Authentic vs Fake Beauty Tool Ecotools Info Make Up - Beauty Tools Special Feature

How to check if your Ecotools brush set is fake?

Disclaimer: This post will be a long post with lots of pictures. It may and will contain vulgar words. Do not read on if you feel offended.

real-fake
I am so damn pissed off since yesterday night that I couldn’t sleep. I make sure I get off bed early today just to blog about this. From the post title you could have guessed that it has something to do with Ecotools brushes. This will be a long post because I need to condemn the idiot seller who self-proclaimed herself as someone who “studied law” (dear seller, do you even know who am I???), I need to show you the authentic vs fake Ecotools as well as my conversation with the stupid cum idiot seller who is trying to twist and turn things because she thought I’m stupid too! Good try stupid seller!

Exactly on Tuesday I ordered a 5-pc and 6-pc brush set from a seller in LYN who contacted me earlier in Dec’11 upon seeing my “what to find” forum post. This seller’s ID is sharon1604. She replied promptly but coldly and I made my payment immediately after confirming what there is needed to be confirmed. The next thing you know. She went poof. I pm-ed her again the next morning thinking my parcel is already packed, ready to be sent out but instead she replied she will send the next day. WTF?? So this is the 3rd warning alarm that this seller is not authentic. The next day she still haven’t pm me the delivery status and provide me my parcel tracking number so I pm-ed her again on the status. Still no reply I pm-ed her again. She didn’t bother to reply anything even. I could see her last online time and she did went online for a few times. She just didn’t bother to reply my message. Alright. This is the 4th warning alarm that there’s something not right about this seller. I told my mum to keep an eye on the PosLaju man and if there’s no parcel arriving, I’m gonna screw her upside down. As she have another selling thread, I post to that thread and she immediately she pm-ed me. Maybe that’s her “rice bowl” thread so she replied my pm-ed. Twice. My mum called me in the evening saying the parcel arrived. Okay. I have 2 concern at the beginning; is the seller a cheater, is the brush set authentic? By that time I have one less concern and I have one big concern on the authenticity.

Beauty Tool Mary Kay Truly Beaute Fair

Truly Beaute Fair @ MV

Dropped by Truly Beaute Fair at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre yesterday after lunch with Monica and the first booth we walked pass is Mary Kay. Both of us were handed a sample and upon filling up our details in their form, we are entitled for a lucky dip.

Sample given by Mary Kay.

Packaging looks nice.

The pack contains 1X sachet of TimeWise Day Solution 3ml and 1X of TimeWise Night Solution 3ml.

Black & White packing.

Monica got herself a lipbalm which has a sheer colour worth RM55 for the lucky dip. I got myself this mini set worth RM300 according to the BA!

TimeWise Step 1: Refine 14g and TimeWise Step 2: Replenish 5ml.

I really like the lil cute bottle!

As we walked pass Mary Kay booth again to go thru another hall, we were approached by different BA and we were handed another sample again! This time the sample is a Signature Creme Lipstick.

Mary Kay Signature Creme Lipstick in Toffee Caramel.

We walked around and nothing much to see or buy as we’re in a hurry as it’s way passed our lunch time. But we managed to snatch some stuff. I only bought 2 items.

Always wanted to get this! Hair bun tool RM10 for 2. Monica shared with me as she wanted to get for her sis. Although she have no idea at all what is this or how to use this LOL. We got 1 each for RM5. Cheapest I’ve seen online is RM8 w/o shipping.

Fringe tool. A pack of 2 for RM7. Monica and I each got outself a pack. Yeah she got this for her sis too. I’ve taken out 1 to use which explains the missing piece.

Finishing look.

Simple instruction on how to insert this to your hair. Very easy.

Truly Beaute Fair is at Mid Valley Exhibition Centre from 10th – 12th December 2010.

Beauty Tool The Face Shop

The Face Shop 5P Eyeshadow Brush

After lunch, my colleague Melissa wanted to get some stuff at The Face Shop and I tagged along. I was fascinated by their affordable Xmas sets but I didn’t get any. I used to spend a lot at TFS and this time I refrain myself from browsing as I fear I might spend on things which I don’t need. When she was about to pay for her purchases, I remembered that I need a smaller eyeshadow brush and their brush section is exactly next to their cashier counter. I had a very weird conversation with the BA on the brush. She’s nice though. And friendly.

Me: Is this the smallest eyeshadow brush you have?
BA: Oh yes
Me: Do you have a size bigger than this?
BA: Yes we do *shows me the brush*
Me: Oh I want this
BA: It’s sold out though
Me: *slap forehead*
Me: *shows BA the brush* why is the bristle hard and looks like lip liner brush?
BA: Cause it’s new
Me: Will the bristle be like a “C” shape after some time?
BA: Yes it will but will take a long time to soften and loose. You got to wash with hot water
Me: Huh? Hot water? Even if I wash with brush cleaner and use quite frequent the bristle will still be hard?
BA: Yes. It’ll be stiff like that
Me: That’s weird. Nvm. I want this

What’s weird is I took out the brush and use my finger to loosen the bristle and immediately it’s loosen and the “C” shape is visible! The downside is the glue which glued the bristle together is already harden like hell and it flew off everywhere! When I got home, I washed the brush with brush cleaner and the brush looks like eyeshadow brush now. Not anywhere near of what the BA told me.

This is how the brush look like after I loosen the bristle.

The glue is still pretty much intact.

TFS eyeshadow brush comparison with my current ELF eyeshadow brush.

The Face Shop is currently having sales. This 5P eyeshadow brush is retailing at RM17.90 and after 30% discount will be RM12.53.

Beauty Tool ELF

ELF Brushes

My long anticipated purchase is finally here!

I’ve been waiting to buy ELF brushes especially the eyeshadow brush so badly that I don’t want to join any spree as it’ll took almost a month to reach *phew*. After some time of searching, I still can’t get seller who is selling the ready stock. So I decided to join a spree in LYN for the ELF Studio line as they’re having a 50% discount. The good news soon turns to bad as I was informed that the promo has ended and that those who ordered the Studio line will have to revert to a normal rate. That’s not it. The delivery took longer than a month to reach the seller here in Malaysia due to all the holidays in December 2009 (remember that all the Fridays is Public Holiday?). So I asked the seller if I could get a refund for my Studio line and she said yes. I got my refund for the Studio line thanks to the wonderful seller “hubby_enny”.

2 weeks ago I was doing another searching and found that Enny have stocked up some ELF products! Excitedly I choose slowly and properly hehe. I ended up not getting the Studio line brushes but the normal line as I have a normal line blusher brush to match.

Left to Right: Eye Shadow Brush x 2, Defining Eye Brush, Blending Eye Brush & Eyeliner Brush

My review:
1) Eye Shadow Brush
Kinda shock to see how big the brush is. Disappointed but happy as well. I mean I’m happy that its well worth the RM5.50 price but just too big for asian eyes hehe. Anyway, I’m still loving it. Just gotta try not to be too generous when applying eyeshadows huh.

2) Defining Eye Brush
This is something like the angle brush. Seldom use this unless I’m going to those corners + blending at the end of my eyes as the eyeshadow brush is too huge.

3) Blending Eye Brush
This is a great brush. Used it to highlight my brow bone and to blend my eyeshadow colors together.

4) Eyeliner Brush
And of course the eyeliner brush to apply eyeliner of course lol. Only used once. Love this too.

Anyway, this is just what I do with my brushes. Everyone have a different ways to use makeup brushes. Its YOUR brush…not other people’s.
