Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil
Who here like to oil themselves up before bed time? I am a hardcore in bed time routine that I oiled myself up from top to bottom before I sleep with body oil body cream, hand cream, foot cream, face oil, face cream, neck cream, and everything else lol. I know, you must be wondering how do I sleep and how dirty my bed sheets are, eh? I’ve been on the beauty oil aka face oil bandwagon on and off for the past few years. Ever since I was told I need to apply beauty oil ON my oily skin, it has been life changing. Who would have thought applying beauty oil on oily skin can balance the skin’s water and oil level?

To date, I have gone through several bottles of beauty oil from different brands. Some was good while some doesn’t impress me that I took longer to go through them. Typically I do not apply beauty oil on day time under the makeup for fear it will make my makeup “float” on top of the skin as the day goes by. However, this Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil is a different story. It is the first beauty oil I’ve used that is not oily and I’m able to have it under my makeup. Everyone is talking about the beauty oil sale at TNS Skin Lab because all of them are on 20% OFF and it is really cheap for a beauty oil. So I thought I would tell you about this Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil before the sale ended.

This year would be Trilogy’s 15 years in the industry. And to celebrate the milestone, Trilogy came out with this No. 15 Beauty Oil which has 15 super-seed oil blend such as Adansonia digitata (baobab) seed oil, Macadamia (macadamia) ternifolia seed oil, Prunus armeniaca (apricot) kernel oil, Vitis vinifera (grape) seed oil, Ribes nigrum (black currant) seed oil, Prunus avium (sweet cherry) seed oil, Lycium chinense (goji) fruit extract, Pongamia glabra (karanja) seed oil, Aleurites moluccanus (kukui) seed oil, Brassica alba (mustard) seed oil, Carica papaya (papaya) seed oil, Passiflora incarnate (passion flower) seed oil, Pistacia vera (Pistachio) seed oil.

Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil Bottle
All the ingredients are sourced all over the world to make this so-called super oil. If you look at the ingredient list, this beauty oil has nothing but pure plant oils. Each ingredient has its own benefits but to sum this beauty oil up, it is a product that promote healthier skin. That’s it? Of course not. Nowadays literally all skincare helps to protect the skin against environmental aggressors and so does this No. 15 Beauty Oil. It also repairs the skin. So do not expect anything less from this little brown bottle.

Speaking of the bottle, I like that Trilogy packaged their super oil in a brown amber bottle as this type of bottle are known to help protect the content from deteriorating. Having said that, it doesn’t mean you can open this up and let it sit for years and years. No. It means you don’t have to worry the oil will go bad in a short period of time after it is opened.
Like any other beauty oil, it comes with a glass pipette. The oil is quite liquidy in texture so you don’t really have to squeeze the dropper hard to dispense 2 – 3 drops of oil.

Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil Dropper
Texture wise, it is liquidy. It has a light yellow color to it. When it comes to all natural product, I am quite particular with the scent. This one does have an earthy scent to it. Not my favourite but as long as it doesn’t make me nauseas, I am fine 🙂

For day time usage, I am sticking to what the instruction said – 2 – 3 drops. It’s not enough for me and I didn’t want to screw up my makeup so it is fine. But for night time, I go all out. I used 4 drops at least, warm it up with both of my palm and pat onto my face section by section. It goes on the face dry because you are patting the product onto the skin. It stays dry, non-sticky and not oily. It’s really odd for a beauty oil but I like it this way.

Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil Texture
Want a good news? Here’s a good news. This Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil may be a limited edition item that has a whopping FIFTEEN types of pure plant oil but, it is also the cheapest item within TNS Skin Lab. It is currently retailing for RM86.40 for 30ml  after 20% OFF from RM108. That is one good deal for a pure plant beauty oil that has not even one single bad ingredient. Just 15 super seed oil blend!

Trilogy No. 15 Limited Edition Beauty Oil is available at all TNS Skin Lab outlets nationwide and online at http://www.mytnsskinlab.com/.

Price: RM108, currently on 20% OFF which makes this beauty oil only RM86.40!!

The L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program was made available at our local L’Occitane stores in October 2015 and at that time I was dealing with some life issues that I was not about to put this program for a trial and to tell you about it. But fret not. I am finally on my last week of the program and I can finally tell you about it.

L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program
This L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program would be my first time ever indulging into such skin renewal program and honestly, I do not know what to expect but a skin that is 100% better than my current condition. Afterall this program does not come cheap.

