Dolce&Gabbana Intense Eau de Parfum – A Spicy, Rich, Sensual and Powerful Scent for Women

Dolce & Gabbana Intense 1

Dolce&Gabbana first launched Pour Femme, the classic fragrance that embodied in scent the harmonies and contrasts at the heart of the Dolce&Gabbana DNA not too long ago, just a year ago back in 2012. Here’s a fun fact. Pour Femme represent the traditional, the contemporary, the passionate, the maternal, the spiritual and the sensual that is unmistakably Dolce&Gabbana.

A year later, today in 2013 Dolce&Gabbana launched an intensified version of the original Pour Femme which was named Dolce&Gabbana Intense. The birth of the new Dolce&Gabbana Intense came when Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana wanted to showcase D&G DNA values in their most potent form.

Inspiration

Dolce&Gabbana Intense was inspired by the richness and depth of signature Eau de Parfums of the past. Intense is a heady celebration of the power of scent to evoke, to incite and to command.

The Packaging

Before I go deeper into the scent description, there is something unique about the box itself. Dolce&Gabbana Intense outer box packaging is the most luxurious I have ever seen. It’s definitely unique and is said to juxtaposes sensual opulence with intimate spirituality. As you can clearly see, the box is wrapped in regal dark velvet packaging. Even soft to the touch. The inspiration came from the sumptuous velvet drapery once used to adorn the interiors of palaces in Sicily.

The Bottle

The bottle is square, made with richly coloured, almost opaque burgundy glass, this is the favourite hue of the atelier. One thing I applaud is the shiny surface that you find on every other fragrance in the market but this Dolce&Gabbana Intense is different. My finger print doesn’t stay on the glass surface and the surface remain clean that I was able to grip the bottle on my hand nicely thanks to it’s bottle design that are statuesque with elegant shoulders that form precise angles.

On the bottle’s striking silhouette features a solid gold collar and burgundy cap. The cap closed down with proper alignment due to the marking made on the inner cap that synchronise harmoniously with the gold collar.

I had a hard time myself describing the scent of Dolce&Gabbana Intense. On my very first spray, my nose detected this strong spicy scent. It gives me this perception of someone powerful. Dolce&Gabbana described the scent of Intense to be a strong alchemy of refined and powerfully addictive contrasts, which is exactly what I feel on my first time. My guts told me that it was the top note that I was picking.

As the spiciness scent dries down, I get a hint of floral scent. Dolce&Gabbana Intense is infused with Neroli and Green Mandarin to yield to the rich opulence and intriguing contrast of two noble white flowers, Orange Blossom and Tuberose. The creamy and enveloping qualities of the Orange Flower plays alongside the deep voracious trail of Tuberose, giving an intense full-bodied feminine signature to the fragrance, that turns-heads and intrigues. Middle note was more feminine thanks to the floral ingredient. As it dries down further, one would feel more embraced to the sensual side.

Sandal Wood is often present as the Base Note in most floral fragrance. This gives the wearer the sensual musky feeling that comes like the final surrender. It blend irresistibly well with the creamy addiction of the Guivmauve.

Dolce&Gabbana Intense is surprisingly not as strong as I think it is, although it is EDP which is said to be more stronger and longer lasting. I can mist this 4 times on me and I experience no dizziness or headache. Instead, it gave me an empowerment feeling that I feel is quite unique. The floral scent is not your typical floral scent. On me it’s more spicy and sensual. This is definitely something different from what I used to wear but so far I’m embracing the confident and powerful feeling the fragrance gave me. I’ve been wearing this scent for 2 weeks straight, especially liking this to work as it gave me confident. Most floral fragrance like to pair with fruity ingredient thus the sweetness in the scent but not this Dolce&Gabbana Intense.
