Aveda™ Hair Care - Shampoo & Conditioner Review: Hair Care

Review: AVEDA Invati™ – A Nature’s Solution for Thinning Hair

Coming from thin hair gene family I am constantly worried that I’d face hair thinning as I grow up. I have high forehead just like mum and lesser hair on top of the head just like mum too. If you didn’t know high forehead people have lesser hair. Growing up I was constantly told by my mum that I don’t have a lot of hair. Then I found out from my aunt who’s a hair stylist a few years ago that it’s not true that I have lesser hair. I have quite a lot of hair in fact because the bottom half of my head has more hair. How delighted. But then my cousin sis started to have hair thinning problem after she gave birth to her daughters. New mum tend to have hair loss and I freak out. What if I’m the same too since I don’t have a lot of hair on top?

When Aveda introduced their new range; Invati™ which is a solution for thinning hair…I was more than happy to try out the goodies from my door gift received at the launch. You can read here for the launch event and brand introduction of Aveda 🙂

Invati™ comprises the power of Ayurveda (the ancient healing art of India) which was fused with 21st century technology—in densiplex™ and invigorating blend of turmeric and ginseng. Known for it’s effectiveness in Ayurveda, organic turmeric is the star ingredient in Invati™.

As a result of using Invati™ system hair loss is reduced by 33%*. Aveda™ is not 100% natural but it’s 97% NATURALLY DERIVED**
The new Invati™ system is clinically proven to reduce hair loss due to breakage and to help you keep the hair you have longer.

*Due to breakage, in a 12-week clinical test of the Invati™ system.
**From plants and non-petroleum minerals.

Invati™ system is very simple. Just 3-step. That’s it. It’s so simple and a piece of mind that I found myself doing the same routine every night. Cleanse, condition and rehabilitate.

InvatiTM Exfoliating Shampoo – RM108 / 200ml
In a nutshell – Removes build-up that can clog pores and renews the scalp.

This shampoo have a very strong ayurvedic herbs scent. Because it is 97% naturally derived the shampoo doesn’t foams up like your normal drugstore shampoo. At my first usage I was in a hurry. I have trouble shampooing the whole head since it doesn’t foams up and I have long hair. Partly because by the end of the day my hair is dirty and slightly oily which is normal therefore shampooing would be a bit tricky. Then I realise I need to take things slowly and shampoo my head part by part. I’ll dispense a bit on my palm, lathers up with both palm and shampoo just a small part of my head. I repeat the process until I’m done with the whole head. Don’t worry it’s not too much. Just left, top, right, middle and bottom :). Since this is treatment shampoo for thinning hair I emphasis a lot on scalp and use the remaining foam to wash the dangling hair.

What I like about this shampoo is it’s dual-function ability. It act as a exfoliator removing all build-up which can clog the pores (yes, head do have pores too) and as it remove the impurity, it renews and cleanse at the same time! So far this is the only shampoo that I’ve heard and use that can exfoliate! Don’t mistaken this as your facial scrub as this doesn’t contain any beads. It’s the ingredients and formula that do the work.

InvatiTM Thickening Conditioner – RM108 / 200ml
In a nutshell – Restores strength and improves hair elasticity, reducing breakage.

The color, texture and scent is the exact same with the shampoo. What’s so special about this conditioner is that unlike other conventional conditioner in the market…you can actually apply this ONTO THE SCALP! This is afterall thickening conditioner. Where else to apply but the scalp right? I’m being generous when it comes to this Thickening Conditioner. I’d squeeze onto my palm and use another hand to grab a bit and massage all over my scalp. Then I use both palm to massage the balance onto the dangling hair.

At first I was wondering if this “thickening” claim actually works. When I hit my second week onwards I’m constantly patting on the top of my head and then it hit me. It’s higher and bouncier which means my hair has thicken. All my full face picture taken for review shown that I have bigger head which I have to edit it out a bit cause both side bone on my head is naturally larger. I believe you can imagine how large my head is with thicker hair on large side bone lol.

InvatiTM Scalp Revitalizer – RM252 / 150ml
In a nutshell – Helps energize and rehabilitate the scalp.

This scalp revitalizer smells more stronger than the shampoo and conditioner. Just to remind you again, Invati™ contains densiplexTM which is invigorating blend of Ayurvedic herbs, including turmeric and ginseng. The recommended usage is to spray 8 times on each side of the head so in total you need to spray 16 times each time for twice a day. I couldn’t spray twice so I only spray it once a day. As you massage in, it will help to energize and rehabilitate the scalp around the follicles. Through a therapeutic massage, it is proven to help in accelerating microcirculation with it’s blend of vitamin E ingredients in it.

I believe this product is what helping my new hair growth. That’s right. I saw lots of baby hair sprouting on the top of my head since I emphasis a lot on that area. In fact this system doesn’t work that well if you didn’t use the full 3-step treatment product. I can see that the conditioner complements the shampoo while scalp revitalizer complete everything.

This gave my scalp a bit of minty, tingling sensation when I spray it on and massage in. If you have redness on your scalp this may cause a bit of discomfort but just for a few second. My mum commented saying my hair smells nice everytime I sprayed this on. As I used it more often and gotten use to it…I think it really does smells nice.

Invati™ system came out after years and years of research so the efficiency and result is higher than other treatment available. Aveda recently opened their first Experience Center at Level 3 Pavilion KL so I’d suggest those that have hair concern to drop by Aveda to get a proper consultation and to know Invati™ range more. And of course Aveda have other treatment for other concern too.

AVEDA Invati™ is available at Pavilion KL Level 3.

  • You have lots of hair. Thinning hair, mana ada? Haha. Also, some women experience hair loss after giving birth. Could be hormones. Then, I am going to cut my hair this week. So happy about it.

    • You see lots of hair cause my hair is wavy now babe. And when I ran a finger on top of my head it’s really blank.

Cut to how short? I wanna go back to straight lol

      • Could be the food we consume. Sometimes the products that we use too. Many factors. I love your wavy hair. If I have wavy hair, I look like a crazy woman. I want to cut until above bra strap.

        • No lah. Just put some hair products and it’ll tone down the frizzyness.
Above bra strap is still okay. My hair length is there now.

          • I worry too much about my hair. Straightening should be ok but coloring it, the part where bleaching is involved, that’s when I am reluctant to have my hair colored. Dry and brittle hair. Yikes, scary thought.

          • The best is still original color right?

          • Yes. I am thinking to highlight my hair sparingly.. pink and purple color. Haha. I am worried about the bleaching part though.

          • I spot Xiaxue! Haha. Cause Xiaxue have pink and purple highlight too. Can the job allow the highlight?

          • That one is hardcore. Lol. I just want highlights. Usually, hairstylist knows how to make the highlights visible yet discreet. Does this make sense to you?

          • Errr then no point having it ler

  • o,straighten hair?

    • Yeap. That’s my original hair 🙂

  • I love the prudcts photo shot! So creative 🙂 Looks like they are floating haha. My hair drops like mad, sometimes due to stress or harsh shampoo. But it is also because it is long I think. Thinking of trying to perm big waves for a change. My hair is so straight and boring -_-“

    • I need to reshoot the last product pic.
Oh. Your hair drop because it’s long. My hair is the same. If you cut it a bit shorter then it won’t drop. Just perm it!

  • I’ve cut my hair. Or rather, trimmed it. So happy with my hair now. Pic is not up yet because I am so tired. Had both good and bad day yesterday. Happy about my hair and nails, very frustrated with my friend. Blame the unpredictable weather and horrible traffic jam.
