This Monday, I received a surprise sms from ACP Magazine. Apparently I’ve won Malaysian Women’s Weekly/Clarins June 2011 contest!

So I went to redeem my prize the next day. I won Clarins Gentle Beauty Soap worth RM60.
I won’t be using this so there’ll not be any review done.

Dropped by Clarins’s roadshow event in front of Jusco Mid Valley North Court the other day to make my purchase from Fennie, my favourite BA. After a few persuasion and advice, I grabbed another set of Shaping Facial Lift Double Lift Best Buy Set @ RM429 although the set I bought last month (read here) is barely touched. I had too many things on my mind that I’m confused on what to get and I just briefly told Fennie on what I think and she immediately knew what is more worth to buy for me. I love their HydraQuench range especially the HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase which took me some time to get used to the smell and hated the smell of HydraQuench Cream-Gel. But after trying on hand the newly revamped packaging, texture and scent, I decided to get it! Fennie said that the top note is now infused with green apple. I got this Clarins White Plus HP Whitening Repairing Night Cream 50ml from a friend almost a month ago and I’ve been using this night cream since then. I’m quite happy to get this as coincidently I have some breakout and acne scars normally heal and fade very slowly on my skin. Also I want to prevent pigmentation from happening as not many people know the fact that pigmentation doesn’t stop at night.
Benefits
The essential anti-dark spots care to complement daytime brightening products. The repairing cream the skin needs to ensure soothed, repaired, brighter skin in the morning.
An exceptional cream combining freshness and comfort. Soothes, regenerates and moisturizes the skin. It repairs harm caused by UV rays and daytime stress factors, and slows the production of melanin during the night. Skin is brighter and more radiant in the morning. Thanks to a draining action, the face appears smooth and rested.
Application
Apply cream to the face and neck on dry skin, after thorough cleansing, progressively moving the flat of the hands from the middle of the face to the sides. Then carry out light pressing motions with the hands on the face, to encourage absorption of the cream without stretching skin tissues.
Active Ingredients
Sea lily extract: slows the spread of melanin which causes dark spots. Daisy extract: soothes skin to reduce hyperpigmentation linked to daytimes stress factors. Extracts of alchemilla and raspberry, derivatives of vitamin C and vitamin B8: block the causes of hyperpigmentation.
The jar is a clean, white and heavy huge jar. And all Clarins product is sealed with a shrink wrap on top. This is not exceptional too.

Inside there’s another milky white plastic separator between the screw cap and the cream itself. I like how face cream / moisturizer is stored in such way to prevent the cream from sticking to the screw cap and not make it messy.
The cream is so fluffy and light weighted. It spread easily like a serum or moisturizer. This doesn’t feel like a cream at all! The scent is pleasant to ones nose and smell so heavenly. I’m already liking this cream even before putting it on my face!
To maintain the freshness and hygiene of the cream, I use a clean spatula and transfered some cream to a clean jar for everyday use and repeat the process when the small jar is empty.
A big jar like this can last for quite some time. At the beginning I used this generously on my face on the first few days. Then I realise how expensive this is and how waste I am so I use this night cream moderately.
Pros:
1) Nice and pleasant scent.
2) Light weighted.
3) Good whitening cream for and to prevent pigmentation.
Con:
The only thing is the price. It’s retailing at RM240 for 50ml!

Clarins Malaysia is kind enough to arrange for a afternoon tea session just for their Facebook fans. The attendees are limited to only 50 people and was held at Isetan Gardens, Pastis Area on Sunday 31st July 2011 anytime from 2pm to 5pm.
Registration are done through email and based on first come first serve basis. The first 50 person to email their details in will be chosen. Me and my friend; Casey are the lucky one to be chosen and we arrived around 3pm.
As I was walking over, I was greeted from far by Erinn who is Clarins’s Beauty Expert. We chatted a bit and register ourself with Priscilla and was seated aside for refreshment. I didn’t had any refreshment as I was walking around taking picture with my new camera.

Benefits
A deep-down purifying and refining creamy non-drying mask for oily combination skin that refines and can be used to freshen up normal skins too.
Purity, freshness and radiance for combination and oily skin. This mask comforts and purifies, refines the skin’s texture and leaves it matte and very soft. Non-drying, it is rinsed off easily and is suitable for even the most delicate skin.
Application
Apply once or twice a week to cleansed, dry skin (avoid the eye contour). Leave on 5-10 minutes and rinse off with cool water.
Active Ingredients
-Tanaka powders and Pink Clay: gently absorb impurities and excess oil, remove dead skin cells.
-Alpine Willow Herb, Zinc, Vitamin B6: regulate oil production, tighten pores.
-Linden: soothes and softens.
The cream, a soft light pink in colour and texture. Smell exactly like Pore Minimizing Serum as both product is from the same range; Truly Matte. At first few usage I don’t really like the smell of it. I hold my breath when I’m applying but that was first few applications 🙂
I bought this as I love mask but too tired or lazy sometimes for it. This wash-off type of mask is just perfect for a lazy bum like me! Also this mask is a deep cleansing mask that will “suck” all dirts out from inside. How good is that? And I need to make up to RM350 in order to be eligible for their free gift and to join their Clarins Club Beauté member. Yea I was that excited to be a part of Clarins family.
Basically you applied to the whole of your face excluding the eye area. Do not apply too thick or too thin. This is because half of the mask will “disappear” and look more translucent. Pictures below will explain it.

The mask will dries up and you’d look less whiter. Sorry about the hard-to-notice before and after pictures. I applied thicker than usual that night as my mask was finishing and the content was popping out. On a normal thickness it’d be more translucent. Ok so after it dries up, wet your palm and massage gently all over. Once the mask dilutes, rinse it off with cool water.

You’d find your face looking fairer and cleaner! I’m using this twice a week. If I can I do hope to use it 3 times a week.

A few weeks ago a kind reader sent me a Clarins Aqua Essence Morning Energy 10ml after reading about my love for Clarins products. Thank you! It’s good to try out a deluxe sample before buying the full size product 🙂 I’ve been using this for near to 2 weeks now so here’s what I think.
What Clarins said in their website are that the mist is the first step to a fresh, healthy glow in the morning. It contains Green Coffee which revives skin while Red Current hydrates and softens. An invigorating lotion based on plant extracts that revives skin’s radiance. Applied before daily skin care, it restores the fresh radiance of toned skin which glows with youthful vitality.
So, I’d assume this is a “pre-serum” and since it said use before daily skin care. . . I’m using this mist after cleansing and toner. It’s kinda waste if I follow the instruction from Clarins website which is before cleansing and daily moisturiser.
The ingredients:
Green Coffee: stimulating Ginseng: when combined with Green Coffee, re-energises skin which appears more supple and toned. Red Current: moisturises and softens skin making it appear smoother. White Tea: protects against free radicals to preserve the skin’s youthfulness.
The essence comes in a frosty glass container which makes me very happy holding it. It feels heavy on hand and looks huge too 🙂
The colour of the essence is in orange colour but don’t worry this will make you look orangey. Once the essence is dispensed out it appears clear.
After using it for a few weeks every morning, I couldn’t see any major changes. Of course. This is just a pre-serum to prepare the skin for skin cares and makeups. But it did freshen my skin and my face look more “waken up”.
Retail Price: RM155 for 100ml
Pros:
1) Prep the skin for skin cares and makeups.
2) Freshen and wake up the skin.
3) Lightweight and smells nice.
4) One bottle last quite long.
Cons:
1) A bit costly for a facial mist.
Would I purchase a full size bottle after this? Definitely YES! All Clarins products are the highest quality and most importantly it works on my skin.
