CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster 1
When I ran out of facial scrub a few weeks ago, this CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster landed on my review desk not too long ago. Together with a mountain of products stashed on top of it, I had forgotten about this until one day I felt the need to exfoliate. Story cut short, I had to dive into my stash of skincare to look for this Invisible Peeling Booster lol.

I am sure many of you have heard of this brand CNP Laboratory. It is not foreign but a new brand I am exploring here in Street Love. Invisible Peeling Booster is not new either. It was first introduced to patients as home maintenance step to prolong the results of the skin treatment. This product actually was developed by CNP skin doctors specifically to boost the efficacy of their skincare products. Many people detest to micro-beads face exfoliating. I on the other hand love a good ol’ facial scrub with beads in it. Not those gel beads that was banned as it was harmful to our environmental but the kind of beads that you can actually feel it scrubbing your face. Yeah, it is not a secret I like my facial scrub that way 😀 . For someone who put on makeup on daily basis, removing dead skin cells once a week is very important to stimulate new skin cells growth and also in order for skincare products applied thereafter to takes effect.

CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster 2
Invisible Peeling Booster works like a toner except that it does the exfoliating at the same time, thanks to the key ingredient Polyhydroxy Acids (PHA). PHA is a formula exclusively developed by CNP Laboratory after extensive of research and development. PHA is actually less aggravate than other acids found in other facial peels such as AHA and BHA. The instruction on the box said to apply twice a day after cleansing. The product itself does feel and looks like a toner but a tad bit thicker. It is said that our skin will regenerate to a healthy state in 7 days and works as a booster function to allow the skin to absorbed all the skincare products applied thereafter. The 7 skin improvements claims includes:

  1. Boost dead skin cell removal
  2. Refine skin tone
  3. Increase skin transparency
  4. Brighten skin tone
  5. Provide long lasting hydration
  6. Regulate sebum
  7. Reduce redness

After using CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster for a good two weeks now, I find that is it too drying to be used twice a day for my dehydrated skin. I am seeing a brighter skin tone that even stranger passerby told me I looked glowing. It also balance out my oil and moisture balance of my skin that my face no longer oils up like crazy like how it used to be. Maybe because of this, my dehydrated skin became drier that even my pores are larger now. I know my skin are really dehydrated by just looking at the pores and by judging how I had a hard time applying foundation. So I cut down the usage from twice to once a day. It has been a few days since I changed the usage so I cannot tell you how it fares now but I can tell you it is certainly better.

CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster 3
Invisible Peeling Booster also has two other key ingredients such as CNP Anti-Irritant Complex, a highly potent extract from pomegranate, fig, Chinese quince, codonopsis pilosula and lemon that acts as a soothing balm for the skin. Natural Moisturizing Factor (NMF) Complex on another hand is to boost hydration to the skin. Weirdly, I saw how “gooey” the product consistency are but it is not too hydrating for my overly dehydrated skin.

Honestly speaking, despite the fact that I cannot feel the micro-beads scrub that I love for my facial scrub, this product is the best option to not over-exfoliate the skin. It does takes some time to get used to for me at least. I am reading the press release now only to find out that the Invisible Peeling Booster is supposed to be used in the evening ONLY after cleansing and before toner!! The instruction on the box is totally different. What is on the box are “after facial cleansing in the morning and at night, apply a moderate amount on the entire face evenly at the first step of skincare regimen”. Now, that is misleading. It is not supposed to be used day and night twice a day and toner is a must to apply after the peel. I did wonder at the beginning why we need to peel twice a day. Obviously I was using too much and did not follow up with toner as per the box instruction hence the dehydrated skin! Major #facepalm moment.

CNP Laboratory Invisible Peeling Booster is available at selected 48 Watsons stores, hermo.my and yesbeauty.my.

Price: RM129.80 for 100ml

Oh hello! I am back for another face scrub review 🙂 . I love face scrub. I especially love using face scrub after a long day of having makeup on. Face scrub is also a good way to scrub of all the dead skin cells from the skin surface and to remove all the yucky stuff that are stuck in the pores. Talking about face scrub already got me so excited. Let me excite you more with another fantabulous product that I have been using for a good few months. And I am hitting the bottom of the jar of Skin Food Black Sugar Mask.

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask
First of all, please ignore the beat up label on the Skin Food Black Sugar Mask cap 😀 . I had it on the vanity shelf in my bathroom and water got onto the cap like no body’s business. I have really been enjoying the product and I tried not to be as generous as I am on the usual so that I can have this scrub longer. I managed to drag it for a few months and I keep reminding myself to review this since I am about to finish the tub. Lucky me that I remember this time round!

Now, we all know how I like my face scrub to be. I like to feel the scrub grains scrubbing my face. Most of you, don’t. There is nothing wrong with that. We are just different individual and we each have our own preference. The Skin Food Black Sugar Mask is in the middle of that. It is an exfoliating wash-off scrub-slash-mask that leaves skin clean and revitalized. It contain sugar bits in it that acts as the scrubbing grains.

