When a parcel containing Men’s Bioré Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam arrived my doorstep a month ago, my mind was racing trying to get my heads around on how am I suppose to review a facial foam that is meant for men. Some girls do use their men’s skin care. Well, I don’t. I was left with two choices. I could either ignore the PR sample parcel that I received or I could pass it to my brother. So I happily snap a photo of the product and Whatsapp it to my brother. To my surprise, le brother was excited that a company FINALLY sent me men skin care, which eventually will go to him 😀

Men’s Bioré Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam is the newest edition as an extension to the brand’s newly launched Double Scrub range. Double Scrub is a range that offers specific skin care solution ranging from Deep Cleanse, Oil Control and Whitening to take care of those stubborn blackheads, oily complexion, dull complexion and of course, anti-acne solution.

Men's Biore Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam
Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam is designed and formulated for men to combat common men skin concern such as acne, oily skin and dull complexion. What it does is to go deep into the skin or pores, cleanse all the oil and dirt which is known to clog up pores and acne breakout. As you know I’m the skin care provider for my mum and now my brother as well. He uses my cleanser in the bathroom, which I’m alright with since I have 86545700633 tubes of cleanser up on the vanity rack. I was particularly telling him to use the whitening version as he does have quite a bit of acne marks from breakouts. What both of us didn’t know is he is somehow allergic to certain whitening substance that he kept getting more breakout (guilty me!). He managed to pinpoint out that it’s the cleanser that gave him continuous breakout that he switched to other cleanser and now he’s full on this Men’s Bioré Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam.

Men's Biore Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam Benefit
The main ingredient for this facial foam is Tea Tree Extracts. We all know Tea Tree Extract or Oil works as an anti-bacterial agent that control the growth of acne. The formula in it also uses Japan’s Advanced Scrub Technology with Micro-Crushable Scrub. That’s the reddish looking Red Scrub Beads you see in the cleanser below. These beads will break down during face washing and work it’s way deep into the pores to purify the skin from acne in the most gentle way. It also remove excessive oil build-up and exfoliate acne marks. But that’s not all. What I couldn’t see with my eyes is that the cleanser also contain White Scrub Beads. It coincide with the Red Scrub Beads and revitalize the skin while deeply cleanses the pores.

Men's Biore Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam Dollop
Now the question is, can we women use men’s skin care products? Men generally have thicker skin than women and their skin are more oilier, more prominent larger pore size and more acidic in pH. So it only make sense that men skin care is more stronger than women because afterall these skin care products are designed to penetrate thicker skin. I’m not sure about you but I’m certainly not comfortable with putting men skin care on my face for the long run. For fun sake, I did used this Men’s Bioré Double Scrub Acne Solution Facial Foam. I say it definitely smells more manly. The scent is just like any typical men fragrance – fresh and fragrance-y. The scent reminds me of Burberry Brit Rhythm or HUGO BOSS BOSS BOTTLED. UNLIMITED. Well, basically all other men fragrance lol. But it’s not bad. I like the smell but I couldn’t stand manly scented facial foam continuously. I’m a girl after all haha!

On me, it cleanses SO WELL. Just like what I expected. My face never felt this squeakily clean before and my face stays oil-free for the next few hours. It is truly a facial foam made for the men. Le brother on the other hand said he’s happy with the cleanser. There is no massive breakout anymore although he still get one huge pimple every two months. Not too bad comparing with what he went through previously. And it’s super affordable too. Once le brother finish these two tubes, I think we will go back for a repurchase.

A few days ago I posted a yucky picture of a used Bioré Pore Pack Black together with all the blackheads extracted from my nose at my Instagram fionastreetlove. A very dear reader, Melissa Ting requested for me to blog on which is the best nose pore strip that I have used before as she is looking to buy one. Now, you must be thinking why would a recommendation needed for pore strip. Trust me. You need to as not all pore strip works in extracting all the gunk out from the nose. I have decided not to do a comparison review between pore packs because it does take some time for the nose area to get all clogged up. I’m not going to let Melissa to wait for a month of two for a review 🙂 . So Melissa here’s one.

Bioré pore pack failed on me previously so I stay away from them. A recent Cleo magazine haul re-introduced me back to Bioré Pore Pack and it’s the Bioré Pore Pack Black. Needless to say I went to Guardian pharmacy and bought a 10 strips pack.

Biore Pore Pack Black 1
There is two types of Bioré pore pack available – white and black. Since the white one failed on me and black one works like a charm, I repurchased the Bioré Pore Pack Black. Once you have chosen which type of pore pack suits you, you will then have a choice to choose either a 5 strips pack or a 10 strips pack. I bought the 10 strips pack since it only cost me RM9.88 per pack.

