Ahhh Bag Of Love. It is one of the most talked about beauty box bag subscription service locally here in Malaysia. It is also one of the subscription service that has been keeping up month by month since the beauty bag started it’s operation back in March 2013.
If you are a Bag Of Love regular subscriber or follower, you are well aware that their unique selling point is that they don’t use boxes to send out their beauty samples. Instead they came out with different type and design of pouch every month, thus creating some sort of cult follower. While I may not be a person that like to collect pouches however I am amazed with Bag of Love’s pouch design every single month. Since October bag coincide with Halloween Day, Bag Of Love took this opportunity to came out with a Halloween theme beauty bag.
There are 3-full size product included in Bag Of Love “Say Boo!” October 2013 Edition. The full size product that got everyone screaming their lungs out at is the Full Size Nanowhite Infinity Color Correction Cream SPF50 PA+++ 30ml worth RM49.90. Not me :). I admit that I do have a soft spot for CC Cream but this will be the second reason on why I subscribed for this bag. BB Cream and I don’t get along very well but not CC Cream. It fares well on my oily skin so I would light up whenever I see CC Cream. The shade that I was given is Natural Beige. Judging from the shade’s name I suppose it will match to my skin but I would prefer Light Beige as I like my base makeup to be a shade or two lighter. The oil secretion by mid day will definitely oxidize the shade to darker shade. Will see how this is for me 😉
Now comes the product that drives the subscription force in me. Definite Smudger Brush worth RM69. I’ve been collecting all Definite brush from Bag Of Love and when I saw the teaser on Facebook on a brush in the bag, I was sold. I was also waiting for eyeshadow brush and my wish came true this time. Well, half of it as I was thinking about eyeshadow brush, not smudger brush lol. However I was also in the search of a good crease brush and I finally bought one at Luxola. When I received that brush and this brush too came along, I now have two crease brush!
Definite Smudger Brush is not a crease brush. It is a brush to apply liner, eyeshadow, smudging pencil liner or even as a brush to highlight the tip of the inner corner of the eyes. I’m just going to use this as crease brush as the brush shape is quite similar to what I need.
The third full size product included in Bag Of Love “Say Boo!” October 2013 Edition is Splassh Mini Glow In The Dark Nail Polish 7.5ml worth RM3.90. I saw some received a pink or baby blue and I was given my most hated color of all – neon green =.=”! The instruction on the card said to apply 3-layers after base coat and turn of the lights for the glow to work. I’ve read that the glowing part doesn’t work immediately. It takes some time before it starts glowing.
Overall there is 3-full size and 3-deluxe size products in Bag Of Love “Say Boo!” October 2013 Edition. I think that’s a pretty good and healthy combination. Now let’s take a look on the deluxe sizes.
Collistar Biorevitalizing Anti-Cellulite Concentrate 30ml worth RM27.75 is marketed as an absolutely avant-garde anti-cellulite treatment inspired by two advanced techniques in cosmetic medicine – mesotherapy and biorevitalization. This product is made in Italy mind you. It is said to tone and give vitality as well as compactness to the body. Wow. That sounds techy lol. I’m so lazy when it comes to body care. I still have a huge bottle of unused Clarins Body Lift Cellulite Control at home screaming for some love. I spend time on my face and hair but neglecting my body. Nonetheless it is pleasant to see this popping out in beauty bag or box 😀
This duo is definitely not a stranger in beauty box here. Previously I received quite a few of these and I was actually glad that they stop making cameo. Now it’s back!
Wella System Professional Repair Shampoo 30ml worth RM8.64 and Wella System Professional Smoothen Mask 30ml worth RM16.35. Both product has different function. The shampoo is meant to intensively repair damaged hair while the conditioner is to control unruly hair. Usually this is the exact same duo I received.
There is also a Jojoba Spa RM100 discount voucher in Bag Of Love “Say Boo!” October 2013 Edition. This voucher is for chocolate spa treatment that is meant for a 75 minutes of chocolate body scrub, shower, aromatherapy massage, aroma eye pillow treatment and ginger tea. All worth RM99++ per pax. I won’t be going for this so whoever wants it do mention in the comment box ;).
What I Like
Just a few days ago only that I found out from MiMi that Bag Of Love’s philosophy is “no sachet” in the bag so I can be assure that I will receive sample size at minimum. While many subscribe because of the different pouch design every month, I personally subscribe for the product in it. My major love for Bag Of Love is definitely the Definite brushes that pops out once in a while. It’s not always you can get full size brush in a beauty box or bag. So far the full size in the bag has been interesting and it sure did hit my soft spot this month with the appearance of a full size CC Cream.
I’m also liking Taq-Q-Bin courier delivery. So much better than Airpak! No wait…it’s one million times better than Airpak.
What I Don’t Like
Bag Of Love doesn’t send out all their bags one short. They separate it into 2 delivery. For some reason my parcel is always on the 2nd delivery and I don’t like that. I can do once in a while but not every month. It’s nerve wrecking you know.
Conclusion
What else can I say. So far I’ve been liking what I’ve been receiving. Of course there might be one or two product that I might not be using but you will agree with me that it’s quite a good subscription for RM39.90 only. I’m still beaming with smile on the CC Cream although I have yet to break into it hehe.
Teaser for November 2013 Edition
Now here’s a teaser for you Bag Of Love fans. I can’t reveal the products in November 2013 edition BUT I can tell you it’s way beyond what other beauty box has been doing or even beyond your wildest imagination. Trust me when I said you would not want to miss the November bag. But do take my teaser with a grain of salt. What is great for me doesn’t necessary mean it will be a great one for you. I personally have subscribed FOUR of it. I never subscribe four box or bags before but I kinda like the content of it so I bought extra for gifting purposes :D. Just wait for MiMi’s teaser k?

I’ve been going back and forth, back and forth whether I should pick up a subscription to Bag of Love but I haven’t convinced myself yet! I’m STILL having trouble using up all my sample products. O_o I’ve figured the reason why I’m using so slowly. I don’t like to mix brands that I’m using for the first time, it’s a habit since I have sensitive skin so if something doesn’t work, I’d like to know what it is, rather than guessing which out of the few new brands I’m using. So if I’m using Brand A moisturiser, I won’t be using Brand B serum together with it. 😛
Hmmm for me yes it is :). It’s going to be a mix everything :P.
It is actually a good practice not to mix brands as the product are designed to work it’s best with each other but at the same time it’s no harm at all to mix Brand A serum with Brand B moisturizer ;). Sensitive skin is a bit tricky. Got to be careful with the products you apply so it’s totally understandable to be cautious like you did 🙂
