Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin: When anger turns to hate before turning into love. This is by far one of the best lip balm I’ve used!

A few years ago I bought a copy of Marie Claire April 2011 as it comes with a tube of Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm. I have heard so much rave on the lip balm so I bought it. Maybe the tube I had had gone bad or whatsoever because it taste awful and I totally dislike the dry texture. I threw that away and never went back to Burt’s Bees for their highly raved lip balm. Earlier this year, I needed a new lip balm for night time so I went to Sephora to look for one and decided to give Burt’s Bees a second chance. I bought Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm Tin.

Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm comes in two type of packaging, the normal tube or the one in a small metal tin. My room is quite hot in the mid day and most lip balm I had melted with such heat circulating in the room. I figure I would like the one that comes in a small tin. Plus it’s cute so why not 😀

Burt's Bees Beeswax Lip Balm
Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lip Balm is the original lip balm that’s been around since 1991. This small tin contain 8.5g of product while the tube only contain 4.25g of product. Price wise, it’s the same. I bought the tin version for RM22 while the tube version cost RM22 as well. RM22 may sound like a hefty price to pay for just a lip balm comparing to drugstore brand that only cost slightly over RM10 for a 4.5g, isn’t it?

A Pleasant Sunday Morning Casual Shopping Trip and My Haul

I haven’t been doing a haul post, haven’t I? I’ve been a good girl for the past three months ever since I quit my job and stays at home for a short break. I do buy small little thing like RM5 Daiso Eye Brow Pencil, RM5 Daiso brush holder or RM23 The Brush Guard but there was no major haul that could break the bank. Now that I’m going back to work soon, I’ve slowly started with my usual Sunday beauty shopping at KLCC and yesterday I gave myself a day off and spend a tiny bit of money on some stuff.

This is my haul.

I never knew anniversary for hand cream ever existed but I just found out L’Occitane Shea Butter hand cream turns 20 this year. Last Friday I received their newsletter on a 10ml hand cream redemption. I registered, chose my preferred outlet for redemption and I received the email notification immediately.

One of my ex-staff from previous company Whatsapp me last week informing me that Malaysia Tatler May 2012 issue comes with a Burt’s Bees Extra Energizing Citrus & Ginger Root Hand Soap 220ml at Kinokuniya KLCC! This is upon redemption at cashier counter and it’s not bundled with the magazine as usual. It’s good to know a friend working in Malaysia Tatler hehehe. The magazine cost RM15 per copy and this time I only bought 1 copy 🙂

Burt's Bees English Magazine Marie Claire Magazine Review: Magazine

Marie Claire April 2011 X Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lipbalm

Last Thursday I dropped by Kinokuniya KLCC during lunch time to pick up a reserved japanese magazine which I decided not to buy it in the end (opps! sorry!) and I picked up this instead. The funny part is my sales rep, Karen picked up the same magazine at 1 Utama! What a coincident.

Marie Claire April 2011 issue comes with a Burt’s Bees Beeswax Lipbalm worth RM18. The magazine cost is only RM7. The main reason for me to get this is because of the unique packaging. I wanna check out what other magazine is doing with their creative buy ideas. I think what Marie Claire did is really brilliant. I love their recycle bag idea!

Here’s the creative buy. The front view.

The back view.

Supplement blurp on front cover. A huge one.

The lipbalm is glued onto a small white cardboard which was glued to their full page advert. Ok. This part looks ugly. I wouldn’t do that. Basically the lipbalm is stuck out and you can actually feel the lipbalm from outside. The reason is they don’t want to make the magazine bulky so they just stuck it like that.

The lipbalm included. There was 5 flavour and I have gotten Passion Fruit flavour.

The part which I always like. The seal on the cap. You need to twist the cap to break the seal. After I broke the seal, I tore off the excess.

The lipbalm is milky white colour and very hard. I don’t like the texture and I don’t like the smell. The lipbalm makes my lips whitish like a ghost haha. I wouldn’t wear it out alone though. So I only apply this before I go to sleep. I still prefer Hada Labo’s Lip Moisturizer which I wore all the time even with my lipstick or lip gloss as the base.
