again so that you’ll know which is Autumn/Winter 2012 collection

          • Lip gloss is still high on my list. I have yet the proper time to actually look around and get one that I really like. As with skincare products, I’ve been thinking to change my eye cream and moisturizer. My skin is somewhat immune towards the current ones. I notice that the air cond at home is treating my skin better than the office air cond. LOL. Very random, I know but seriously, fine lines around my eyes makes its appearance when I started working for this company. Sob. I am at loss because I’ve been trying different eye creams (ever since I started working here) and none seem to help.

          • Ahh then try Burberry one. Doesn’t feel like you had lip gloss on.

Is EA capsule not working? Eye cream is an expensive product to invest to try.

          • I somewhat found the lip gloss that I want but I don’t remember whether it’s Chanel or CD because I was in a hurry. I only remember the codes, lol. EA serum is working fine. But the fine lines around my eyes, really OMG and bugging me. I don’t smile and laugh that often now. It’s just horrible. Those that used to work for me don’t anymore. I drink lots of water, apply eye serum and eye cream religiously. What am I doing wrong, I also don’t know. Sigh.

          • No worries. Everyone had that lines around the eyes. I see youngsters nowadays have it too.

          • I guess I’ll just have to continue to look and try other eye creams. Btw, I like your pics for this post – you look the same (real life and pics). The person who took your pics got the right angle 🙂

          • Awww ugly me then :(. But the end look I need to camwhore myself as I’m not satisfied with what was taken earlier haha. Camwhore with a huge mirror in front is much more easier.

You’re not participating in the makeover giveaway?

          • Usually, you take pics yourself. Kinda hard to find the right angle. I know I look photogenic if the pic is taken at the right angle. Taking pic of myself, epic fail. You are pretty in real life 🙂

Going to participate when I know which one is from the new collection. Lol.

          • Exactly.

I think should be visible now as I’ve put NEW! in bold and red for you lolololol

          • Oh thank you so much Fiona 🙂 I like Sheer Eyeshadow the most. It’s elegant and timeless, not to mention natural looking.

  • I have my eye on Burberry eyeshadow (mulberry). They looked so pretty and it will add on to my collection of neutral eyeshadows. 🙂

      • How old are you, Erin? I have breakouts when I am under stress or when I use the UNSUITABLE skincare products. Eye bags is like an on and off thing for me. EA serum is working fine for me, but it would be better for you to clear your allergy before you try something new on your face. I read that some people suffer from breakouts after using EA serum. So if you are using it for the first time, just 1/2 capsule will do for the whole face.

        • yeah, thanks.i am in my late 20.hahaha. waiting for the allergyto clear.T_T. luckly i wore glasses, so it can cover my terrible eyes.lol. me too, breakout if i use wrong products.thanks for the help.will hopefully try it out.

          • No problem. As with EA eye serum, use it sparingly although the BA told me that it won’t cause oil seeds. It actually prevents it from forming O.o so I have no idea. I’m back to EA eye serum again because I can’t stand the fine lines around my eye areas. Ugh. Hope your allergy clears soon.

          • EA eye serum not bad. Disappear in the skin in no time. However I can’t stand the face serum. Help!

          • Later I try to smell the face serum. Lol. I’ve tried many face serums for hydrating purpose, and I find EA face serum is the winner for now. My skin loves it. So happy me. The scent, I smell it later after shower. Will update.

          • Ewwww. Smelly serum 😛

          • There’s a faint scent, not smelly. Lol. Bf commented this “Yeah, it smells slightly fishy”. I was O.o because I didn’t see that coming. LOL. Usually, it’s hard to get him to comment on skincare products. This time, it was spontaneous.

  • love the Sheer Luminous Pressed Powder!!
    great post! <3

  • so nice for you of having this giveaway. the foundation seem to work great on you. coverage good. but is this as good as the RMK one? hahaha I remember that you are so in-love with the RMK foundation

    • RMK Liquid Foundation gives the skin a “dewy” look with decent coverage. Burberry Beauty Velvet Foundation gives a velvetly matte finishing with medium to full coverage. Both works well on my skin 🙂

  • What does dewy complexion mean? Matte, I get it but dewy?

    Reply
    • Dewy complexion is a moisturize, refreshing look. Japanese makeup all gives a dewy look. They’re not into matte finishing look.

      • For starter, most Japanese and Koreans have beautiful skin (i.e. already dewy without makeup). The makeup further enhances their beautiful skin. Is it possible to achieve both? I am going back to your FF post where EA serum is there.

        • Achieve what both Angelina?

          Reply
          • Eek. I didn’t post the result after using EA serum. Is it possible to achieve a dewy yet matte look?

          • Can. Matte at the beginning then dewy after that when your skin starts to oil up a bit.

  • Actually i wish to try all cosmetic products of Burberry Beauty Autumn/Winter 2012 *greedy*
But since i can only choose one, i would say the Burberry Beauty Velvet Foundation caught my eyes most…Probably you might think i am a superficial person, but i like the bottle of the foundation very much,as much as i think the liquid foundation inside will be as nice as the trench-coat like bottle… =)