Let’s take a step back and learn a bit about the best-seller range – the Immortale Divine anti-ageing range. This face care collection was created in 2009. The secret to the Divine range is the golden elixir that is precious but yet so natural. It is called Immortelle. The signature bright yellow hue of this legendary flower (known as Helichrysum in Latin) simply means ‘golden sun’. Immortelle flower is known for its ‘eternal life’. That is because this particular flower does not wilt even after they are picked. AMAZING.

Now, L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program, as the name suggests is a skin renewal program for 28 days. Basically you only use this at night and nothing else for subsequent 28 days non-stop. In a year, it is only recommended to use maximum 2 times. Why 28 days? Well, our skin takes 28 days to regenerate. This program is designed to work in harmony with our skin’s natural rhythms. It comes in a super luxe golden box, which contain 4 rows of weekly treatment vials.

L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program Vials
Each row of vials has number printed on them as an indication of which week is the treatment for.

  • Week 1: Gentle Exfoliation – getting rid of pore-clogging dead cells.
  • Week 2: Hydration and Nutrition – strengthen new cells, nourish and moisture skin.
  • Week 3: Balance – rebalance skin, promote skin wellbeing and preparing the skin for final step.
  • Week 4: Renewal – gives skin radiance and plumpness as well as to prevent signs of ageing.

L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program Vials 2
The oil is dry oil, which means it is not as oily as other beauty or face oil. However it is still oil so it tends to get messy AND oily especially if each vial (1ml) is for one usage only. No matter how you don’t like it, you will still need to use up the whole vial each application, not saving it for next day or whatsoever. Remember this is a 28 Day renewal program, not 56 days 🙂

I was told to use nothing but this oil at night time only. I have to say, I like how simplified my night routine has been. The effect will be more enhanced if I used Melvita Nectar Supreme The Eye & Lip Contour Cream and La Créme, which I will talk about end of this week 😉 .

Week 1

The first week is the toughest for me as the oil is somewhat more oily and heavy. But I managed to find away around it. What I do is to use an exfoliating cotton pad with toner and wipe it all over my face before using this face oil. Somehow this small step of mine managed to help the oil absorption. First I dispense some oil onto my palm ,warm with both palm and pat onto my face. Then I do the same and apply onto my neck and décolleté. Since there is some oil left, I repeated the same process onto my face again and then neck. The gap application gives my face time to absorb the oil so when I go back for the second round application, my face just soak everything in. However, there are still a lot of oil left on the surface of my face.

Week 2

The second week is better. The oil feels lighter comparing to first week. By the second week, I notice some changes with my skin. I have a brighter and smoother skin. I have heard that some experienced small bumps or breakout but I had the otherwise. No breakout. Instead, breakout seems to subside even faster with this oil.

Week 3

On week three, I had some breakout but not from the oil. It was hormonal breakout aka monthly breakout. I knew the oil will helped to tame it down and it did. I still keep my toner routine the same i.e. using an exfoliating cotton pad to prep the skin. I still feel this helps a lot in the oil absorption. Week 3 oils are lighter than week 2. I only left with very little oil for my face and décolleté. But this particular week I feel a bit tired with all the excess oil floating on my face.

Week 4

My favourite of all. Not because I was about to finish the program but the oil seems smoother and lighter. It feels as if the content was lesser. It’s not 🙂 . Still the same 1ml each vial. The oil feels more watery and less oilier. The whole week I did not have extra for my neck and décolleté at all. My face takes in everything. I used what’s left on my palm for the neck and décolleté.

L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program Before and After
The above is the Before and After. With the amount of oil I piled up on my face for the past 28 days, I did not feels that my face is oilier during the day. Instead my face was glowing underneath makeup. Although I have heard that some people can’t take in that much oil on their face and they experienced bumps and breakouts, I was the opposite. I honestly did not think my skin would take it. I envisioned massive breakout 😛 . Whenever I have a pimple popping out, it disappeared the next day. I believe my skin regenerated much more faster with this oil. If I have itchy fingers and I tried to pop a pimple, the oil will clear the wound away the next day.

My advice is to avoid the eye area during application. Sometimes I forget about it and just pat away, only to get a slight sting on my eye when I was about to sleep. No reaction on my eyes, just blurry vision lol.

Overall, I think this is a worthwhile renewal program to splurge once or twice a year. Thank goodness it is not recommended to use all year long or I will go cray cray with the amount of beauty oil on my face. I like the scent most of all. It smells, divine! I definitely like how the oil cleared my pimples and how smooth or glowy my skin is under makeup. I am also thankful that my crazy skin takes in all the oil like a trooper and not giving me breakout. Definitely a recommended program if you want to regenerate or renew your skin from the dull state 😀

L’Occitane Immortelle 28 Day Divine Renewal Program is available at L’Occitane stores nationwide or online at http://my.loccitane.com/

Price: RM588. Comes with 28 vials of 1ml each vial.

