Vanity Trove March 2013 “Temptress Seduction” Edition Review

The one beauty box that I was anticipating patiently everyday for the past 2 weeks is Vanity Trove. I loveeee their debut box which I think they did a great job so the expectation for the next following box is definitely higher.

“Valerie” has been hinting in their Facebook page on Kanebo and Asian Potions in the March trove making me go oouuu aaahhh but I still have no idea when they will be sending out the box until I was informed that they had sent out on Monday then the real wait had started. My trove was sent to my house while I’m at work. Thanks to friends in Facebook and Instagram I finally get a sneak peek. Boy was I disappointed. I can’t help but to keep asking to myself if that’s it?

Here is March 2013 trove.

It’s All About Love – Vanity Trove *New* Malaysia February 2013 Edition Review

After waiting for days I finally received my Vanity Trove February 2013 edition! Many of us are receiving the trove late because the shipping is divided to 2 batches. And I was in batch 2. A little bit sad cause all bloggers had gotten theirs on Tuesday. But all is good now.

Let me refresh your mind on Vanity Trove. First of all it’s not new in Malaysia. Back in December 2011 Vanity Trove was established in Singapore and 2 months later they launched Vanity Trove Malaysia whereas they shipped the trove all the way from Singapore for RM60. It’s not that expensive considering they are the only one oversea that are willing to send to Malaysia. My first trove was February 2012 edition and I subscribed up till April 2012 edition before I decided to stop subscribing temporary. I made the right choice cause it’s getting worse since then.

When I found out someone IN Malaysia took over Vanity Trove Malaysia and will be having an office locally, I was relieved. It’s about time someone took over and curated a trove just for us Malaysian.

Back to my trove. It’s exactly the same as previous. I like this kind of “drawer” type of box. The box is shrink wrapped like previous without any bubble wrap. I still think bubble wrapping the box is essential in preventing the box from dents and cuts.

Kanebo Vanity Trove

Kanebo + Vanity Trove Malaysia Sense of Beauty Pink Carpet Event

Last week I signed up for Kanebo + Vanity Trove Sense of Beauty Pink Carpet Event which I didn’t thought of doing so. When I saw the itinerary I told myself I have too many skin care. Somehow after some consideration and I’m pretty free for the week I decided to go on with it. Vanity Trove is charging RM80 for this experience. It is held only for 2 days; 5th Jan and 6th Jan and only 7 time slots opened for each day. I booked myself for 5th Jan, 11am so yeah I’m the first one 🙂

VanityTrove33
I have no idea where Kanebo facial cabin is located but it’s not hard to find at all. In fact I reached the location by accident lol. It’s not hard to spot really. A huge Vanity Trove banner was facing my direction and Vanity Troves on the table.

For RM80 attendees will go through a personalized skin check, followed by a Facial Experience (40-45 mins) and beauty tips to get radiant and glowing skin. That’s not all. We will also get a Kanebo exclusive Vanity Trove. I’ve seen such events happening for Vanity Trove Singapore and I’m glad Vanity Trove Malaysia managed to organize one this soon. Kudos!

Vanity Trove April 2012 Subscription Review

I’m away for Clarins VIP Beauty Workshop today and it’s my second Clarins workshop ever since I started an amazing journey with Clarins. So while I’m away having a lil fun I’ve not forgotten about you my readers.

Anyone of you remember a beauty box which I subscribed? No? Click here for February subscription review and here for March subscription review. Initially I didn’t want to review April subscription but I find that Vanity Trove review is getting lesser and lesser by month so I thought I wanna contribute some content to Google 😛

Okay. Let’s begin.

My Vanity Trove April subscription came much more later than my first and second box. Why? Because they’ve changed their packing and send out timeline. They even changed to courier instead of normal post. I do not know which is much more better cause there’s pros and cons.

Pros – Box is bubble wrapped so my April box is in superb condition! Last time nothing. Just shrink wrap.
Cons – Arrived later than previous. Last time arrived earlier.

As soon as I pull out the drawer, I was greeted with this striking pink envelope. This envelop contain loads of Singapore blogshop discount voucher which I’ll highlight at the end of this post.

Vanity Trove March 2012 Subscription Review

I received my March trove last Saturday when I was out shopping :). My excited was soon turned sour again as the shrink wrap was torn all over and the box is in far more worser condition than February trove. It’s not visible in the picture below though as the box and my background is in white.

I paid RM50.99 for February trove and this time I paid RM50.38 due to the currency exchange.

There’s two different trove for March. What we get it based on luck. I’ve gotten “Go for Glow” trove. Not sure if I should be happy or not as I hauled quite a bit of skin care on Saturday itself.

The trove comes in just one brand; Astalift. There’s an assortment of skin care from Astalift included such as Moisture Foam, jelly AQUARYSTA, Lotion, Essence, Cream, Day Protector SPF35 PA++ and White Shield Drink. In another word this is a trial size kit.

