What thing? Things I wish I knew before splurging on Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects!
It’s also partly my fault because I love coffee and those indulgence stained my teeth badly that it’s becoming more and more yellowish so I didn’t really read properly all the reviews online. I’ve actually heard about Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects for several years now and I have even introduced my friend into purchasing it but never purchase a box for myself. Three weeks ago I finally went ahead and make my first purchase on the highly raved Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects.
Just so you want to know, there is no Crest available retail locally here in Malaysia. I bought mine from an online store seller who is also the same seller I introduced my friends to. Actually there are several online store seller with different price and package. I usually went for the one with more positive feedback or sales. The same seller happened to have the lowest price of all. And the best part is she’s giving away a travel size Crest 3D White Luxe Glamorous White Toothpaste 😀
There are a few types of Crest 3D White Whitestrips available. The seller who I bought from only have two. The Professional Effects version comes with whitening power of level 4 and the Intensive Professional Effects comes with whitening power of level 5. I’ve decided to get Professional Effects as it’s cheaper and I heard this is already enough to whiten coffee stains.
Each box of Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects is sealed and comes with 20 whitening treatments together with a product information leaflet. I really do highly suggest you to read it thoroughly before starting the treatment if you ever do buy a box. It contain all the important information and FAQ that you need to know should you run into any issue with the treatment.
Each treatment is sealed separately and each packet contain two strips – one upper and one lower strip. The lower one is shorter compared with the upper strip. This newer version of Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects now comes with Advanced Seal No Slip Technology. I have no tried the older version so I can’t compare both version but I do know this Advanced Seal technology provides a form fit, no slip grip that is able to mold itself and adhere onto the teeth better in order for the whitening to work. This means you can even drink water while wearing Crest 3D White Whitestrips Professional Effects 🙂
The instruction stated to apply the lower strip first. The strip is clear and feels like a gel-ish cellophane tape. After my first treatment I went online for reviews and there’s this Youtuber that suggest to place the strip lightly on the row of teeth first, press onto each and every tooth firmly, make sure the strip goes into the edges as well and then only fold the extra to the back. I do also suggest you to put the strip further down the teeth length to make sure every part of the teeth is covered. You wouldn’t want half of your teeth white and half yellow right? 😀 . It is okay for the strip to touch the gum. Repeat the same for the upper strip. Each treatment is only 30 minutes. Not more than that.
Let me warn you a few things after that. You will definitely taste the whitening substance named as Peroxide, the same enamel safe ingredient dentists use for tooth whitening. In fact your saliva production increases due to natural reaction between the saliva and the hydrogen peroxide on the whitestrips. Not only that, there will be foams forming inside the strips as well. I was so paranoid that I don’t even dare to swallow my own saliva. But the production of saliva increased tremendously that I have no choice but to just swallow it. It taste horrible. I’m not kidding. Everytime I’m on the treatment I feel nauseas.
On my first treatment, my teeth felt slightly pressured that it hurts a bit. It’s not painful but really uncomfortable. It also stings a bit. 30 minutes felt like eternal. Once I’ve removed the strips, I notice white spots on my teeth and the information on the leaflet said it’s normal. These spots are temporary and it’s true. The white spots are gone after that. My advise is to press the strip evenly and firmly onto each tooth and you will not get the white spots.
Removing the strips off can be a little bit awful due to all the foams and sticky gel. It is not recommended to brush your teeth before treatment so usually I will rinse with plain water. However it is okay to brush teeth after removing the strip but I don’t recommend that. Teeth can be very sensitive after treatment.
Here’s another downside. For some reason I cannot use the treatment every day because my teeth are super sensitive after each treatment. It is okay to gap the treatment so I only use it every two days. These teeth sensitivity is really annoying and uncomfortable especially on the same day. Usually it’s gone the next day.
It’s hard for me to capture the Before and After due to the natural sun difference on both days but my teeth is really more white and the color is more even now. The difference is especially visible on everyday photos I took. Anyway here is the result after just six treatment. I only plan to use for seven days and keep the balance for future use. The result really depends on your teeth condition. Some takes a longer time while some are just lucky. I think if it’s just coffee stain, 10 treatments should do the trick. I feel that it’s entirely up to you on how white you want you teeth to be. I don’t want my teeth to be pure white because that will not look natural. I still think a little bit of yellow is okay 🙂
I don’t regret buying this and I’m kicking myself right now for taking so long. This doesn’t come cheap. A box is priced at RM155 but it’s totally worth it. Do bear in mind this is not permanent whitening. You teeth WILL turn yellowish after a period of time, which is quite normal. However like I said, you can use half box and keep the remaining half for future use. Which is exactly what I’m doing now 🙂 . I can drink coffee with a piece of mind now because I know I can get rid of the stain later on.
