Review: Keep Smelly Feet Away with The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray

Not many people are comfortable speaking about smelly feet nor have I ever encounter a product review to prevent smelly feet unless I google for it. I don’t have smelly feet or should I say “Hong Kong feet” issue. I do like to wear pump a lot to work. With our humid hot weather it’s unavoidable if the feet or shoe smells a bit especially if you are someone who like to insert shoe insole like me. Unless you don’t sweat wearing a pump whole day! The main reason why I like shoe insole is because I want to protect the inner part of the shoe so that it will look just like brand new. This idea came along when I find myself taking off my shoe a lot whenever I visit a client’s office. No one like to see a nice shoe on the outside with bad inner condition. At least I don’t.

Many years ago when I was still managing near to 40 retail sales person, one of them is particular about her feet. Everyday when she come to work she would take her sweet time spraying her feet with The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray before putting on her socks. I remembered asking her if the foot spray is really that good. From where I was standing I could smell a refreshing peppermint scent and it’s quite pleasant on the nose. She told me it’s really cooling and her feet stay dry and free from smell by the end of her shift.

I didn’t know what took me so long to get a bottle. Perhaps it’s the price. I couldn’t justify paying RM39.90 for a foot spray. Other brands are selling half the price the max and drugstore ones are RM10+ only. But I finally bought a bottle a few weeks ago after I finished my other useless foot spray.

Review: The Body Shop Lipscuff

I love lipstick. Never get the chance to try out matte or nude lipstick as my lips are super dry. When my lips is dry of course there’s dead skin peeling too. I never like my lips condition. If you remembered previously I bought a set of Paul & Joe makeup set which a rather “drying” lipstick is included. The colour is gorgeous but it’s just too dry. Dry lips + dry lipstick = disaster. So I googled around to find a lip scrub (I never knew it existed anywhere) and found some good review for . . . hang on . . . The Body Shop! And in all the reviews there’s a note on the high price as well. Shoot.

I bought one end of October. It’s called The Body Shop Lipscuff.

This lip scrub contains 3 main ingredients namely Marula Oil, Organic Beeswax and Crushed Fig Stone Granules. Marula Oil is a very effective moisturiser that also helps to condition the skin over time. Also provides essential fatty acids that help to repair the skin’s moisture barrier, thus helping to restore moisture, smoothness and suppleness. Organic Beeswax moisturises and helps to condition the skin. It also acts as a barrier that helps to seal in moisture and helps to keep product texture consistent when used over time. Crushed fig stone granules on the other hand help to gently remove dead skin cells.

A moisturising lip care product that gently exfoliates the lips to help remove dead skin cells, leaving the lips feeling smooth, soft and conditioned which evens the surface of the skin to better absorb Lip Colour, making it last for longer. Dermatologically tested.

I was told that I can use this everyday and I did. Everyday after I applied all my skincare, I scrub my lips while waiting for all the skincare to set in before applying makeup.

As the tube is similar with a lipstick, I simply just apply in circular motion as this is “scrubbing” motion as well.

Then I use my index finger to scrub in circular motion.

On a good day my lips seems better and smoother after using. On a bad day which is most of the day this is not working a bit. The dry peeling skin is still on my lips and my lipstick doesn’t glide on smoothly. Sometimes I woke up with a surprisingly good conditioned lips and scrubbing with this is not needed at all.

I would not repurchase this unless I couldn’t find anything else out there. Anyway here’s a picture of a 50% good day. 50% as in lips are still dry but I can still apply my “dry” lipstick.

Up next – a new found lip scrub. Is it better than The Body Shop Lipscuff?

Review: The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub

After finishing Watsons H Bella Purify & Renew Body Polish which I received from Isn’t Life Great official launch event, my next choice of body scrub is actually Crabtree & Evelyn’s but unfortunately they’re not having any sales at the moment so I decided to try something cheaper.

The Body Shop Olive Body Scrub is a 200ml jar and it’s suitable for Normal / Dry Skin. It’s retailing at RM59.90.

I sniffed all of the body scrubs available and finally settled with Olive as I always believe Olive is good for the skin. On first sniff it smelled terrible for me. I thought it smelled alcohol-like lol.

The scrub contain ground olive stones, rice granules and crushed walnut shells for gentle exfoliation which could be harsh on some people so if you have super delicate skin or you don’t like original scrub, you might not like this. For me I love this as scrub are meant to be that way. It also contain organic olive oil that helps to condition the skin and sunflower seed oil which moisturises and helps to soften the skin. But this is a cream-based body scrub so your skin will feel soft and smooth at the same time!

This is how the scrub looks like before spreading.

And after spreading the scrub out, I can clearly see the ground olive stones, rice granules and crushed walnut shells (especially walnut shells). It smelled good too.

It might take some time to get the scrub off your skin as it’s quite thick. Or maybe I applied too thick eh? Oh well. Look at how soft my skin is after the scrub.

I use this once every 2 days. I thought I’d be disappointed with this body scrub but turns out I like it very much.

The Body Shop Lipscuff & Olive Body Scrub

I popped in The Body Shop in Mid Valley on Wednesday to purchase a lip scrub aka Lipscuff in TBS term. I haven’t been to TBS for the past 6 years? Recently I’m on a hunt for lip scrub and I read online that TBS’s is pretty good but expensive.

Expensive it is! Lipscuff is selling at RM35 and it’s as small and short as a lipstick! I also picked up Olive Body Scrub for RM59.90.

With TBS current Gift With Purchase promotion, I was given a trial size Vitamin E Moisture Cream 15ml worth RM14.90.
