Heroine Make Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up

Review: Kiss Me Heroine Make Quick Eyebrow #03 Light Brown

Yesterday morning right when I was above to draw my eyebrow, I notice the led of my automatic eyebrow pencil is missing! I went into panic mode and start searching. When I calm down I tried to think if I have any spare and I didn’t. Then I thought of Kiss Me Heroine Make Quick Eyebrow #03 Light Brown from an exchange programe back in February. I was a bit hesitated to use that as it’s very light in colour.

Here’s the picture from previous post.

The colour is very hard to draw on. I had to keep dragging and drawing to get a visible colour. However. . .something which I like about this eyebrow pencil is how natural looking it is despite the light colour. I do like how it looks on my brow but I doubt it’d be visible in photograph. The led is super thin and small which makes drawing quite easy. I’m considering to buy one in middle brown or dark brown if the price is not as pricey as it is now.

Here is the colour on my brow upclose. I’m surprise it looks “ok” upclose in photograph. In far distance? Errrmmm not?

I love this photograph! Kiss Me Heroine Make Quick Eyebrow look so soft on my brow.

Daiso Ellefar Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up

Review: Daiso’s Ellefar Glitter Eyeshadow

As promised!

The cheapest, most affordable and good eyeshadow is from Daiso!

When I finally stepped into Daiso outlet in IOI Mall Puchong last year, I went around 5 rounds and never wanted to miss a section or a thing. Yea I’m pretty maniac when I see store that sells Japanese stuff and what’s more? Everything is just RM5!! My parents tagged along with me that day. I remembered shoo-ing them to go for another round and another round just because I haven’t shop enough. And of course I bought a lot of stuff back. One of it was not intended or purposely but I was looking around if I could get a nice shimmering pink or purple eyeshadow. At that time I was kinda into purple and was skeptical about cheap eyeshadow. Since I wasn’t good with purple or pink eyeshadow and this would be more like a “training” to me so I bought it. I never regretted after that.

Ellefar Glitter Eyeshadow in 5 shades from pearl white, light pink, pink, purple and dark brown.

A you can see. . .I use the pink and purple the most. I will use the light pink as middle tone of the lid and pearl white below the brow. Once in a while I will substitute purple with dark brown.

The swatches. These are not even on eye primer and they are very pearly colour and pigmented too. Imagine layering this over Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer! Which I did a few days before CNY and received lots of compliments from my colleagues.

Now don’t go crazy at Daiso ok? Take your time choosing the right colour and palette. There’s no point wasting money although it’s just RM5.

Etude House Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up

Review: Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer

Etude House products are not as expensive as I think it is. It is actually quite affordable and good too. I got to know that they have a really great eye primer and so I went to their outlet in Sunway Pyramid 2 weeks before CNY and they have been out of stock since last year. Their helpful BA asked if I would want to write down my contact and of course I did. Within a week after my visit they contacted me back to inform me that Proof 10 Eye Primer is back in stock! This baby is retailing at RM26.90.

Info obtained from their website:-
Proof 10 Eye Primer supplies coverage to eyelids and around the eyes to enhance eye shadow color and integrity for a longer lasting, Perfect 10 look.

Vol 10g (0.35 oz.)

Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer comes in a small and tall attractive blue box full with Korean wordings on it.

It claimed that your eyeshadow/eyeliners etc will last for 24 hours and a perfect 10 look!

This logo is suppose to mean that the primer lock in the eyeshadow for longer wear?

The bottle is very very small and the applicator is very very long.

The applicator is a sponge-like and the content is quite watery but not too watery. It is more watery than my ELF Eye Primer and easier to apply than ELF too.

The content on the back of my hand. The colour is light beige and turns transparent after spreading it.

It claimed that the primer will enhance eyeshadow colour and I have to agree with it. On my first day of using this primer, I have compliments from my colleagues that I looked different and my eyeshadow look natural. I used to have oil on my lids after a few hours and my eyeshadow will be cakey on the crease! Here’s a comparison of with and without using the eye primer on my favourite purple eyeshadow. As you can see the one on the left (without) is not as intense as the one on the right (with). Eyeshadow colour seems to “pop-out” and looks more intense. I even saved time applying eyeshadow as repeated application is at minimal now.

