Skin Food Black Sugar Mask: Sugar, sweet and everything nice

Oh hello! I am back for another face scrub review 🙂 . I love face scrub. I especially love using face scrub after a long day of having makeup on. Face scrub is also a good way to scrub of all the dead skin cells from the skin surface and to remove all the yucky stuff that are stuck in the pores. Talking about face scrub already got me so excited. Let me excite you more with another fantabulous product that I have been using for a good few months. And I am hitting the bottom of the jar of Skin Food Black Sugar Mask.

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask
First of all, please ignore the beat up label on the Skin Food Black Sugar Mask cap 😀 . I had it on the vanity shelf in my bathroom and water got onto the cap like no body’s business. I have really been enjoying the product and I tried not to be as generous as I am on the usual so that I can have this scrub longer. I managed to drag it for a few months and I keep reminding myself to review this since I am about to finish the tub. Lucky me that I remember this time round!

Althea Korea: One-stop K-Beauty online store shopping experience and my haul

I’m pretty sure what I’m going to talk about today is not something new to you. You might have already heard, been told, seen, and even shopped personally at Althea Korea. Althea Korea made its debut appearance in the Malaysia beauty scene 2 months ago. Almost everyone I know has been asking me if I knew or tried shopping at the new online store and they want to know what I think before they place their order. You see, my friends sometimes treat me as the “experimental” type of person when it comes to online shopping. I have no idea what they are afraid of. Not like the online store will bite 😀 😀

I’m not going to torture you with my whole shopping experience first so here is my haul from Althea Korea. I know you are curious with what I got 😉

Althea Korea Haul
Now that you have already seen briefly of my overall haul, let me tell you what I think.

Make Up - Face Review: Make Up Skin Food

Skin Food Black Egg Pore Gel Base: The lingering scent puts me off but I like the velvety matte gel that minimize the appearance of large pores

The best thing about my job and the industry I’m in is that my client sometimes give me products to try. The very first time I met up with Skin Food a few months ago, I went to their office. The marketing girl and I had similar skin problems, except that her skin is better than mine by double. We spoke about oily skin, large pores and how foundation melts on our types of skin. Throughout the conversation, I was staring at her skin. She looks like she had foundation on but in fact she only apply makeup base. That’s right. Only makeup base. A makeup base that gives her a little bit of coverage, fills in the pores, smooths out uneven skin tone and controls sebum. At the end of the meeting, she gave me a tube of Skin Food Black Egg Pore Gel Base to try along with a few other goodies to take home.

Skin Food Black Egg Pore Gel Base
The Skin Food Black Egg Pore Gel Base is a pore-refining makeup primer that minimize the appearance of enlarged pores. Usually pore-refining product contain silicone in it but not this one. It’s comes in a gel-ish fluid that does not feel silicony at all. It has a tint of shade to it to smooth uneven skin and at the same time to brighten dull skin tones. It also claimed to control sebum, just like what Skin Food marketing girl told me.

Clarins L'Occitane Make Up For Ever Skin Food Urban Decay Watsons

Newly Opened (2 weeks worth)

Sorry that I’ve missed 2-3 weeks of weekly edition of “Newly Opened”.

Here’s 2 weeks worth of new products that I opened up 2 weeks ago.

Skin Food Egg White Pack (5 sets consist of nose, forehead & jaw)
Review: Read here
This works superbly well removing those stubborn blackheads from your nose especially. I like the fact that Skin Food included jaw and forehead as well. That’s a bonus.

Watsons H Bella Purify & Renew Body Polish Strawberry & Cinnamon 250g
I received this from recent Watsons event. I’ve used up the previous jar which I gotten from Watsons event as well and I love it. I might repurchase this when I finish this jar.

Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion 11ml
Yeap. I jumped into UDPP bandwagon recently after reading all the great reviews BUT I was disappointed. I’d still prefer Etude House Proof 10 Eye Primer though. Will do a review soon.

Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil 2ml
This is my 3rd 2ml mini bottle. I’m only using this at night so after this I’m gonna purchase the full size bottle which is 30ml.

Make Up For Ever High Definition Foundation 5ml
I got this mini bottle from a recent contest. Although the shade is too dark for my skin tone, I didn’t mind it as my Paul & Joe compact is too fair for my skin. So this sort of balance up the shade. It really does what it claimed; High Definition. I would definitely drop by MUFE counter to purchase.

Make Up For Ever High Definition Blush 4ml
This is also won from a recent contest. This is a cream blusher which needed to be applied after foundation but before the powder. A little goes a long way. I still prefer powder blush.

L’Occitane Shea Butter Foot Cream 30ml & 150ml
Review: Read here
As I’m having some skin issue now, I carry the 30ml in my handbag to keep my foot moisturized while the 150ml stayed on the side of my bed which I’m using it generously before sleep. This is a good moisturizing cream for the foot but doesn’t do anything for crack heels. Clarins one is better for crack heels.

Clarins Cleansing Milk With Gentian 50ml
Review: Read here
My must-have makeup remover! This is my second last 50ml bottle. Time to repurchase soon 🙂

Clarins Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Cottonseed 20ml
Review: Read here
After being advised by Fennie, I’ve swapped the day and night cleanser routine so this is my day cleanser now. Mummy is also using this. Second last deluxe sample on hand. Still considering if I should purchase this in future.

Clarins Skin Food

Newly Opened This Week

This week’s new and replenish products.

