Sisley Phyto-Eye Twist and Phyto-Lip Twist: Foolproof Beautiful Makeup in a Jiffy

Sisley Phyto-Eye and Lip
A lot of us are not aware that Sisley has been present in Malaysia for quite some time. I remember when I first started dipping my toes in beauty blogging, Maybank credit card was kind enough to have a few sampling exercise. It was not just any ordinary sachet sample redemption but what I get was a whole complete deluxe size trial kit in a pouch worth RM150, if I’m not mistaken. This generous redemption happened not just once but two to three times! 😀 . That is how I got to know the brand Sisley. I had a good first impression on the brand as the beauty advisor did not hard-sell their products during the redemption. Usually brand like this attracts me more to ask and fiddle with the products.

Fast forward to four years later, today, Sisley Malaysia had its first ever blogger get-together two months ago. It was a good one as we get to see, smell, and trial some Sisley skincare products as well as their makeup. Specifically the Phyto-Eye Twist and Phyto-Lip Twist. I have been wearing these two product frequently. It is fast and easy to use makeup products.

Baaammm! I bet you did not see this coming. Product swatches on second photo? What? Yes. I want to show you the swatches of the two Phyto Twist products I had with me before I go into detail.

Phyto-Eye Twist (RM170)

Sisley Phyto-Eye Twist 1
Phyto-Eye Twist is a 2-in-1 product; an eyeshadow that doubles up as an eyeliner. Usually eye jumbo pen like this are designed to be a fool-proof, quick and easy to use product. No precise application needed. But what makes a good eye jumbo pen having to be spoilt with choices in the beauty market recently? Sisley’s Phyto-Eye Twist are infused with skincare formula such as plant-based active ingredients likeGreen Tea, White Lily, Camellia that works to protects the skin of the eyelids.

It comes in an amazing 12 shades, four of them being the new shades. The one I have with me is 3 Khaki, which is more of an army kinda green 🙂

Compared to all other jumbo eye pen I have, this Phyto-Eye Twist has a smaller tip. It is huge enough for Asian eyes don’t worry lol. Although it glides on like a butter and is a water-proof product, boy this sets in a short few seconds! I would strongly suggest you to work on the blending on one eye first before applying on the other. Work fast is the key here. No precise application is needed with this. It is so easy to use. On a normal outing, I would just apply along my upper lash line and use my finger to blend upwards towards the crease before using a transition shade to blend on the upper crease to create more depth.

It has a metallic finishing, which is absolutely beautiful especially on the lower lash line. Whenever I had this on my upper lid, I will line my entire lower lash line with it too. But I also like to imitate what I used on the upper lid on my lower lid so I would use the same transition brown to apply under the Khaki shade. This step is not necessary. It is complete up to you 🙂

Sisley Phyto-Eye Twist 4
On certain days’ outing, I like to take things up a notch by intensifying the shade even more. I would apply Phyto-Eye Twist #3 Khaki on the entire upper lid and blend the edges with my finger. Then using a darker brown with a fluffy brush, I would then apply on the upper crease as transition shade. This will blend and smash with the Khaki shade. Basically it is the same step as above, just more intense 😀

Phyto-Lip Twist (RM170)

Phyto-Lip Twist is also a jumbo pen type of lip product. In fact this is not just a lipstick but more of a tinted lipbalm. It has the colour of a lipstick and shine like a gloss. However, to me this is a cream lipstick. Not so much of a gloss. The moisturizing and plumping effect is amazing. I believe this attributes greatly to the plant-based active ingredients in the lip twist.

It comes in 15 shades, with 6 new summery shades added to the existing collection.

I was lucky enough to get a shade that suits my lipstick preference. When I saw shade 11 Litchi, I said “this is Fiona shade” and everyone agrees 😀 . Litchi is a nudey pink shade, similar to My Lips But Better (MLBB) shades. I love the huge pen tip. I can get my lip done within a snap of a finger. It does not have any funky lipstick scent at all. It feels good on the lips and does not dries out my lip. I read that an ingredient called Phytosqualene is responsible to keep the lips suppleness and moisturized. That explains it. I also notice that the product does not settle in the fine lines on my lips as Commiphora Resin Extract plumps and smooth the lips contour.

The point tip makes retouching a breeze thing to do even out in the public 😛

Sisley Phyto-Lip Twist 3
The zebra-ish print on the tube does not bothers me a bit. For a high end brand like this, no doubt a pinch of quirkiness like this can be a surprise to most people. And since I am someone who is into quirky everything, I absolutely love this! However the similar packaging for the eye and lip product is a bit confusing. There was a few occasions where I nearly apply eyeshadow on my lips lol. I should really pay more attention to the tube size 😉 . Phyto-Eye Twist has a blue “Sisley” print on it while Phyto-Lip Twist has a “Red” print. I can’t remember this. I am just going to stick with the tube size to differentiate both products apart 😛

Hope you have a fantastic zebra-day ahead!