Here’s the test result from after application to end of the day before I took off my makeup.

After application around 11am. The sun is blaring hot in the morning.

Before I took off my makeup around 8pm. As you can see from below pictures. . .my eyeshadow and eyeliner is pretty much still the same as in the morning. Not different at all. I couldn’t capture the light pink eyeshadow at the inner corner of my eyelid but it’s still there.

I think I’ve found my Holy Grail Eye Primer!

Next:- Good eyeshadow with cheap price tag. I’ll expose one of the best eyeshadow that I use more than others.

Heavy Rotation Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up Watsons

Review: Heavy Rotation Pencil Liner

There’s 1 thing that I never put on when applying makeup which is eyeliner. I never skip every other thing from makeup base for face and eye till lipstick. Only eyeliner. I remembered the BA at Clinique counter once asked me before why I never apply eyeliner. I gave her an excuse that my lid is too oily, eyeliner smear on me, I don’t know how to draw and many many more excuses. The ironic this is. . .my colleagues in the office doesn’t apply ANYTHING but eyeliner. Hah. I always feels that they are so weird that they don’t put on anything but eyeliner. Till now I still think they are weird!

Anyway. I decided to get a good eyeliner pencil and start sharpening my skill drawing it. Last week I was at Watsons KLCC and I happen to saw the one from Heroin Make and Heavy Rotation. I did a quick search with on Blackberry and the reviews for Heroin Make was blah and the reviews for Heavy Rotation is good so I decided to pick that instead. There’s 3 type of eyeliner which is liquid, gel and pencil. I don’t want anything to melt on me so I decided to get the pencil one instead. Their Pencil Liner was on discount and I got it at RM35.91.

The packaging and brand name was a bit tempting to me. I could imagine myself with eyeliners on now haha.

The directions which I never read lol. Sorry!

The pencil is long and thin. Packaging is not filmsy at all and pretty well made and felt heavy.

It looks more like crayon liner than pencil and it does glides on like crayon too. Perhaps this is a combination of pencil + crayon?

On the other tip of the pencil is actually a blending tip/sponge and hidden inside is a sharpener! How cool is that? I haven’t use both of that yet so we’ll see.

This is how the “tool” included looks like.

I like how black the liner is. Very pigmented, smooth and easy to draw.

On the first day, I drew a very very thin line and it wasn’t really visible (but to myself). This time I use a different method and sequence of applying eyeliner. After 2-way foundation, I applied ELF Eyelid Primer. Then I applied another layer of 2-way foundation on my lids. After that I apply eyeliner, follow by eyeshadow, touch up eyeliner, curl my lashes, touch up eyeliner again, apply mascara base and last is mascara. I find this step works to avoid eyeliner from smudging but the eyeliner was transfered to the eyelash curler and I have to reapplied again. As I mentioned before the eyeliner is something like a crayon liner. So I tried a different sequence the next day.

On the second day, I curl my lashes follow by eyeliner, then eyeshadow, touch up on the eyeliner, apply mascara base and mascara. No dramatic change in the sequence. And this is even better. I need not to reapply my eyeliner twice and this save me lots of time. Same as first day…there’s no smudges from the eyeliner.

Here’s the pictures taken on the second day when I got home from work. I use minimal eyeshadow on second day to try out how the eyeliner stand out. What I applied on the whole lid is a pinkish beige eyeshadow from Majolica Majorca and brow highlight from MM as well. I was so afraid I have panda eye the whole day and keep checking on the mirror!

I drew a fatter line and I was surprise how good the eyeliner looks like. No fading or smudges at all at the crease.

No smudges too on the lid, bottom lid and everywhere else!

Good purchase, good price cause it’s a really good product. I have oily lids and it doesn’t smudge on me nor the eyeliner will fade out. No regret here. Will I repurchase? Definitely!

Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up The Face Shop

Review: The Face Shop Eyelash & Eyebrow Nutrition Liquid

Remember the post about my broken eyelash problem? Read here. Well. . .the L’Oreal Renewal Lash Serum that I bought doesn’t help. The serum may helped in strengthening my lashes and growth of my lower lash but done absolutely nothing to help the growth of my broken lashes. It has been almost a month now and I was panicking.

One day I remembered about The Face Shop Eyelash & Eyebrow Nutrition Liquid which I bought many years ago. So I headed to The Face Shop in Aeon Cheras Selatan in Balakong and bought it. The retail price is RM19.90 and I got it at RM11.95 after their 40% discount Christmas sales. The male SA was trying hard to get me to buy 2 but I hesitated. Mum even told me to buy extra as it’s very cheap. Maybe I’ll return to get the 2nd tube.

The Face Shop Eyelash & Eyebrow Nutrition Liquid new packaging! No longer in transparent tube where you can see lots of yucky residue from our eyelash or eyebrow floating inside. The tube is better made now too. Previous tube will melt and broke by its own at the screw top.

Not sure why they named it Eyebrow Essence now. It’s totally useless for eyebrow.

The brush is exactly same with mascara brush. It is hard, coarse and painful when applying. Most of the time I’d brush some to the root of my eyelashes to speed the growth. Twice a day I make sure I applied the nutrition directly to the root. Yes I was that desperate. The essence on the other hand is in peachy colour. Smells nice and sweet too. It’ll sting your eye if you accidentally applied too much though.

My Personal Review & Experience?
I applied twice a day. Once in the morning before I curl my eyelashes and once in the night time followed by L’Oreal Renewal Lash Serum to strengthen my lashes as well before I go to sleep.
After just using about a week. I notice my broken lashes are longer. It no longer poke my eyelid when I sneeze. Which only means that the lashes are longer and they’re not short and spiky anymore. I always check on my eyelashes growth and I thought they’re slow. But everything changed when I tried applying mascara on the broken lashes just 3 days ago. Then only I found out how much it has grown. I too notice some fine lashes growing as well. At least my lashes are thicker now.

Here comes the result! Too bad I didn’t thought of taking the “before” picture =(

Front view. Notice the missing lashes in the middle? It was just above the curve which make things worse. But see how it’s noticeable now? It used to be blank!

Side view.

Close-up view.

And here’s the final look with mascara. Although not as long as the rest but I’m pretty happy with this progress.

Make Up - Eyes Review: Make Up The Face Shop

Review: The Face Shop Auto Eyebrow Pencil

After a few Missha Automatic Eyebrow Pencil, I switched back to The Face Shop. I didn’t have time to wait for a week for Missha delivery so the best alternative is TFS.

Besides rude SA, I was suprised to see the holder of the eyebrow pencil has changed from pretty light green with flower print to just plain beige.

The Face Shop Auto Eyebrow Pencil – NP RM19.90, after current 10% discount is RM17.90.

I got myself Dark Brown colour.

TFS products is Made In Korea. Same with Missha as well.

I have no idea what is it with “Lovely ME:EX” on the pencil.

A brush is included at one end of the pencil. Which is same with Missha as well. I hardly use this actually.

Brand new lead fresh from the pencil. The tip is not narrowly shaped for easy drawing.

Comparison between Missha and TFS. Both is dark brown. As Missha is used, the colour appears here is more softer. TFS lead is new and not narrowly shaped for first application so the colour appears more stiff and harsh.

Here’s how it looks like when I used it for the first time today.

My Personal Review:-
Maybe due to my recent change in skincare, my face appears more supple and hydrated therefore Missha’s automatic eyebrow pencil doesn’t stay put. The colour used to stay longer on my skin though. No doubt about it. Nowadays when I accidentally swipe my hair from my face, the colour will be wiped off too. As the price of Missha’s is only RM9, I would have purchase it if I could received the parcel fast. Otherwise TFS is equally good too.
