ELF Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover: Removing Liquid Lipstick Is No Longer A Pain!

ELF Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover
For those who have moved to the darker side aka liquid lipstick, you will understand when I tell you that removing liquid lipstick at the end of the day can be a pain. It is especially a pain to remove if you have darker shade on.

I did not know that there is product that are specially made to remove liquid lipstick until I stumbled upon an online seller selling this ELF Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover. ELF Cosmetics has been my all time favourite affordable product to buy, however this brand is not available directly in Malaysia unless you get it from pre-order or online seller like I did. My favourite iHerb site carries a small varieties of ELF products but not the latest releases sad to say.

What is this clear little tube thingy? According to ELF, this clear gel lip color remover contain oil-based formula such as Safflower Oil, Jojoba Oil, and Aloe to condition AND removing long-lasting lip color at the same time. You know what’s weird? I never thought of this as an oil-based product until I read the description on ELF website as I am writing this! All along it is watery for me, definitely not oily.

It comes in just one variant, I believe – Clear. It does not contain any coloring or fragrance. Thank God. Using this ELF Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover is pretty simple. I just squeeze some out on my finger and smear all over my lips. Then I let the product work it’s magic while I remove my eye makeup. Because the consistency is watery, it seeps into the mouth easily. It taste very sweet for some odd reason, like sugar syrup. It gave me goosebumps thinking I’m eating the product and lip color unintentionally. The suggested time to leave it on the lips are 30 seconds. I do leave it longer whenever I can especially when I had darker or vibrant lip color on. Those lip color pigmentation are extremely pigmented so it takes longer to break down the color. Sometimes I even need to go over the second time to really get everything off.

Next is to just tissue off with a tissue paper or a cotton pad. If you feel it is not clean enough, feel free to go over with micellar water. I don’t. I am just lazy lol.

It does a pretty good job surprisingly. I certainly did not expect this small tube to be so powerful. It works so much better with lighter shades. Whenever I had on a bright red or vampy color liquid lipstick, it takes times to get everything off. But I am mostly with neutral pink or mauvey shade so I am all good.

Colourpop Ultra Matte Lip in Solow came off with just one application and with a simple tissue wipe off.

Will I buy this again when I ran out? That is a definite YES! Provided I can find someone selling it haha! Sephora actually has a similar one – Sephora Ultimate Oil-In-Gel Lipstick Remover. I believe the Sephora version works the same except for the price tag which is slightly higher than this ELF version.

Has anyone tried any lipstick remover similar to this ELF Kiss It Goodbye Lip Color Remover? Do share your thoughts 😀
