MAKE UP FOR EVER Flat Steel Palette: You don’t need to be a pro to buy this mixing palette

One thing for sure is that I get foundation or any other makeup on my dress every single morning. I kinda forget that I have it on the back of my hand. Foundation is one of the most stubborn stain to get rid of dress due to the fact that I don’t hard scrub my work dresses or it could be that my mum wasn’t paying attention to makeup stain on my dress? Long story cut short, I wanted to get a mixing palette badly. I kinda like MAKE UP FOR EVER one but knowing it’s MUFE, it means it will be expensive. I’m not going to spend a lot on a mixing palette. I knew Inglot had it too so the choices now is to either bite the bullet or don’t get it at all. One day I decided to email MAKE UP FOR EVER awesome PR and Marketing girl to enquire on the prices and let’s just say I literally dash over to MAKE UP FOR EVER Starhill boutique the next day and purchased it.

MAKE UP FOR EVER Flat Steel Palette Large Size
MAKE UP FOR EVER Flat Steel Palette comes in two sizes – a Small size 126mm x 75mm and a Large size 163mm x 106mm. The price differences is only RM5 apart so you bet I got the Large size for RM25. I have no idea why I was stressing myself thinking it would be expensive. It was surprisingly not. That explains the dashing to the store 😀

Bdellium Tools iHerb Make Up - Beauty Tools Review: Make Up

Bdellium Pink Bambu Series: Dupe comparison with my other favourite brushes. The closest dupe I’ve found so far!

I’ve always known of Bdellium Tools in iHerb because I stumbled upon the brand when I was searching for blending brushes last year. Bdellium Tools Studio Line, if you know Bdellium well, is the most well-known brush line due to it’s striking and unique yellow handle. I’m not a fan of yellow. I cannot see myself using yellow brushes and I didn’t know what Bdellium Tools brand is all about. When I watched CoffeeBreakwithDani haul on Bdellium Tools, I WANT THEM. I do not care if it’s yellow. It was her repurchase as spare brushes so I knew these brushes must be good. I guess luck was on my side because iHerb had a weekly 20% special on Bdellium Tools! I hauled back six Bdellium Tools Pink Bambu Series last week and this is what I think about Bdellium Tools brushes so far.

Bdellium Pink Bambu Series
I have a lot of face brushes including a few new Zoeva brushes which are still sitting in the box comfortably so my purchase was mainly on the eye brushes. Having said that, I’m also on the lookout for a dupe of my most favourite powder brush of all – the Real Techniques Buffing Brush, which is not available to purchase individually. I thought I’ve found the perfect dupe a few months ago with ELF Studio Powder Brush but it was not quite the same. Needless to say, that brush’s ferrule came off from the handle and I’ve repurchased a new one, which is still sitting in the drawer because I want to find one similar to Real Techniques Buffing Brush before breaking into the new ELF Studio Powder Brush.

Real Techniques Nic’s Picks: My first impression

Ever since I found out that Real Techniques is launching Real Techniques Nic’s Picks set back in August 2014, I was super excited. I’ve always been fond with chrome-handle brushes and they’re near impossible to get in Malaysia. I knew that I can get my hands on Real Techniques brushes easily. Can you imagine my excitement when this set is made available in iHerb.com?

Real Techniques Nic’s Picks is a limited edition brush set from Nic Chapman, one of the sisters behind beauty blog and YouTube channel Pixiwoo and it was finally launched in October 2014. It wasn’t until middle of November that I placed my order from iHerb.com. I was patiently waiting for iHerb to come out with the special 20% OFF offer and it finally happened. Needless to say, I placed my order in less than 5 minutes and a few days later, the brushes arrived my doorstep. These beauties remained in the box until two weeks ago. I took them out, gave them a good deep thorough bath and eagerly used them the next day.