ASTALIFT White Shield Drink
ASTALIFT Collagen 10000 harnesses the combined power of triple Collagens to ensure the optimal supply of Collagen to the body. The low-molecular weight of Marine Collagen ensures effective absorption by the body, aided by two types of Pico-Collagens (Proline and Lysine) which are necessary for Collagen synthesis. Comes in a delicious peach yoghurt flavour, and each box contains 10 x 30ml bottles, to provide 10,000 mg of low-molecular Marine Collagen per serving.

ASTALIFT Jelly AQUARYSTA
Star product of Astalift, ASTALIFT Jelly AQUARYSTA contains the world’s smallest “human-type” nano-sized Ceramide molecules to enhances skin’s moisture retention ability for optimal level of moisture in your skin. The unique light-as-water jelly contains a highly- concentrated and stable blend of skin-loving nutrients to penetrate deep into skin’s layers for full nourishment. Skin is protected against further dehydration and external stimuli that can cause skin irritation.

ASTALIFT Cream
Fortified with the super antioxidant, Astaxanthin, three different types of moisturising Collagens, wholesome Royal Jelly, and Squalane to seal moisture within skin, by forming a moisture veil over it. Regular use results in smooth, resilient skin.

ASTALIFT Lotion
Contains the super antioxidant, Astaxanthin, three different types of Collagens to enhance hydration and skin-loving Hyaluronan to help skin retain moisture. This rich pampering lotion also conditions skin to enhance the penetration of Essence or Emulsion which follows next. Skin becomes supple and moist after use.

ASTALIFT Day Protector SPF35 PA++
With SPF 35/PA++, the ASTALIFT Day Protector protects skin against harmful ultraviolet rays, a leading cause of ageing. Contains the super antioxidant, Astaxanthin, three different types of Collagens to enhance hydration and skin-loving Hyaluronan to help skin retain moisture. Non-greasy with a light after-feel, it also multi-tasks as a great makeup base.

ASTALIFT Essence
Contains an extremely high concentration of Astaxanthin as well as the wholesome goodness of Royal Jelly, skin- firming Elastin and three different types of moisturising Collagens to effectively deliver anti-ageing goodness deep into skin. The effect is bouncy, supple skin fortified to fight against external stimuli and the ravages of time. Promises to return vigour and radiance to your complexion.

ASTALIFT Moisture Foam
Lathers into luxuriously rich foam that thoroughly removes keratin residue and oxidised sebum which can cause skin dullness. Adds moisture and clearness to skin and contains the super antioxidant, Astaxanthin, and hydro-soluble Collagen to keep skin looking soft, bright and radiant.

Here’s the Vanity Mag included for “Go for Glow”.

On the inside you’d find the step-by-step guide for all the products included in this month’s trove.

A handful Astalift leaflet is also included. And a S$10 cash voucher.

What I don’t like about this month’s trove is as soon as I slide the box open, I saw how empty it is as the nesting is too little that it’s all cramped up like a bar and it’s all chucked on the down part of the box while the products are all chucked on the other part of the box. The picture below doesn’t justify what I mentioned on the nesting as I’ve loosen it up for the photography of the picture above.

The second thing that I don’t like is that one of the White Shield Drink bottle leaked and the juice is all over other products, nesting and the paper.

The White Shield Drink bottle juice stained the paper which initially I thought it’s the design of the paper LOL! I purposely took this picture slightly darker to show the stain.

Then there’s this weirdest thing. I appreciate that the team put some potpourri on the nesting just like last month’s trove but don’t la just scatter 4 pieces *faint*

I would prefer a beauty box with a mix of different varieties of skin care and makeup from different brands to try though. Hope next month would be better.

Vanity Trove

Vanity Trove February 2012 Review

I subscribed for a beauty box which was located in our neighboring country; Singapore. My first subscription is February trove from Vanity Trove. According to Vanity Trove the beauty boxes is posted out on the 15th every month and it will take about 7 – 10 days to reach Malaysia. Due to the weekend and my parcel is considered oversea parcel, I only received the beauty box on 24th February. However my thrill and excitement only lasted for 5 minutes. I’ve been guessing for the past weeks on what’s my OPI minis Nicki Minaj color and I found none in my trove. Imagine the bummer moment that time. However the problem was soon rectified when Vanity Trove sent out the missing item plus a few extras the next Monday morning. I also made my redemption from Rinsie Rose and the parcel arrived a day later after Vanity Trove’s (the missing item parcel) this week.

I’m glad to say here’s the rundown review! FINALLY!

Vanity Trove beauty box subscription cost S$25 or RM50 monthly. As I made my payment thru Paypal, I was charged RM50.99 due to the currency rate at that time. What I love about Vanity Trove is the beautiful sturdy pull-out drawer box. Imagine stacking all the trove boxes to store all the make ups, skin cares and accessories. The box was shrink wrapped and posted to me as it is. There’s no outer box to protect the trove unlike BellaBox or GlossyBox. When I received the trove, the shrink wrap is torn and the box is slightly damaged.

