One of my soft spot when it comes to magazine supplement is multicase clutch. Eventhough so I don’t buy everything I see. Just the one that I like.

Last weekend I took a casual stroll to KLCC and Kinokuniya is always my first stop whenever I’m at the mall. All the imported magazines has been rather boring for the past few months one year and local magazine on the other hand has been quite interesting. It’s good because local magazine is way more affordable than imported magazine 😀 . I was surprised to stumble upon ELLE Hong Kong February 2014 that comes with a Paul & Joe Clutch Pouch as it’s already March. I have to buy it as it’s a Paul & Joe and I thought it’s “ong” (Chinese saying for lucky) to carry something with horse print on it lol. I mean how often do you encounter a clutch pouch with horse print on it right? Right?

The magazine is retailing for RM28.90. It has Carkit price label on it still so I suppose they are the distributor or something? The clutch pouch was a love at first sight. I can’t read Chinese at all. I thought it comes with a few angpao packets judging from the blurb sticker and card at the back. The pouch is placed on top of the magazine so I took my time choosing it.

If only the pouch wasn’t glued on to the square horse print card because it is so pretty. I could have frame it and hang it in my room.

Since I can’t read Chinese at all, I thought I’m getting a multicase but it turns out to be just a clutch pouch. It is still a nice pouch so I’m quite happy with it. More rooms for notes, receipts and even my phone.

Oh remember that I said I thought there’s a few angpao packets in it as well? It turns out to be just an illustration for the pouch *&%$%^*. The pouch is meant for users to bring it during Chinese New Year house visiting to store all the angpaos collected. If only I can read Chinese…

Multicase pouch used to be quite hard to wait for. Then all magazine started to bombard with multicase and I wasn’t liking what I see so I didn’t buy any of it. LeSportSac was my first multicase pouch (also my first Mook and my first Japanese magazine buy) and it is the best buy of all. The quality is just like retail version. I have another multicase – HbG and it was so well loved that it spoilt. Throw that away a few months ago. Now I’m left with these 🙂

Next magazine haul would be a Japanese magazine of May 2014 issue that comes with Coach trial brush kit and a brush pouch. I’ve placed my reservation and now patiently waiting for the magazine to arrive in another one month time 😉

Since CNY is just around the corner and I’m already on leave so I thought I’d wake up earlier to do this makeup tips post. I have been wanting to post this up months ago but just didn’t have the time. This is a tips from Adrian Sin; Burberry and RMK Beauty Trainer which I picked up at RMK makeover last year. It is simple and yet useful and versatile for everyday wear that I’ve been implementing to my daily makeup myself.

Before I start I must mention a disclaimer in advance as I know some of you can be quite judgmental and harsh. I’m no makeup expert, this is a tips that I picked up personally from a makeup guru which I think is worth to be share to you guys as I had the privilege to meet and had my makeup done by Adrian not once but twice. And during numerous encounter with Adrian I managed to get some pointers, tips and tricks from him.

Ready?

I’m not going to talk about prep-ing your face with skin care or base makeup. I assume you guys are expert now. I’m just going to jump directly to the main topic which is using pencil eyeliner as eye makeup base.

Prior before that I prep my lid with Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP in short). I’ve been using this since last year and a tube really last long. Normally I would dust some loose powder on top of UDPP as I find that eyeshadow will crease-free longer. UDPP is not that effective for me by the way. Totally up to you if you want to dust with loose powder or not. I need it and you may not.

(1) Take your favorite pencil eyeliner. I used to use Estee Lauder Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil #01 Onyx which is a dark crayon eye pencil. But today I decided to use Guerlain Eye-Liner & Kohl which I bought a few months ago.
Just apply pencil eyeliner on the lid. Crayon eye pencil are easier to smudge so totally up to you how high you want to apply. For me I just need to line a thick line. Don’t worry about unevenness or if it’s not perfect.

P/S: Look at how smooth my under eye after StriVectin-TL™ 360° Tightening Eye Serum!

(2) After that smudge the eyeliner with a pencil brush or whichever brush that works for you. I’m using Ecotools Smudge brush. It’s small but not too small. Smudge the eyeliner upwards towards the crease. Once again don’t worry if it doesn’t look perfect.