The one you see on the left below is the pore strip I get from Cleo magazine. The retail version is the one on the right. On one side it is full with instruction on how to use the pore strip and on another side is a word of caution. You might want to know that this pore pack is Made in Japan too 😀 . But rest assured both is the same.

Biore Pore Pack Black 2
I won’t elaborate much on how to use the pore strip as it’s basically the same across all brands but I strongly recommend you to read through the Cautions stated on the packaging. Things like what to do when the pore strip adheres too strong on your nose and you face difficulty removing it and so on.

Biore Pore Pack Black 3
Pore strips packaging is to tear from the side. It’s completely different from sheet mask. This is because the pore strip is wider in length and you will find it so much convenient to take the strip out. Just want to highlight, nothing important 😀

Biore Pore Pack Black 4
Here’s Bioré Pore Pack Black 😀

The top part is soft to touch and feels like paper. There is three slits on top and three slits on the bottom (not visible here) which you will have to separate and loosen with dry hands before using so that the pore strip fits perfectly on your nose.

Biore Pore Pack Black 5
On the other side is a glossy surface and protected with a clear plastic liner. This is the part where it will be in contact with your skin. The glossy surface will turn to something like a glue once in contact with water. Don’t under estimate this. It will stick on the nose without any slight movement.

Biore Pore Pack Black 6

Bioré Pore Pack Black Application Tips:-

Wet the nose surface sufficiently, dry your hand and place pore strip on with glossy part facing down, press on gently and make sure there’s no air bubble. DO NOT attempt to wet the top surface of the pore strip as this will weaken the glue and affect the efficacy of the pore strip.

I made a mistake during the first few times. For some reason I thought my nose is not wet enough so I tend to wet the pore strip top surface, just like how I would do with Skin Food Egg White Pack. Skin Food one is my all time favourite. It’s more thicker and each pack comes with a strip for the forehead and chin. So adding water on the surface of the pore strip doesn’t do any harm. In fact it enhance the glue. Bioré Pore Pack Black comes in a much thinner material so wetting it further will tend to weaken the glue.

This is what happen when I do it as normal. I have difficulty removing the pore strip off my nose as the glue was so strong. I was tearing while slowly removing it but upon seeing all the blackheads on the pore strip, it’s all worth the tears 😛 . Look at all the dirt! Don’t ask me why my nose’s left side has more gunk than the right lol. Nevertheless my nose was all smooth thereafter 🙂

Biore Pore Pack Black 7
Here is the ingredient list.

Biore Pore Pack Black 8
I’ve come to the realisation that there is no way I can permanently prevent my nose from turning into a strawberry nose. No matter how pore pack cleans up all the dirt, the pore is still there. Dirt and sebum oil will still be clogging the pores up, making a new batch of blackheads. What I can do is to keep on repeating the usage of pore pack as a weekly deep cleaning treatment.

Bioré Pore Pack Black has quickly become my favourite pore pack as it’s much cheaper than Skin Food Egg White Pack. Oppss sorry Skin Food 😀 . However I don’t just stop at one pore pack. I usually keep a few different brands at home and rotate between them.

Until the next pore pack review, hope you will find this review useful. If you are still skeptical on the efficacy on you, you can always try the 5 strips pack first. I find that pore pack efficacy varies on each person. Just need to keep searching for the right one 😀

The one makeup remover that I’ve gone through bottles and bottles 2 years ago is the Bioré Cleansing Oil. 2 years ago I hated cleansing oil. I never knew about cleansing milk before and cleansing oil is the only product that was introduced to me. I hated it for being oily and messy. I hated it for being such a troublesome to use. I hated it for leaving my face oily and yucky. Then I get to know about cleansing milk all thanks to Clarins and I was on the cleansing milk bandwagon till to date.

Last year I went for a budget shopping at Watsons for the blog. If you missed the post, click here. One of the item that I picked up is the Bioré Cleansing Oil. And of course I need to use all the products I bought so I did. Slowly. Earlier this month I took out the Bioré Cleansing Oil to use and it actually felt really good on my face. I tried to recall why I fell off the bandwagon and hated it because it was really good. My guess is I have no proper idea how to use the product.

So here I am; totally into cleansing oil. I reached for this or my Eve Lom Cleanser (also emulsify to oil) to remove my makeup leaving all my cleansing milk sitting at one corner. Awww I promise I’ll be back milky!