Clarins One-Step Gentle Exfoliating Cleanser With Orange Extract 75ml
This is sent to me by one of my reader who suggested me to alternate Cleansing Milk with this. It’s a cleanser + gentle scrub at one time. Very similar to Neutrogena Deep Clean Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub. I’m still considering if I should purchase this and put it in my daily regime.

Clarins HydraQuench Cream-Gel 15ml
Review: Read here
Finally I finished the retail jar of 50ml. 50ml may sound a little but you don’t need to apply a lot therefore a full size could last you for months! In my case it last me from September to December 2011 :). The smell of the gel makes you wanna slap on a thick layer. It makes my pillow smells nice too.

Clarins Cleansing Milk With Gentian 50ml
Review: Read here
The best makeup remover I ever used. I managed to finished up a 400ml Limited Edition Jumbo Size then a 200ml retail size. I still have 4pcs of 50ml deluxe sample and that equals to a retail size. This will be permanently in my daily regime.

Clarins Relax Bath & Shower Concentrate With Essential Oils 50ml
This is the first ever product from Clarins which I hated!! The smell is horrible. I got this from November haul. At first kinda excited cause I never own this before and 50ml is huge too. Yesterday I decided to try this and I *fainted* lol!! Oh gosh. I have the retail size 200ml of Tonic Bath & Shower Concentrate from October points redemption. I’m praying hard that the smell is not as horrible as this too.

Clarins Wonder Volume Mascara #01 Wonder Black 3ml
This is the mascara from Instant Light Booster Kit which I purchased from Clarins Beauty Fair last week. Not bad. I like the mascara. It’s not heavy and make my lashes droopy.

Skin Food Egg White Pore Clean Pad
I purchased this last Saturday from Skin Food 12 Day Challenge Prize Giving event. I’ve used once and I still think Skin Food Egg White Pack is the best.

Event Skin Food

Skin Food 12 Day Challenge Prize Giving

I was delighted to find out that I was one of the 10 special guest bloggers to attend Skin Food 12 Day Challenge Prize Giving event at One Utama outlet. Read about it at Skin Food Malaysia Official Blog. I nearly miss this as there’s no email from Skin Food personnel. They just blog about it and post up the blog link in their Facebook page. I was about to shut down my lappie and head home and I saw an update from Skin Food on my page. Phew!

The event was held last Saturday at 12 noon. I sprained my knee in the morning so I took a pain killer, wore flats and head to One Utama. Talk about being a hardcore blogger LOL!!

Newly renovated Skin Food concept stpre in One Utama which they just had their reopening ceremony 2 weeks back.

The prize giving ceremony started at 12noon sharp with Marsha Lim; Senior Marketing Executive giving a short welcoming speech.

Challengers, bloggers and guests waiting anxiously.

Bernice Ando; Business Development Manager presenting Grand Prize of iPad 2 (32 GB) to Eng Wai Man.

Grand Prize winner giving a short speech.

Second Prize winner; Sati Sekar took home a RM 250 worth of Skin Food Vouchers.

Third Prize winner; Farah Liyana also took home a RM 250 worth of Skin Food Vouchers.

Before we proceed to consolation prize giving, Marsha gave all of us a quick brief of what everyone including the bloggers will take home. Each of us are given a set of Choco Smoky Nail Kit which will only be launched in another 2 weeks time and also a REAL chocolate. What’s up with the real chocolate? Skin Food Malaysia will be launching a new line which carries the theme of chocolate!

Next we proceed to consolation prize giving of RM75 worth of Skin Food Vouchers. As most of the challengers are not there, there’s only a few who managed to get this voucher. One of them is a blogger whom recently added me in Facebook and this is our first time meeting each other.

Wendy Pua receiving RM75 worth of Skin Food Vouchers.

To my surprise, 10 special guest bloggers is also called up to accept the door gift! I’m the first to go. I’m disappointed that most of the blogger didn’t turn up 🙁

Bernice is so tall! I looked so weird in this photo. I’m blaming my carelessness that morning which resulted in a knee sprain that make me no choice but to wear flats!

Group photo.

Christmas sets. Cute and affordable too.

Eyeshadow colours are vibrant and colourful!

Wide selection of skincare range and makeup.

After that, Marsha and I chatted for a bit and we went for lunch at Delicious. I had Lemon Meringue Pie. Yummy!

I thought this lemon meringue pie is cute, nicely decorated and delicious too!

Thanks Marsha for the lunch.

Let’s take a look at our exclusive door gift.

Choco Smoky Nail Kit (Chic Brown) which is yet to be launch and Royce Chocolate nicely and neatly wrapped with Skin Food ribbon. How thoughtful. Very creative of them to include the “real” chocolate =)

Choco Smoky Nail Kit worth RM31.90 I received is in Chic Brown. We can use this nail kit to create a chocolate-smooth smoky nails.

#1 Base Coat: Pale gray
#2 Middle Coat: Light gray
#3 Top Coat: Dark chocolate

Pictorial on the back of the box on how to use this nail kit.

As mentioned we are also gifted with Royce Chocolate bar.

Delicious milk chocolate 🙂

I purchased a Skin Food Egg White Pore Clean Pad RM28.80. In this pack there’s 5pcs each for Step 1 and Step 2.

I enjoyed myself very much at this event. Kudos to Skin Food Malaysia team. And thanks for inviting me.