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Product
On the look itself, it does look harsh on the skin. Once I scooped it out from the tub and applied it on my face, I was not expecting the scrub to be this soft. It smells absolutely yummylicious and sweet. Of course. It is a black sugar after all. Have I tried licking it? You bet lol! It is sugar alright. No doubt about it.

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Texture
Sugar usually do not melt with scrubbing motion. This one does. It melts and get sticky watery as I massage it on my face. I would scoop out a big dollop, warm the product slightly using both palm and massage all over the face. It has a little bit of warm sensation. It is not as harsh as I expected it to be, which will be a good news for most people. I like it as I can massage the scrub longer on my face without face feeling sore or pain. As this Black Sugar Mask also acts as a mask, you are recommended to leave the scrub on for 10 to 15 minutes, which I don’t. No particular reason. Just that I forget all the time and because I massage the product longer, I guess I am alright.

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask Texture 2
No wonder this Black Sugar Mask are sold out ALL THE TIME. It is ridiculously good. It makes my skin feels clean and good. It makes me feel good and happy. I only use this face scrub once a week. I try to scrub lesser these days as my skin are slightly dry now. However when I do use this face scrub, I am amazed with how smooth, soft and clean my face is thereafter. Rinsing on the other hand is easy peasy. Just make sure to rinse thoroughly to get all the sugar off the face 😀

Skin Food Black Sugar Mask is available at all Skin Food outlets or online stores. Just google 🙂 . I bought mine from Althea for RM26.

Online Store: Althea, Hermo

Price: RM26 (Althea), RM26.91 (Hermo promo price as at 10/1/16)

A few weeks ago I walk into Watsons looking for the cheapest drugstore facial scrub and walk out of Guardian instead with the most expensive scrub available – St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I’ve ran out of counter brand facial scrub and I thought I would try something more affordable as recommended by all of you previously. My requirement for a facial scrub is simple. I prefer something with scrub beads in it and something that gives me the scrub-like feeling when using. Most of the scrub I see is either too watery or with no beads at all. I’m very traditional on this. A scrub need to look and feel like a scrub. St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub gives me just that.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub
What’s ironic was I used to hate St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I remember about 10 years ago I bought a tube of this scrub as it was ‘the’ scrub highly raved and recommended by everyone. I hated it so much because the scent is smelly and unbearable. Fast forward to a few years later, once again I heard my friends talking about this scrub being the best they’ve ever used. I cannot help but to wonder how can they tolerate with such a yucky smell on their face. When I saw this newly improved St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub, I have no choice but to flipped the cap open and took a sniff. Now I don’t do this normally but I had to smell it. And it smells so good!

I’m not sure if there is any changes with the scent or the formula as the one I have smells like crap and this one is totally different. It’s like a twin from a different mother, if that make any sense.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub New Look v3
I happened to remember an article I read some time ago saying this product is harmful as the ingredients are not as natural as it claimed to be. The product itself says that it is a product for blemish control and to minimize pores. To be frank, I treat a scrub as a face exfoliator that does nothing but to remove the old layer on top of the skin so that newer skin can resurface. So I don’t believe in all the ‘blemish control’ or ‘minimize pores’ claims. The said article also mentioned that some people used it twice a day as they thought they can “scrub the acnes away”.  Ideally if your skin is healthy, your skin will be less oily therefore you will get lesser if not no acne AND with lesser oil means your pore size is reduced. What I’m trying to say is, don’t rely on the scrub for an acne-free skin and for smaller pores.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub Dollop
I personally didn’t experience anything bad with this Blemish Control Apricot Scrub. I’m only using it once a week to exfoliate whiteheads off my chin mainly and as much as the article hated this product, I find it to be helpful in getting rid of white gunks and makes my skin smoother. Although you can see scrub beads in the cream, it doesn’t feel harsh at all. In fact it’s more gentle comparing to Clarins Gentle Refiner Exfoliating Cream. But do bear in mind this may be too harsh for you if you have dry, very dry and sensitive skin. I happen to have a skin that can tolerate with slightly harsher skin care so it works out well for me 🙂

And here’s the ingredients list if you’re interested.

Would I be repurchasing this? Probably not. It’s quite good on me but I want to try other product instead. There are so many more facial scrub which I’ve yet to try 😀

Have you tried this St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub before? It’s kinda like a staple for everyone I know and I’m curious if you’ve tried it too. I am probably the last person on Earth to use this. I’m a late bloomer lol.

St. Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub is available at all leading pharmacies and major supermarket outlets nationwide.

Price: RM21.90. I bought for RM18.60 during sales period.