Biore13
I like that the bottle pump is never faulty, it pumps sufficient product out and comes with a plastic stopper for travelling. The nozzle is slim and long which I appreciate very much. I hate hate hateeee short nozzle because that means my hands would need to be placed nearer to the bottle body and there’s a high possibility that I’ll splash some of the oil onto it. You know I’m a bit of a clean freak with my skin care right?

Biore14
Using this cleansing oil is really easy. If you still need to email me and ask me how to use this I’ll give you a slap on the butt LOL!

Okay, here’s how I do it. This is just me. You do whatever you think suits you and your liking kay? For my makeup I’d need 3 full pump. You may not need that much but depends on how thick is your makeup. Pump all that onto one palm and warm the cleansing oil with both palm then start making circular motion all over face. When I think I’m done (about 2-3 mins?) I’ll rinse with water. The cleansing oil with makeup residue will just rinsed off leaving no oily or sticky feeling on the face. I have no idea why I think it’s yucky last time lol. Then double cleanse. I normally follow up with another cleanser. Currently I cannot use any other cleanser than Gamila Secret Cleansing Bar. If you are not on Gamila ban, feel free to use any cleanser of your choice.

Actually this cleansing oil is also suitable to be used to remove waterproof mascara according to the label on the back of the bottle. Personally I’ve never tried using this to remove my eye makeup. I prefer to use a separate eye makeup remover first before jumping into the shower to remove my face makeup.

The scent is quite calming. I cannot describe the scent but it does smells like lavender and apple. As long as it smells good right?

For the below I’ve used O’slee HD Flawless Rosehip BB Cream all over my face which I’ll review next week.

Here is the ingredient list for those that are interested. Do take note that this cleansing oil contain mineral oil which some of you are allergic to.

Bioré received a high recognition and recommendation when it comes to their makeup remover range. Not really a winner in skin care range but maybe their cleansing range are from Japan so it’s pretty good! I’ve tried their Cleansing Oil before converting everything to Clarins which I don’t know why I stray away but I’m back to it. I did a rounding in Watsons a few months back and started filling my basket with all sorts of good budget buy products. Along that I included Bioré Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip in my shopping basket and boy I’m glad I did!

I always emphasis on a bi-phase eye makeup remover. That’s how I like it to be. I’ve tried all sorts of texture but bi-phase still works the best in terms of removing, conditioning and most important the efficiency. Usually for bi-phase removers you can see 2 layer of content. The “oil” floats on top while the water etc is at the bottom.

So what’s the top and bottom layer in Bioré Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip?
Top layer contains cleansing ingredients to soften and dissolve eye/lip makeup.
Bottom layer contains Hyaluronic Acid to keep skin hydrated.

I like the cap and the small & narrow nozzle. If you don’t squeeze the bottle…the content don’t dispense out a lot. With the narrow nozzle I can squeeze the remover onto cotton pad forming a line. That’s how I like to do it. The cap close down not so tight but secure enough.

Before using a bi-phase remover always always ALWAYS remember to shake the bottle vigorously to mix both layer evenly. What I like about this Bioré Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip is that it doesn’t separate that quickly unlike other remover. I can still take my time squeezing to a cotton pad to form a line as I said before. I tried to be cautious. Before I squeeze the content out I’d take a look at the bottle first. If I notice a slight separation I’d close the cap and shake the bottle before dispensing again.

Another thing that I like about Bioré Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip is that it’s not oily at all. My fingers stays oil-free and so are my eyes after removing. And it doesn’t sting or irritate my eyes which is a plus point!

I did a test the other day using Elite Slim Mascara which contains visible fibrous in it. I smudged the back of my hand heavily with Bioré Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip. Then I placed a soaked cotton pad onto the mascara and immediately I can see the black shadow peeking through the cotton pad. Waited for a few second and the shadow gotten darker which means the remover is doing it’s job. Then I removed the cotton pad in a wipe motion (slide it down) and everything was totally removed! Sometimes I use a cleaner side to clean leftover residue. All fibrous is totally removed as well and it’s stuck nicely on the cotton pad 🙂

I’m really liking this Bioré Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip day by day. It does it’s purpose efficiently without irritating my eyes. You know how some eye makeup remover sting and eye became red and itchy? This doesn’t do that. It’s also gentle towards the eye as I didn’t experience any lashes fall out or breakage like how I had with other makeup removers.

Bioré Makeup Remover For Eye & Lip is available at all major drugstore, supermarket and pharmacies nationwide.
Price: RM23.80 for 130ml