Real Techniques Nic's Picks
Sam Chapman came out with a similar set last year aptly named as Sam’s Picks. I was contemplating if I should get Sam’s Picks earlier this year and while I was still contemplating, I heard about these chrome-handle Nic’s Picks. It’s just about the right time as Sam’s Picks was discontinued and Nic’s Picks made it’s way in.

Colours Cosmetics Malaysia Flat Top Foundation Brush: Perfect brush handle grip with ultra soft bristles for both liquid and powder foundation

The thing about watching YouTube videos is that you want something that was used in the video that is not available directly in the country. That’s what happened to me a few weeks ago when I was interested with NYX Baked Blush. So I do what I do best. I googled for any available online store and coincidently I was directed to Colours Cosmetics Malaysia website, the one website that many beauty addict recommended to me before this. What’s so coincident about this is that as soon as I put my laptop to sleep, I received an email through my phone from Colours Cosmetics Malaysia asking me if I would like to be among the first few to have and review their upcoming Flat Top Foundation Brush. A brush? A flat top foundation brush?! Come to mama!

Colours Cosmetics Malaysia Flat Top Foundation Brush Closeup
Colours Cosmetics Malaysia (CCM) has been around for the past three years, bringing in brands and high quality products from oversea such as NYX (including those not available in Sephora), Physicians Formula, Wet n Wild, Milani, Jordana, BH Cosmetics and many more. You must be thinking this Flat Top Foundation Brush is a travel size isn’t it? Well, it’s actually a normal size brush. Don’t judge the brush by it’s size 😀 . The inspiration came when the partners of CCM realized that all of us, the beauty addicts had the same problem when applying our makeup close to the mirror – that the normal long brush handle keeps on knocking onto the mirror. I don’t know about you but I don’t mind the mirror. All I care about is my brush and how scratchy it would be in the long run. Yes, I’m that particular about my beauty products. I’m glad finally someone recognized the problem and did something about it 😀

Make Up - Beauty Tools Review: Make Up The Brush Guard

The Brush Guard: Small investment brush protection sleeve for long lasting brush lifespan

As my brush collection is getting larger, washing and drying them is getting a little bit tougher as I only have one pack of The Brush Guard Variety Pack of six to rotate whenever I need to deep clean all my dirty brushes. I bought that one pack when I just started with makeup and I remember I bought it for my ELF brushes. That’s how I was taught to dry my brushes from day one and I still practise the same exercise till this day 🙂

Just recently I went on a hunt again for The Brush Guard and I think I found the same seller who sold me my first The Brush Guard many years ago. I reach out to her through her Facebook page and I ended up with these packs. Mind you there wasn’t many people that is selling this brush guard, even online. Hunting the seller down is tough but I always knew where to find them.

The Brush Guard
But of course all this doesn’t come with no drama. And because of this drama, my review that was suppose to go up gazillion days ago was put on hold because I need to get some sort of confirmation before I lash out here. This is suppose to be MY BLOG to share with everyone my tips and tricks or even favourite products so that more people would benefit from it. But nooooo. It turned to be business related and I was furious. I had spoken to the seller who sold me hers so that she can contact The Brush Guard but she sort of wanting me to do it instead. I could have just review this without linking to anyone but I was more interested with the core of the problem so I contacted The Brush Guard personally. In conclusion, I will not link the online store here. More of the drama at the end of the review…

Review: Daiso Detergent For Puff and Sponge Clean Your Sponge in 1-Minute

If you are a compact powder or foundation user I guess you ought to know that you need to wash your sponge when it’s dirty. Or should I say when the powder no longer stick to the sponge or your face look cakey after application? For me I will wash my sponge when I see that the powder on the sponge is all cramped together. When I see that it means it’s time for a bath time.

Ever since I discovered Daiso 2 years ago, saw this Daiso Detergent For Puff and Sponge on the shelve and bought a bottle home…I never look back. I had repurchase so many times since then that I lost count on how many bottles I’ve used up. I have no reason to. It’s cheap and affordable for all income level plus it’s really that good. How cheap is cheap? Everyone know Daiso sells everything for RM5 each! Yes RM5!
