Check Your Cosmetic & Skin Care Expiry Online

Click this link >>http://www.street-love.net/2016/11/beauty-products-expiry-online-calculator/ for a 2016 updated version.

How many of you bought expired cosmetics or skin care from online?

To prevent this unwanted situation, I recently discovered Check Cosmetic where you can check expiry date just by typing in the product’s batch code.

Their database is quite up-to-date and currently the following brands that are supported is as below:-
Anna Sui, Arnaud, Artdeco, Aura Cacia, Avalon Organics, Aveda, Avon, Benefit Cosmetics, Bioderma, Biotherm, Bobbi Brown, Borghese, Bourjois, Brelil, Burberry, Burt’s bees, Bvlgari, CAC, Cacharel, Carita, Caudalie, Cetaphil, Chanel, Charmzone, Christian Dior, Christina Aguilera, Clarins, Clean & Clear, Clinique, Collistar, Coppertone, Covergirl, Davidoff, DHC, Darphin, Decleor, Diesel, Dolce & Gabbana, Donna Karan, Dove, Dr.Jart+, Elizabeth Arden, Emilio Pucci, Escada, Estee Lauder, Ferragamo, Fresh, Garnier, Giorgio Armani, Giovanni Cosmetics, Givenchy, Gucci, Guerlain, Guinot, H2O+, Helena Rubinstein, Herbacin, Hugo Boss, IsaDora, Janson, Janssen Cosmeceutical, Jo Malone, Joe Blasco, Kanebo, Kenzo, Kerastase, Kiehl’s, Korff, L’Occitane, L’Oreal, La Colline, La Mer, La Prairie, La Roche-Posay, Lab Series, Lancaster, Lancome, Laneige, Lierac, MAC, Make Up Factory, MAKE UP FOR EVER, Mary Kay, Matis, Matrix, Mavala, Max Factor, Maybelline, Mentholatum, Missha, NARS, NYX, NailTek, Naomi Campbell, Neutrogena, Nina Ricci, Nivea, Nuxe, Olay, Oriflame, Origins, Orlane, Paul Mitchell, Payot, Phyto, Pupa, Ralph Lauren, Redken, Revlon, RoC, SK-II, Sally Hansen, Sans Soucis, Sephora, Shiseido, Shu Uemura, Sisley, Skin79, Sofina, Talika, Thalgo, The Body Shop, The Face Shop, Tom Ford Beauty, Tommy Hilfiger, Too Faced, Ungaro, Vichy, Viktor & Rolf, Yves Rocher, Yves Saint Laurent.

Let’s try with Clinique Blended Face Powder and Brush #02 Transparency 2 (VF) which I bought in August 2011. The batch code stated is BA0. Clinique users might know how to read the code. But what if you can’t remember which is which?

First step. Go to http://checkcosmetic.net/.

Second step. Select the brand which in this case is Clinique and key in the batch code in the cosmetic calculator located on the top left side of the page. Click Calculate!

Finally. The result is shown at the same panel. There you go 🙂

By far Clinique batch code is the easiest to read off. I still can’t read Clarins batch code yet. I will try to remember the sequence as most of my skin care is Clarins afterall 🙂

    • Hi Jennifer, as far as I remember Check Cosmetic do have Shiseido. I’ve check it before but recently, according to Check Cosmetics news…there is an unconfirmed notice saying Shiseido does not include production date information into the batch codes anymore therefore it was removed. Here’s the article http://checkcosmetic.net/2014/02/shiseido-batch-codes-notice/

Any other than Check Cosmetics I can’t find any online checker for Shiseido anymore 🙁

  • Shiseido is not actually on the list there…. 🙁

    • Yes. It was removed with a reason. Do read up their explanation on the removal.

  • Dear Fiona,

Thanks so much for your beauty info.

Can you teach me how to check the date code for Mandom Beauty, e.g. their Barrier Repair is very popular in Asia.

    Thanks Fiona!

    • Hi Jay, apologize. I have no knowledge on the brand. Usually such product will have a date stated on the packaging or the bottle itself.

  • Cosmetic products which shelf life is less than 30 months must be marked with “Best before” date according to common regulations in the most of the countries. Such products can no longer meet safety requirements as soon as expiry date has been passed. It’s not mandatory to have such labeling for the cosmetic products which shelf life exceeds 30 months. Most of such products should not be harmful even after the expiration; but they can change smell, color, texture or simply become useless. Purchasing such product could mean wasted money.
