Simple Lunch at Sanuki Udon

Sanuki Udon was introduced by a friend of mine last year when he dropped by my office for lunch. I remembered he telling me it’s the nicest, cheapest Japanese udon that you can have in this area. I’m not a foodie nor a Japanese food lover but we’ve gone tired lunching at the few places that I’m willing to take my chances! On my first trip to Sanuki Udon we were introduced to the owner of the place; Seiji Fujimoto or Fuji-san as what we called him who happened to own the famous yakiniku (grilled meat in Japanese) place at the alley behind my office. What a coincident.

That’s Sanuki Udon owner’s – Fuji-san car. He’s the most handsome guy you can ever imagine. Don’t go stalk him after this k? 🙂

The first time I think I had those in soup. I don’t like it as it’s not my taste of food. From there I concluded once again I hate Japanese food. On my second trip I had Cha Cheong Udon hot. Yes…you can choose your noodle to be in hot or cold. Since that day onwards I’m a Cha Cheong Udon girl!

On Wednesday I was nearby Taman Desa feeling nauseas but with gastric at the same time. I couldn’t think of what else I can eat except of this udon so I drove over to pack back to office.

The next day I had lunch with one of my ex-boss and he suggested to lunch at Sanuki Udon. I was more than happy to eat there again as I want to take picture for this post 🙂

This is my Cha Cheong Udon (RM6). Totally love the sause. The taste is very similar to soya bean paste. Just a hint of it.

Giant Macarons – Delectable by Su Designer Cakes & More

This week I’m craving for macarons. Les Deux Garcons macarons is what I wanted to buy badly but due to the hard-to-find parking at Bangsar, I’ve found a great place to ease my craving thanks to the trusty Mr. Google. And let me tell you this is the only place where you can get giant macarons!

I made my way to Delectable located at The Gardens on Tuesday during lunch time to get macarons for lunch. Never had macaron as lunch but hey why not?

I could recognize Delectable from the signature sign board and cream color shop front from far. I like what I see. It’s just where I want to be at that time. I feel warm and cozy. And I was giggling in heart like a small girl.

I’ve never been to their shop before so I was trying to locate the macarons. So I asked the lovely lady inside the shop and she said it’s right at the side. Oh silly me. It’s at the far end of the shop which I didn’t notice as I came from the other end.

Sugar Rush

Pop Art filter mode

My current obsession on candies is this!

It’s Skittles no doubt. The only different is the bottle and price. I like this convenient bottle but this cost me near to RM8. Yikes!

I have a bottle in the car to chew on when I’m stuck in traffic jams. Especially when CNY is near and the traffic is horrible everywhere, this is pretty good. The best part is you can refill the bottle anytime.

I got this from Watsons KLCC. Not sure where else but most prolly it’s everywhere.

Food The Apartment

Dinner at The Apartment, KLCC

After a relaxing high-tea at G Tower, all of us jumped into Joanne’s car and drove to KLCC for some shopping. A few hours after that we’re hungry and we all agreed to try The Apartment.

I just realized that I haven’t took a picture with my fellow charity supporter so I ask Samantha to take one for us 🙂

Each of us chose one dish to share among ourself. Here’s our selection! Melissa said she’s hungry and the poor girl waited patiently for me an Samantha to snap pictures lol. Thank god I’m not a food blogger or else pity my friends hehehe.

The tea selection comes with a pot so each of us ordered different tea. Mine is peach tea.

Samantha ordered the house salad. This is the worse salad I ever eaten. Basically this dish’s vege is ONLY spring onion and celery leave! Those two are NOT for salad ler. Duh!

Joanne ordered a spaghetti. This taste nice but slightly burnt. It taste like hawker stall noodle? But if we were to compare with the salad, this is much more better.

The best dish of all is this duck. Can’t remember the dish name LOL. This dish is chosen by Melissa. Good choice girl!

Last but not least I ordered this chicken dish. Can’t remember the name as well, sorry!

It was a good dinner. It doesn’t matter if the food doesn’t taste good or how expensive the meal is. The most important is all of us enjoyed being around each other, nice ambiance, nice dining place and we enjoyed the food sharing. Each of us spent only RM40 for this dinner 🙂

Food The Lounge

High Tea at The Lounge, G Tower

A few weeks ago I treated my friends to a high tea session at G Tower. I wanted to thank them for helping me with my Clarins We Care 2011 charity fund-raising. Who knew that inside G Tower there’s a small lil cafe named The Lounge. How do I found out about this place? I found out from a blog review on the 3-tier high tea set for just RM45. Before I headed over to the place, I googled for more info and called up to make my reservation.

I was first to reach and waited for my friends who’s not far away. As soon as they arrived, I needed to go down to the parking basement as I couldn’t remember if I locked my car or not. LOL! When I returned to The Lounge, they’re cam-whoring.

Caught in action

The Lounge is located at the lobby of G Tower. You wouldn’t miss it as there’s an easy to remember center piece not to be missed. Otherwise just look for the “island” cafe with their name on it 🙂

I like that the place is quiet and relaxing on weekend. I went on Sunday and it’s not crowded at all. Just two or three table occupied. The sofa are huge and roomy, very comfy to sit on. It feel luxurious enough. The center piece is two huge chilies. It’s really huge and you won’t miss it. We sit just next to the chilies haha.

Here’s the girls. They are my friends, my ex-colleague as well.

We opted for their famous Afternoon Meeting Tea Set for 3 person. My friends wanted to order 2 sets as there’s 4 of us. I suggested that we just order one set not because I’m stingy but because I’ve seen how huge this is from other blogs. So we ended up with one set of this and added a cup of ice coffee.

The coffee included is tad small. I read that there’s free refill but when I asked for our refill I was told that free refill is not applicable. WTF.

The coffee included.

Mel and Sam is trying to be artistic and wanted to create some motive with the milk and foam! Then they tried using a spoon to scoop the foam here and there 🙂

Our 3 tier set arrived! Looks nice too. We are suppose to start from bottom to top which is salty to sweet. Some like the other way round. We agreed to eat from bottom to top lol.

Top tier. The sweet stuff!

Middle tier. The danish stuff.
I found a hair on top of the donut and I ask for the waitress to come over. She examine the hair to confirm it’s REALLY hair and replaced another danish for us. I’m not sure why she need to examine if it’s hair or not. Really weird.

Bottom tier is the salty stuff. It’s sandwiches of course.

Samantha secretly (cause I didn’t realize) took my picture and did this!

Although the place is really a good relaxing, quiet place but the food is nothing to shout about. The tea set was so so only. It’s indeed a good place to get together with your friends, family and girlfriends. But I’d still go back for more high tea session as I love the ambiance a lot.

Charcoal Peanuts from Taiwan

Ever since dad returned from Taiwan with loads of charcoal peanuts last year, I was hooked. First impression was “eeeewwwww”. Mum practically forced the peanut to my mouth and the rest was history.

Recently I saw a comment in Facebook of a friend’s friend about her going to Taiwan. So I commented for a favor and the nice girl agreed to help me to buy the charcoal peanuts. Initially I asked her to get the buy 5 free 1 package but she smsed my friend from Taiwan saying she could only carry 2-3 packs for me.

Last week I met up with this nice girl at her office in Mid Valley to collect my charcoal peanuts and she bought 2 packs for RM13 per pack. Thank you Cui Xin!

Yummy charcoal peanuts – RM13 per pack

It may look yucky and ugly but taste really good!

The peanuts inside 😉

Thank you again Cui Xin!