Have you heard of the term “no makeup makeup”? No makeup makeup is pretty much self-explanatory but for those who is new to makeup, here’s my interpretation of the term no makeup makeup 😛 . No makeup makeup is where the makeup you applied on appear invisible or flawless and yet still flaunt your features and natural beauty. Usually a no makeup makeup look uses less product with mostly natural and light shades. As a matter of fact, I’ve been doing the no makeup makeup look daily for the past two weeks just for fun. Okay, now that you know what is no makeup makeup, this brings me to the product that I want to talk about today – a “no scrub scrub” Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush.

Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush
Let’s face it. Not everyone is born with smooth, flawless skin. I certainly don’t. But I don’t sit and blame for what’s already given to me. I like to search for ways and products to turn things for the better. Skin care had helped me with my skin a lot over the past few years, 3-years to be exact. My pores are easily congest with dirt, sebum/oil, makeup residue and even air pollutant too will cause blockage to the pores. I personally feel sebum and makeup residue is the biggest contributor to my clogged pores. That is why I like to use facial scrub and clay mask A LOT to get rid of congested skin problems such as blackheads and whiteheads.

I used to scrub my face three times in a week because my skin was that bad and I do see a difference when I do keep up with the routine. However as time goes by I notice that my skin is getting oilier. At my age, this can only mean one thing. I over-scrub my face! Holy moly Mother of God. So since end of 2013, I would only use facial scrub once every two weeks but of course that means I will see more blackheads and whiteheads. Then this came along 😀

Introducing the NEW Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush. It looked like a shaving brush to me at first LOL. But nope. The bristles are thinner than hair and each brush consists of a whopping 350,000 of 0.045mm superfine fibres!

Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush Size
Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush comes in a palm-fit size, made from a smooth antibacterial hardwood for the handle which is shaped like a slanted tear drop shape with aluminium (I assume) ferrules that holds all the 350,000 superfine fibres bristles. The brush doesn’t came in such a fluffy shape actually. It’s more condensely shaped but once I’ve used it and dries it, the bristles are now in such a cute and fluffy shape. At the tip of the wooden handle, there is a rope for you to hang to dry after use.

Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush Bristles
I couldn’t stop touching and running my fingers across all the ultra-soft bristles the minute I took out the brush from its original box. I showed it to my mum and dad and both of them literally shocked with the softness that they keep asking me what is it for and why is it so soft 😀 .

The reason why the bristles are this superfine is to ensure each bristle are able to cleanse deep into pores effectively to eliminate dirt, makeup residues, blackheads and impurities. The softness of it will also enable a cleaner and silky smooth skin as well as to help reduce pore size. While the bristles lift up all the dirt and so on from deep inside the pores, it is also removing dead skin cells to revive the natural radiance of the skin.

Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush Bristle Softness
I must admit, it took me quite a few usage to really get the grip of using the Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush to cleanse my face. I’m too used to conventional scrubbing that I wasn’t used to no scrub scrub face cleansing. I kept thinking maybe the cleanser is not enough or there wasn’t any cleanser on my face because I couldn’t feel anything at all. I’m not kidding. It is so soft that it feels like I wasn’t washing my own face. Cleanser foams up effortlessly with the use of this brush and the foams are smoother and finer too. Just one note, there’s no need to use too much cleanser. You’ll spend more time rinsing the brush clean later on 😛

Here’s how I use it. Usually it’s on the whole face but for this review I’m going to just concentrate on the middle of my face because that’s where I have the most blackheads. Plus, the Before and After comparison would be more prominent 🙂 . For this I would suggest to pair with Yadah Anti-Trouble Bubble Cleanser as it’s a pH-balanced cleanser to maintain the natural acidity and moisture level of the skin while fighting acne break-outs by cleaning deep into the pores and it contain natural salicylic acid from wintergreen leaves to regulate sebum/oil levels and to draw out impurities from pores. If you don’t have any, just pair with any anti-blackhead or deep cleansing cleanser will do.

Please ignore the eczema red patch on my right eyebrow. It’s itchy and I’ve been scratching non-stop lol.

Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush With Cleanser on Face
And here’s the Before and After using Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush for just three times with a week gap between first and second use with third use. I hang the brush to dry in my room that why I’ve forgotten about it.

Notice how much clearer my nose is? Especially the middle part. I must have kept swirling the brush non-stop there 😀

Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush Before and After
Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush would be a perfect alternative for dry skin to sensitive skin users that didn’t have the privilege to deep cleansing their skin before this. I do know quite a number of people who doesn’t like to use facial scrub or clay mask with the reason it’s too harsh or it’s too drying for their skin. This brush is a 2-in-1 brush that help to cleanse face as normal and to deep cleansing all the impurities from inside the pores. It is nothing like Clarisonic or Olay Professional Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System or even the latest gadget from Mary Kay. This one uses manual hand movement (good for biceps), mild on the skin and most importantly it works just as claimed. I did went gaga over this brush when I first lay my eyes on it because (1) I’ve never seen any pore cleansing brush before and (2) it’s uber cute.

Yadah Deep Pore Cleansing Facial Brush Bristle Softness 2
