Hair Care - Shampoo & Conditioner Pantene Review: Hair Care

Pantene Pro-V Total Damage Care Shampoo & Conditioner: Reformulated with Keratin Damage Blocker Technology

Experts at Pantene Hair Research Institute (PHRI) discovered that excessive oxidative minerals build-up in the hair can cause damaging effects on hair health. These oxidative minerals would amplify free radicals production, which can cause fracture, erosion of proteins and weakening hair over time. The most common factors that contributed to dull and lifeless hair is none other that what all of us here in Malaysia are experiencing – heat and humidity. That’s not all. Minerals naturally present in water can also have a detrimental effect on the protein structure of hair aka protein.

I remember my hair stylist once told me that physically I looked like I have beautiful healthy hair but in real fact my hair is actually lifeless, empty on the inside. Let’s see if Pantene’s reformulated Pro-V shampoo and conditioner could help 🙂

Pantene Pro-V
Pantene’s Keratin Damage Blocker (KDB) Technology are now reformulated into Pantene Pro-V haircare range of shampoo such as Color & Perm Lasting Care, Daily Moisture Repair, Hair Fall Control and Total Damage Care. What KDB Technology do is to target, capture and help to neutralize excessive oxidative minerals present in the hair. Damage Blockers help to prevent the formation by reducing excessive levels of minerals instead of just waiting for free radicals to be produced before attacking them. Pantene is actually the first global brand that are designed to prevent hair protein erosion by minimizing mineral accumulation.

Pro-V Total Damage Care 10 Shampoo & Conditioner

Pantene Pro-V Total Damage Care Shampoo
I gotta say, the one thing that I’m addicted to is the scent. The scent lingers on till the next day. It cleans well without the need to use a large amount of shampoo even with my hair length. However as I said to the PR agency, my scalp condition is a combination of sensitive with dry flakes at the same time, oily by mid day, itchy and dandruff. It is so tricky and sensitive that I dare not move away from my current hair care. Just as I expected, my scalp went haywire after the first use. But it was all good again after I stop using and alternate between my sensitive hair care range with dandruff range. Eventhough so, I still use Pro-V Total Damage Care thrice a week because I do like the scent of it. The trick to that is to alternate the usage, not continuous use. As my scalp could get oily very fast, I try to cut the amount of shampoo I use but my hair is still a bit limp on oily scalp the next day.

With the continuous use of Pro-V range, mineral-induced oxidative stress declines and hair’s proteins will be better preserved. Over time, hair condition will improve. It’s a pity I can’t use this everyday but what I do notice is that I’m consistent with the numbers of time I use in a week that my scalp and hair now accepts the range better now. My hair condition has improved gradually too. It is not as liveless as before *giggles*

  • Love your take on this item. I do have similar problems like your hair. What i do is alternate use of Head & shoulders anti dandruff (to reduce the oilyness) and sunsilk (to balance back the shine). Condition once a week. works like a gem! Maybe i shall try this item too 🙂

    • I used to alternate Head & Shoulder too until 2 years ago I no longer can use them. It makes my hair greasy 🙁 . My current rotation is A-Kin for sensitive scalp with Selsun Blue for dandruff. Somehow the combination of A-Kin + Selsun Blue + Pantene Pro-V balanced everything. I never thought of rotating my hair care though. I’m glad it works like a charm.

      • i agree with you. selsun works too! And did you know that by rotating the shampoos, it apparently helps with hair growth. (tip from my hairdresser :p)

        • No I didn’t know. This is new. Thanks for the tip! I only heard that by washing hair using warm water it helps with the growth. Recently I found out that we are suppose to rotate our shampoo instead of just using one brand/type for the rest of our life so that our scalp is not used to just one type. It all make sense now that I’m doing it.