When I pull out the drawer, I was amazed by the wonderful scent and purple paper wrapping. As it’s Valentine month, there’s generous potpourri on the nesting inside. So far Vanity Trove has the best presentation of beauty box.

A welcome card is included in the trove.

On the inside of the card, there’s a summary of beauty surprises included in the trove. This gives me a better understanding of the product included. Excellent.

And, here’s my complete trove! I love every single thing in it.

Here goes the rundown of what’s included in the February trove.

First up is of course OPI Minis Nicki Minaj Spring 2012 collection. I received Pink Friday which is a bubblegum pink creme and Fly which is teal creme. Each bottle is only 3.75ml.

Just released in 2012, OPI brings to you yet another exciting collaboration. This time, get loud and funky with Nicki Minaj! Instead of playing it safe, catch the eyes of everyone around you with the mini selections from the range.

The collection has been widely reviewed around the blogosphere with good feedback. Solid shades “Did It On ‘Em” (Yellow-Green Chartreuse), “Fly” (Teal), “Pink Friday” (Bubblegum Pink) slide on easily on the nails and look fantastic in just two coats. “Metallic 4 Life” is a special silver glitter with holographic bar glitter that glams up any nail look!

Second is Mekhala Living Black Rice Shampoo & Conditioner travel set. Each bottle is 30ml and the set comes in a pretty sheer bag. I think this set won’t last long on me since my hair is thick and long lol!

Think about how rice energizes and nourishes you. Now, think about how wholesome it will be for your tresses. Using the time-tested beauty secret of black rice, Mekhala Living offers to you the ultimate luxury in haircare products.

Mekhala Living produces 100% natural top quality spa products that are used in 5-star hotels like the Mandarin Oriental and The Chedi, free of artificial flavours, colours, chemicals, fragrances and preservatives that can harm your body’s delicate balance.

Third item is Filthy Farmgirl Handmade Soap. I’m a bit confuse with the name of the soap. Is it Cardamom Rose or Love Cake? I did some google search with my Blackberry and found Cardamom Rose Love Cake but now when I’m online with my notebook I search again and the name is Filthy Valentine! Too late to edit the picture as picture editing is on another notebook. Sorry Filthy Farmgirl!

My soap (big portion on the back) melted onto some of the potpourri and Vanity Trove team immediately replaced it for me. Thanks VT.

Filthy Farmgirl enlivens the otherwise ritualistic task of washing up with handmade and handcut soaps soaked in the happiness fragrances and cheekiest taglines ever.

All Filthy Farmgirl soaps are 100 percent natural and vegan friendly soaps without detergents, surfactants, sulfates, artificial scents, colorizers, petroleum products or yucky stuff of any kind.

I also received two tea bag from Allerines Premium Tea. I was given Sweet Dream and Strawberry Shortcake. Smells nice. Can’t wait to brew a cup tomorrow 🙂

Forget the boring classics that we’ve been drinking all these while, the blends of tea in the world exceed far beyond the regular English Breakfast, Earl Grey and Chamomile mix. At Allerines, they’ve dreamed up charming concoctions of the world’s second favourite drink to match with your desserts or so good you can have it on its own.

Sourcing only the most premium blends around the world, Allerines Premium Tea expounds the benefits of a comforting cup of tea with their unique blends.

Next is Rinsie Rose’s Lia Sophia-xin necklace. I’m glad I was asked to choose from Rinsie Rose website although a bit troublesome but it’s totally worth the wait. I love the necklace so so much! So cute!

RinsieRose is all about accessories and what makes you happy wearing them. Using only quality materials, each RinsieRose piece is carefully put together with much thought and effort, making it the best finishing touch to your look!

RinsieRose also loves making friends, spreading the joy of her love for accessories with the people who love her work. Hence, wearing a RinsieRose piece will naturally make you happy, and the cheeriness will spread to the people around you. Who’d know, one little thing is all is takes for big change.

Lastly, SKIN INC Pure Repair+Whitening Eye Masks. I missed their Dec’11 trove which include a SkinC serum but now I get to try something from SkinC!

Our eyes are one of the most important organs with the most delicate skin around it yet they often receive the least tender loving care.

From SKIN INC, enjoy the multi-action hydrogel Collagen Brightening Eye Mask for the ultimate spa treatment for your peekers. This mask can brighten, replenish AND repair with all its goodness fully absorbed into the skin in just 20 minutes!

Besides that I also received 2 discount vouchers. 1) SkinC S$20 discount for S$150 purchases, 2) 30% discount at Nature Skin online store.

And a leaflet from Allerines Premium Tea. I think I’ve fallen in love with the tea even before drinking it.

Despite the small mishaps, I’m satisfied with my first subscription of beauty box from Vanity Trove. I’ve even subscribed for March trove. Hope there’s no missing item this time.
