Antipodes Review: Skin Care Skin Care - Anti-Ageing

Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum: Getting my daily shot of youth

As I get older, I get obsessed with maintaining youthful skin and that includes getting obsessed with anti-aging products. I’m blessed with a ‘complicated’ skin that are not dry therefore I didn’t need to be worry about wrinkles. I really like to get my hands on anti-aging products that works from the inside because I believe that is easier and more important than working on fixing what’s on the skin surface. This is why Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum is right down my alley.

Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum
Funnily, I am not quite sure what this Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum is all about. I started using on the same day I got it because Antipodes is one of my favourite organic brand. Not that I’ve tried a lot but once I found a brand that I like, I stick to it. So have I found out what this Worship is? You bet I have. Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum is a water-based serum accenting the antioxidant potency of New Zealand-grown superfrui that helps the skin to maintain its youthfulness. It did it by fortifying skin cells against early ageing and free radical damage. Now that’s not too complicated to understand, isn’t it? 😀

What I like about the serum, just like everyone else is definitely the scent. Organic or all natural product to me tend to be on the earthy or woody scent, which I find it hard to take in. But this…this smells heavenly! Antipodes serum in general are one of the best smelling organic product ever. It is made from a blend of wholesome of superfruit complex Vinanza Oxifend Plus®, boysenberry, blackcurrant, kiwifruit and revolutionary antioxidant Vinanza Grape® from grape seeds, which are extracted with a technique using only pure water for high natural bioactivity and no chemical residue. Add all that with shots of coffee berry, açaí and the essential fatty acid alpha lipoic acid (ALA) and voilà! A supreme daily organic skin booster.

Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum Glass Pipette
The serum is bottled in an amber glass bottle, together with a glass pipette dropper dispenser. The serum is water-based so it is extremely light in texture, non-sticky and absorb into the skin with a few gentle pressing on the skin. I’ve cut down on the number of serum to use in day time from three to just one, so I added this into my day routine as well. However I only used three drops and 1/3 dropper amount for night time. Since this serum is also an anti-oxidant serum and the water-based consistency is lighter than my other serum, I use this serum right after eye cream. I go by smaller molecule product to the largest 😀

Anti-aging product efficacy is very subjective. I can’t tell you this removes all my wrinkles because I have none. I can’t tell you my acne is gone because this is not what it is for or can I tell you my spots are lighten because this is not whitening product. But I can tell you that this serum did help my skin by boosting it from the inside and boosting the efficacy of my skin care. It’s very hard to explain. My skin feels different whenever I apply this serum. My makeup adhere so much better the next day and keeping my dehydrated skin hydrated thus lesser sebum. After all, Worship is scientifically shown to inhibit oxidative stress in-vitro by up to 90%!

Antipodes Worship Superfruit Antioxidant Serum Ingredients
I had a conversation with a friend a few days ago on the regrets I have with my skin care routine. My only regret has always been the fact that I started really late on a proper skin care especially anti-aging. I came from a family where my mum is not into all this. She never tells me not to pop my pimples or not to touch my face that could cause infected and acne buildup neither have I been told to use basic skin care in my teenage years. So now I’m catching up all the time I’ve lost. Whenever someone commented that I used too much skin care (they only wash and moisturize by the way), I just smile. No one will understand until they are hit 30. I guess I have to wait for them to call me and ask for skin care recommendation lol 😀 . Where am I heading with all this you ask? This boils down to my advise to start young and start smart in skin care especially anti-aging. Start young means in your 20s, start smart means choose the product wisely and not use everything. You may not see any difference when you’re at your 20s but when you hit 30s, you will appreciate all the prep work you’ve put in 🙂

  • This product sounds good. I can’t not love anti-ageing serum. I invest more in skincare than makeup so a good serum makes me more excited than a fancy eyeshadow palette.

Anyway, I love your final, very honest and personal point. Yes, the advice to start early with a proper skincare regime is priceless and no amount of money and product in the world can buy back lost time but better late than never, right?

    • True. A good canvas is always better than making a canvas.

If I do have a daughter, I will shove all skin care to her when she hit 12 years old! 😀

      • Haha I don’t doubt that you would, Fiona dear! I wish my mum had done that for me when I was 12. These days, I think even boys can start early. I mean, acne skin care is important for both sexes where it applies, don’t you think?

        • Boys should too. I notice when boys hits puberty and gotten into acne breakout, it’s far more serious than girls. So starting early applies to all sexes.

  • I agree with Jude on the final thoughts. I appreciate you for sharing that^^
The thing is Fiona, we can’t see what went under the skin isn’t it? How do we know if it works? Would you consider a product that works by repairing what is on the skin top? Hope i don’t confuse you hehe!^^

    • My pleasure to share Eve! No you can’t see with naked eyes but you will see what’s going on top of the skin surface. Whatever that was fixed underneath will show itself on the surface so don’t worry about that. I love this type of product although I can understand how frustrating it is to wonder if it works. Of course I will consider a product that works on the skin surface haha.

  • When applying serums, the smaller molecule should be applied first. But I’m always confused or do not know which one to use first. I won’t skip hydrating serum, so I will apply anti-aging serum then whitening serum if I’m using all 3 serums. The hydrating serum I’m using now was advised to apply before toner as it will help with absorbtion of subsequent products. Some brands have different usage order from others which can be confusing too when I mix brands.

Can you please share more on how to apply serums in the right order please. Thanks.

    • All serums are equal to me so it comes down to which goes first. Instruction from each brand is quite confusing because they assume we use everything from their range lol. My steps are always either anti-aging > whitening > hydrating or whitening > anti-aging > hydrating, depending which anti-aging I’m using. For me hydrating goes last. That is because whitening products tend to be drying on most skin so hydrating / anti-aging, which is heavier (technically) should be applied after.
Let’s take this Worship for example. It is said to be applied before moisturizing products. Texture wise, it is more watery and the function is to repair from within so I applied it first before other serum.
      That’s how I apply my serums 😀

  • High 5 sista! I am a late bloomer when it comes to proper skincare and also indulgence. It was not until a life crisis hit me hard that I realized that I ought to live to the best that I can afford while I can. Also, reading your blog and experiencing your beauty journey and experience taught me a lot on skincare and also from your experiences. My mum is blessed with good skin, in fact she could use any skincare or even soap and water, voila she will still have good skin. In any case, I learnt it the hard way and also much later. It is ok I guess, better late than never. Antipodes remains as one of the organic skincare that I would like to incorporate into my skincare routine. The manuka honey mask is treating me so well that I have you to thank for 🙂 This worship serum looks delicious on its own with the extensive superfruit ingredients! I love serums, so thank you – this will be next on my list.

    • High 5^! My mum is blessed with good skin too. In fact my dad don’t even have as large pores as mine. His is smooth like a baby’s butt. Both my parents has good skin and both me and my brother doesn’t although my brother’s skin is far better than mine. I’m glad you like the manuka honey mask 😀 I have to say, of all Antipodes product I’ve tried, Worship is by far my favourite.
