Body - Shower Oil L'Occitane Review: Bath / Body

Review: A Luxurious Way of Pampering in the Shower with L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil

“What is that you’re using? Smell so nice!”. That is the exact word from my mum everytime I stepped out of shower after using L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. As I have too many products in the bathroom, my mum doesn’t know which is THE ONE that smell this good.

I only use a few product from L’Occitane namely Foot Cream, Repairing Shampoo + Conditioner, Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap, Almond Shower Scrub and my favorite – Almond Shower Oil which I will repurchase again and again. It is so good that pampering will never be complete without it.

I purchased Almond Shower Oil for RM95 back in July. It only comes in one size which is 250ml. Sometimes you can spot the refill pack of 500ml or sometimes if you’re lucky 500ml bottle with pump.

What L’Occitane claimed is Almond Shower Oil will transforms into a lavish, softening foam that gently cleanses, leaving a satiny softness all over the body. It is rich in Almond oil and nourishing lipids. This shower oil can also be used for shaving, allowing the razor to glide smoothly over the skin. This international customer favorite, which leaves behind a delectable scent, is suitable for both men and women.

This 250ml of Almond Shower Oil is in a plastic bottle with a push cap. Although I have no problem at all dispensing with this type of bottle but I still prefer if it comes with a pump. More convenient I would say.

I’m quite heavy-handed. I kept on pouring and pouring as this smells so darn good!

At first I thought to myself how am I suppose to bath with “oil” not knowing what this does exactly. Then I tried this in store. Apply this on it’s own and it’s really just an oil. Once in contact with water it turns to a soft, milky texture. I was sold. That’s why I came home with some haha.

As mentioned earlier, once in contact with water it turns to a soft, milky texture. However this doesn’t foams up like shower gel. Some of you might be thinking how are you suppose to use this right? Easy. Just bath as usual. Although it doesn’t foams up it is really smooth that you will not have any problem spreading the oil on your wet skin. My advise is to make sure your skin is completely wet before applying this on the body.

I’m generous when it comes to pampering in the shower with Almond Shower Oil. Normally I lather the oil really well and long before rinsing. It’s so good that I wouldn’t wanna rinse it off if I can! I don’t use it everyday though. If I do I doubt 250ml will last me even 2 weeks judging from the amount I used each time. I tried to cut down to twice a week.

My skin is tremendously soft and smooth to touch after shower. The scent lingers on the surface of my skin till the next morning (I’m using this at night usually). The key ingredient is Almond Tree, Grape Vine and Rosemary. The almond tree is a symbol of hope. Almond oil, with excellent softening properties is one of the oldest beauty treatments in the world. A rosemary infusion in baths has an overall invigorating effect.

I cannot imagine not having L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil as a part of my pampering in the shower. I can skip skin care and make up once in a while but not these type of pampering. A good relaxing shower always makes me happy and fresh again. A 250ml bottle could last you for a month or two or three depending how much and how often you use it.

  • 200ml lasts for a week plus, max 2 weeks for me. I have this at home too but stopped using it because it got into my eye before and it stung like hell (I thought I was going blind). Even if I used it, it is once in a blue moon, and with my eyes closed.

    • This is not for face babe LOL. How did it get into the eyes?

  • I was lathering it up, and the next thing I knew, the shower oil was in my eye, and I kept rinsing my eye with water. That lasted for 15 mins+ because it is oil. Ended up with red eye for the rest of the day, not to mention dryness. Now when I use it, I close my eyes. Doesn’t matter whether I am lathering it up or washing it off, I close my eyes. Lol.

    • Hi Linda, I got to agree with you. I love L’Occitane too but it’s so expensive. I’m not so ready to splurge on body care comparing to face. Actually I do have a honest and reliable online store. My usual eBay seller is Jenny and coincidentally she listed a superbly good L’Occitane set http://www.ebay.com.my/itm/LOccitane-Almond-Shower-Oil-250ml-x-2-/370824990460?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_207&hash=item5656e44efc&_uhb=1#ht_659wt_1141

Alternatively you can view everything she sells at this link http://www.ebay.com.my/sch/jjj*2008/m.html?_uhb=1&hash=item5656e44efc&item=370824990460&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_207&rt=nc&_trksid=p4340.l2562

If you plan to make a purchase, do it before 15th June as she is moving to another country soon.

Let me know if you need any help 😀