(3) Apply eyeshadow over the lid like usual. Here I’m using Burberry Beauty Complete Eye Palette # Pink Taupe No.07. All the unperfected eyeliner will automatically become natural and doesn’t look crooked as before. Don’t worry about applying the shadow on top of the eyeliner. You’re suppose to apply over the eyeliner.

(4) This step is not necessary but I did it anyway to show you how intensify it will do to your eyes with this step. Plus it’s easier to do eyeliner after Step 1-3 as it doesn’t have to be perfect lol. In this step I did the usual 1-line eyeliner using the same Guerlain Eye-Liner & Kohl.
After that continue to do tightlining, line your lower eyelash and apply some pearl white eyeshadow to the inner corner of the eyes follow by mascara on both upper and lower eyelashes.

The end result. My eyelid are the hidden type cause I think I have huge round eyeball haha! I know you can’t see properly here but fret not. I’ve include more pictures below.

Here is the 3-view look. Click on the image for larger version. From this 3-view photo you can see that the black base is actually a lot darker than the Step 1-4 picture. It’s the lighting 🙂

I absolutely like this tips from Adrian. Not only that I can skip eyeliner when I’m feeling lazy or when I don’t have enough time to properly do an eyeliner, this simple step also makes my eyes larger and intensify the look of it. I notice that as the hours went by the black base became more natural as if it’s more blended with the eyeshadow.

I have a confession. I’ve been guarding a blusher like an eagle as it’s too precious to be used. I bought a Paul & Joe Holiday 2010 set; Paul & Joe Face Color & Lip Gloss Set back in 2011 because of this meteorites-like blusher. The set is not cheap though. I paid RM109 for the whole set. The star product of the set is none other than this Face Color C.

You might already know that Paul & Joe had pulled out from Malaysia market since April 2012. I’m savoring every last bits of what’s left in my stash and this is my precious. Paul & Joe Face Color C comes with a puffy lollipop applicator but it was too cute to be used so I kept it aside.

I’m really confuse with Paul & Joe product name and code. Almost most blusher is named as Face Color or Face Color C including this one that I had.

The blusher in real is not as dusty as the one in below picture. I carried the blusher in my hand looking for a right spot to take picture before I realized I shouldn’t be swinging the product. Thus the dusty look.

There’s only 15g of products in this small pot. The can itself is well-made while the pearls are quite red. It is also slightly perfumed but not to worry as the scent went off a few second after application.

At first I was quite worried that it might be too red for me but soon found out it’s not.

There’s only 4 different color and size pearls. Pink (1), Red (2), Pearl White (3) and Beige (4). This small can contain quite a lot of pink and red with less pearl white and beige.

I tried to swatch each pearl for you but failed to capture the beautiful color. In real the swatch on my hand is much more pigmented and pretty.

I said earlier I was worried that the color might be too red for me but funny thing is once I swirl my brush in the pot the color payoff is more towards red coral with a slight golden sheen. I like the color very much! It’s different from any other blusher. I’m mostly attracted to the goldie sheen of the blusher.

I notice that I’ve been reaching over to this blusher more than any other blusher lately. I just love the beautiful glow that it gave me.

I’m using Ecotools skunk brush to apply this blusher onto the top of my cheek. Do you know that you’re not suppose to apply blusher on the apple of your cheek directly? Instead apply blusher on top of the apple of your cheek. Simple reason behind the explanation is that when you smile it looked nice just like the picture below but when you don’t smile it looked like as if your blusher is on your face below the cheek and it looked horrible. I’ve tried this theory and it works.

For this picture I purposely intensify the application and applied on larger area on my cheek so that my camera could capture the color.

Okay. I need to hunt for more meteorites blusher.

This is so far my favorite blusher simply because the color payoff is beautiful, gives me the glow, pigmented and natural looking. But the color stained my skunk brush and the color just won’t come off. Grrrrr!

Paul & Joe Face Color C is a part of Paul & Joe Face Color & Lip Gloss Holiday 2010 set. The brand had pulled out from Malaysia in April 2012.
Price: I bought RM109 for the whole set.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored review. I bought the product on my own.