First of all sorry for the super late review post that I was suppose to post up earlier. I was piled with lots of backlog last month and I’m glad I can finally get to my precious Marula Oil review now. Hope it’s not too late!

Last month I attended the Malaysia launch and did a brand introduction post on Marula Oil from The Leakey Collection. I also helped with inviting a few of my blogger friends to attend this exclusive and intimate launch. Hope you’ve been reading that previously as I’m not going to elaborate deeply into how, what and why but instead I’m going to review the product after using it for more than a month now.

Marula Oil is an East African product long-renowned for it’s superb anti-aging and healing properties. It is wild-harvested from marula nuts in East Africa and cold-pressed to retain it’s full goodness. Did you know that a 54 kilos of marula nut is needed to produce into this 50ml bottle? Now you know. Marula Oil is different from any other beauty oil that you’ve heard for example argan oil. It contain more oleic acids and antioxidants than grapeseed or organ oil.

Each bottle is packaged in a paper box securely. The inner lid with a hole tucked on the top cap of the bottle so that the bottle is not able to move that easily in the box. The shelf life of the product is 3 years. Once opened it is recommended to finish the bottle within 6 months.

Marula Oil from The Leakey Collected is the purest facial oil that I or you can find in the market. It is expensive because it is so pure that it’s made from 99% of Marula Oil and the rest is a blend of essential oil fragrance. There are other brand of marula oil selling cheaper but it’s not 99% made from marula oil therefore it’s selling for a cheaper price. I’m glad I didn’t see any other brand of marula oil in the market here in Malaysia beside this 🙂

Each bottle is sealed with a security sticker bearing the name Marula at the back. I’m always excited and happy when I see a security sticker. It is an assurance that the bottle is new and unopened. Tear it off and you are good to go!

Call me a noob but I’ve never seen such a dropper bottle before. Marula Oil bottle comes with an automatic pump glass dropper! When I twist the cap, the top part of the cap automatic revealed itself. That means it automatically pumped the oil up to the glass vial. All I need to do is to gently press on the top of the cap to drop a few drops onto my palm. That’s it. It’s really very easy and convenient to use. Making me not lazy to implement this facial oil into my night regime.

The first thing my nose picked up when I took off the cap is lavender. I’m sure my nose picked up a tiny bit of marula oil smell but I guess lavender dominant it lol. Not too bad since I like lavender and it’s really calming taking a sniff even before patting on the face.

I was told that just 2 drops is enough and sufficient for the whole face and neck. At first I used 2 drops but later on finds that I needed more so I put on 2 drops first and another one or two drops on top. I always go with 2 drops first.

Marula Oil is different because it is fast absorbing. Due to its high levels of oleic (omega-9 acid at 60-70% concentrations) it easily penetrates the skin and provides longer lasting hydration. It is also an excellent source of topical antioxidants. This free radical fighting capability is very important for skin healing and anti-aging. It is also an excellent moisturizer that can help plump up skin to reduce fine lines. Just look at how plump the back of my hand is as soon as the oil absorbed in! The before and after picture below says a thousand words 🙂

Besides it’s anti-aging and hydration power, Marula Oil is also known for it’s healing power and are currently widely used by women who undergo cancer radiation treatment.

Dr. Kaidi undertook a 24 patient clinical study to determine the efficacy of Marula Oil in treating damaged skin following radiation therapy for breast cancer. Patients were divided into 2 treatment groups. Patients in group 1 were instructed to apply the Marula Oil to affected skin twice daily for skin healing, while group 2 patients were instructed to apply a skin moisturizer. The patients were examined weekly for 6 weeks. The Marula Oil treated group had a more rapid resolution of erythema and edema. Patients described Marula Oil as soothing and fast absorbing.

I’ve been using Marula Oil continuously every night after eye care before my usual skin care. It gave me a similar result that a hydrating moisturizer gave me. The only different is this only require 2 drops. I always woke up to a supple skin. To be honest ever since I started using Marula Oil my foundation glides on smoothly onto my skin. Not only waking up to a supple skin, I find that I have brighter skin too. It’s amazing that this bottle have all the goodness; anti-aging, hydrating, brightening. Soon I can foresee myself cutting down the rest of my skin care in the nearest future. Being an avid beauty/facial oil user I kinda like this one. It’s pretty much like a skin care comparing to Clarins Lotus Face Treatment Oil which is more like a treatment oil for oily or breakout skin. So there’s a different with Marula Oil if you ask me.

