Gucci Bamboo Eau de Parfum: Strong characteristic but yet graceful on the scent

Gucci made pretty good smelling fragrance all year round. I’ve said this before and I’m going to said it again. You can never go wrong with Gucci fragrance. I was blessed with a few Gucci fragrance and although I like them all, I can’t tell which is my favourite because they all smell so good.

Fresh from Gucci fragrance line, the brand introduced a new fragrance for her – Gucci Bamboo and it is already available for purchase.

Gucci Bamboo
The foundation of Gucci’s new Bamboo is to grab the brand’s most recognizable design signatures in references to Gucci woman of today, which is strong and graceful. Why bamboo? Well, bamboo has always been associated with strong characteristic for it’s natural strength survival will in extreme conditions. It is also elegant in a way and that, are what modern Gucci woman have in common with. Strength and confident, feminine, bendable but not breakable, adaptable, vital and fierce in facing changes in what life has to offer.

I am also often linked to as being strong character and confident by people that I know based on what I’ve been through in the past and the challenges that I’m facing or about to face in this new journey that I’m embarking. Whether I am a bamboo or not, let me tell you more about the scent of Gucci Bamboo.

Gucci Bamboo Bottle
The character of Gucci Bamboo pretty much evolves around the Gucci woman’s diverse sides. Her femininity, confidence, savvy and strength. This is why you would understand if I tell you that this scent has got to be the most subtle and soft fragrance from Gucci by far. It is intense in a way especially when you first mist it on. The scent is intensely mesmerizing but not nose clogging at all. I can definitely smell that this fragrance is slightly more warmer and woody at the beginning and especially when it starts to tone down, right until when the scent disappear completely. It’s a floral scent for sure, much to my delight. Very womanly scented, much to my liking as well. It is infused with exotic floral notes of soft Casablance Lily, feminine Orange Blossom and delicate Ylang Ylang. I have no idea what my nose detected at the beginning except for a nice womanly floral scent and if you ain’t a floraly scent person, don’t worry because Deep Sandalwood, heady Tahitian Vanilla and unique grey Amber accords are added in to balance the femininity contrast out.

Despite being an Eau de Parfum, which generally are stronger and longer lasting than the normal Eau de Toilette, however I don’t find Gucci Bamboo scent to last long on me. I mist generously onto myself and within 5-10 minutes the scent tones down. Two hours later I hardly can smell anything on me anymore. It could be that I’m smelly lately haha! Thank goodness the bottle is absolutely stunning and small so I can easily carry this in my handbag.

Gucci Bamboo Cap
As you know, I collect perfume bottles and bottle design means a lot to me especially when they are in this diamond-style glass facets. Having said that, the bottle does carries the scent characteristic on it. The polished silver metal cap is of course in the shape of a bamboo ridged joint. I like the greyish bottle surface against the soft pink perfume shade on the inside.

  • I like the bottle. I just have to try the scent now before deciding if it’s worth an investment. I find writing about fragrance pretty hard. It’s difficult to articulate an olfactory experience in words, don’t you think?

    • True. You really need to try the perfume on, walk around for a bit before deciding if the scent suits your / you like the scent. Writing about fragrance is hard when you don’t know what note you’re smelling. For this Gucci Bamboo, my nose is not connected to my brain lol. Otherwise it’s easier for me 🙂

  • I agree. Sometimes I would walk into Sephora, mist on myself, walk around the mall for a few hours before deciding if I like how the scent tone down.
