Body - Fragrance Dolce&Gabbana Review: Bath / Body

Dolce&Gabbana Dolce Floral Drops: Fresher, lighter and yet maintaining the scent of freshly picked white flowers sprinkled with dew

A year ago, Dolce&Gabbana launched a fresh floral fragrance last year namely Dolce and a year later today with Spring around the corner, Dolce&Gabbana releases Dolce Floral Drops. It’s the first extension of Dolce following the successful fragrance release last year.

Dolce&Gabbana Dolce Floral Drops will be able to cater to the group of users that are not into strong floral scent of the original Dolce. It is more of a fresh and light scent and yet still mimicking the scent of freshly picked white flowers sprinkled with dew.

I happened to like floral scent when it comes to my fragrance. The original Dolce fits the bill however I do admit that the floral scent is too strong. Dolce Floral Drops seems to be the answer and solution to that 🙂 . I do think it’s because a hint of freshness that was added into the concoction that neutralizes the floral scent to the right amount. It has the rare beauty of a fresh, floral scent. Bear in mind though, Dolce is Eau de Parfum while Dolce Floral Drops is Eau de Toilette. This new extension fragrance is inspired by the notes of Dolce Eau de Parfum, preserving its harmonious signature of white flowers together with a heart of White Amaryllis. Combining these ingredients with the lively and crisp green opening of Neroli leaves, that enriches its character and define its freshness right from the opening of the fragrance.

As usual, the packaging is what sent us down to weak knees. I still remember the first time I lay my eyes on Dolce and I was wow-ed. Dolce Floral Drops smartly maintain the unique bottle shape of Dolce, from from the thick glass, the curved lines to the solid bottom. And let’s not forget the sculpted flower milky white petals cap. That type of cap is something you don’t see everyday. Dolce Floral Drops however adopted frosted glass instead of clear glass to give the fragrance a little bit different identity from the original Dolce. The frosted glass gives it a misty green colour as it present a dew-kissed tone, and expressing the fresh delicateness of the fragrance.

The black bow securing the bottle neck is removable. You can fashion it out as a ring on your finger or even as hair tie.

Now, this Dolce&Gabbana Dolce Floral Drops is a straight-up floral / fresh floral fragrance. It is very girly, very womenly type of fragrance. I like how the base notes are made of Cashmeran, Musky Notes and Sandalwood to tone down the excessive floraly scent a bit. It goes on fresh (that’s the first thing my nose picks up), then a shot of floral concoction appears. It’s not as strong as I expected it to be. In fact I can mist all over myself and I still don’t get giddy throughout the day. It dries down to a less floral scent thanks to the completely different base notes. If you have the original Dolce and you’re wondering what this Dolce Floral Drops smells like, just imagine the scent to be the same BUT lighter and fresher. If Dolce is too strong for you, I can assure you that you will like this one.