On the weekend where I don’t put on any skin care or make up, I will only put on Marula Oil. I don’t find it oily or sticky at all eventhough I’ve been walking around town for some errands. And when I took a short afternoon nap I woke up with a beautiful brighter skin. Oh and I know you must be wondering if it broke out on me. The answer is NO 🙂

It’s hard to put in words how wonderful Marula Oil is to the skin unless you try it personally. Marula Oil is suitable for all skin type even oily skin. This will balance out the oil secretion if you have oily or combination skin. If you are allergy to nut, apply a small amount on the back of your hand and leave it for a few hours. If you have no irritation or allergy effect that means it is safe for you to use. It takes a lot of courage to put oil onto the face. But once you’ve tried you’d fall in love with facial oil like me 🙂

Marula Oil contains no preservatives and is a free-trade, vegan and cruelty-free product from The Leakey Collection.
It is available exclusively at http://bellez.com.my/ and Vitacare KLCC & Mid Valley.
Price: RM299 for 50ml

When I’m too lazy to do facial mask at home or facial at beauty salon, I turned to the one and only bottle. This miraculous product goes by the name of Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil with Organic White Tea. Come to think of it…no wonder I keep skipping my facial mask for the past one month. That’s because I knew I can always reach for this bottle for some boost.

This instant facial product comes in a glass dropper bottle. I like that the bottle is opaque so that I can keep this precious longer and take my sweet time using it. The content is only at 25ml. But more than enough to lasts you for months with just 1-2 drops each use.

The benefit list of this facial oil is quite impressive and long. When I first read it online I was like really? Linden Leaves call this “miracle in a bottle”. I couldn’t agree more. Not on first usage but after several usage. I wasn’t sure what I was looking for the next day when I woke up. Then it hit me. Which explains why it took me several usage to really get it lol! The natural ingredients in this claimed to give your skin the ultimate indulgent facial revealing instant hydration, smoothness and brightness. You don’t use this everyday though. I only use this facial oil when my skin need the extra oompph.

Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil key ingredient and benefits are:

  • Organic white tea to protect and effectively aid skin regeneration.
  • Tonka bean to soften and brighten the skin.
  • Organic rosehip oil to help minimise visible signs of ageing.
  • Organic evening primrose oil for its effective healing properties.

One thing I have to compliment is the outer box packaging. It’s rather “different” and unique. Not your usual box that can be found elsewhere. This unique design makes the opening of the box much more easier than conventional box. The message “Made With Love” warms the heart of any user that flipped the box lid off.

The bottle sit comfortably in the box. As you can see there’s lots of “Made With Love” printed all over the inner side of the box. Mucho mucho love.

I like that there’s a slot hidden at the back for the product booklet. Everytime I put the bottle back into the box I don’t get agitated as it doesn’t get into my way. Brilliant concept isn’t it?

The glass dropper pipette also carries an unusual design and look. The dispenser hole is round and not pointy like others. It took me quite a while to get used to it but overall it works just like normal dropper pipette. I think by now I should realize everything about this product is unique from the rest 🙂

The facial oil on the other hand is in golden yellow color. It’s much more rich than other facial oil in my opinion. At first sniff it smells okay and the scent is like herbal to me. Just two drops on the palm is more than enough. One thing I notice is that the oil is quite warm even before I warm it with both palm.

This is one drop of Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil. It doesn’t budge on the back of my hand at all as I mentioned earlier it’s quite rich.

Warm miraculous facial oil with both palm and it absorbed easily into the skin. I don’t swipe the facial oil on my face as I feel it works better patting it on.

There’s 2 ways of using this facial oil and I’ve tried both ways.
1) Apply Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil alone before serum and moisturizer.
2) Put 1-2 drops into your favorite moisturizer, mix and apply.

Personally I prefer the conventional way which is to apply Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil alone before following up with my usual serum and moisturizer. With this method I can see better and visible result the next day.

I can tell you I like this product not because I’m an avid facial oil user but because it really gave me the boost of hydration and brightening that I need. It’s more obvious when my skin is in a bad state if I work late and skipped my night skin care routine. If I do plan to skip my skin care routine I make sure I grab this bottle and pat it on before going to sleep. Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil deliver what it claimed. I do notice softer, brighter and hydrated skin. Its way better than Clarins Beauty Flash Balm! So far it doesn’t give me break out *touch wood* just in case you’re wondering.

I can’t however catch the scent. I’m not sure if I’m smelling White Tea? Tonka Bean? Rosehip Oil or Evening Primrose Oil. What I’m smelling is not important actually but just wanna know what is it that I’m smelling haha.

Linden Leaves Miraculous Facial Oil is available at theSkintopic Pavilion KL and Subang Parade Mall.
Price: RM196 for 25ml
