Samsung GALAXY Note II Media Launch

If you are following my Facebook page you most probably would have guessed that Samsung GALAXY Note II is launching anytime soon. The day finally arrived! 11th November 2012 was the date. I was pretty excited on Thursday and I braved through the awful traffic jam which has gotten worse due to the rain to Zebra Square where the launch is at.

Media registration started at 7pm. I reached 7.20-ish pm and the launch had just started. I was extremely worried throughout the whole journey but soon was relieved knowing I didn’t miss the photo op of the event.

As the hall is already full with guests I stood on the side as soon as I entered the hall. It wasn’t a very good place to stand as many people walked pass, pushed and blocked my camera until I have to retake again and again.

The host of the night is none other than the beautiful Deborah Henry; Miss Universe Malaysia 2011 and Miss Malaysia World 2007.

Mr. Kwon Jae Hoon; Managing Director of Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd gave a welcome speech and initiate the launch with a wave of a wand.

He said “The GALAXY Note launched last year carved a new category of smart mobile devices, making it a milestone for Samsung. This year, we are proud to introduce the GALAXY Note II, a device infused with capabilities to help people unleash their creativity at work or at leisure,”

The launch was officiated with collage pictures appearing on the wall of the hall. It was a beautiful sight.

Luke Au; Product Manager of of Mobile Division, Samsung Malaysia Electronics Sdn Bhd gave us a walk on the features available on the GALAXY Note II.

Air View is one of the feature that I’m looking forward in this new GALAXY Note II. This feature allows people to hover with the S Pen over an email, S Note, S Planner, image galleries or videos to preview the content without having to open the file.

Another feature that I absolutely like is Easy Clip. The feature enables you to outline and crop any content any shape. You can then either save, share or paste to S Note. Simply press the S Pen button and it instantly recognizes that users want to clip or edit the selected content. Now you know why I like this feature very much right?

Colin Hew took over the product demonstration and he started with Photo Note. Remember those days where you wrote some notes about where and when the photo is taken at the back? Samsung GALAXY Note II does just that. You can even flip the photo to see the note on the back just like real photo.

After all the product demonstration, it was time for the talk show.

Three celebrities and artists were invited to join the talk show. First is Adam Carruthers aka Adam C.

Second celebrities is actor and TV host Razif Hashim.

And lastly Ernest Zacharevic, a young Lithuania-born artist.

Here’s the complete panel line for the talk show.

From left to right: Luke Au, Colin Hew, Victor Ng, Deborah Henry, Adam Carruthers, Razif Hashim and Ernest Zacharevic.

We were brought live broadcast from the street of KL with Tzer who went around asking the public how excited are they with the launch of Samsung GALAXY Note II. It was hilarious at a some point.

There’s also Q&A session with the media.

Mr. Kwon with Adam C, Razif Hashim and Ernest Zacharevic.

Two lucky person could walk away with a brand new Samsung GALAXY Note II. Our fate lies in these balloons that were hanged up with a net.

There were only one winner and we suspect the second prize is still stuck on top. When a long wood were brought in, everyone cheered lol!

The crowd went crazy again trying to win themself a brand new phone.

Finally the second winner emerged. These two were the lucky chap.

After the launch ended we adjourned out to the canopy area to get out hands on the GALAXY Note II. Dinner is also served but the queue line was so long that I decided not to go for it.

There was also “cupcake decoration” table. Not really on cupcakes but more about colors and getting creative.

I get my hands on the Samsung GALAXY Note II and boy I fell in love!

Okay. I already fell in love a week before the launch when I found out about the features that the phone offer.

It’s light and fits on my palm perfectly. It is built to be thinner and ligher with enhanced performance capabilities that facilitate efficient execution of tasks and content creation.

With a 5.5-inch HD Super AMOLED Plus screen, it gives a brilliant visual clarity. It’s 16:9 screen ratio ensures an immersive and enriched movie theater-like video viewing experience. With it’s larger screen, this phone provide enhanced readability when consuming content as compared to it’s predecessor.

This my friend is advanced S Pen that’s improved sensitivity and a redesigned body for a more natural and precise writing experience. The phone comes with a new gesture pad feature; Quick Command which allows user to use the S Pen to take shortcuts.

The Shape Match and Formula Match features of S Note help correct and digitise geometric shapes as well as solve numeric formulas that are hand-written with the S Pen ensuring an improved clarity and presentation for created content.

My colleague that went to the launch with me who is also the Editor of TechAttack.my took out his Samsung Galaxy Nexus for size comparison beside GALAXY Note II. It’s not that much of different actually. The most obvious is the length of the device.

Then he took out his iPhone 5 for another comparison. Needless to say iPhone 5 looked tiny beside the new GALAXY Note II.

The last time I pose with a phone is when I did a print ad for O2 XDA which came out in Golf Times Malaysia and Singapore lololol! Never knew I’d be posing with a phone again 🙂

Samsung GALAXY Note II will be available at all Samsung telco partners like DiGi, Maxis and Celcom from 19th October onwards RM2,299. There will be two colors available which is Marble White and Titanium Grey. Alternatively the device can also be purchased through all Samsung Elite Partners.

    • Yes I know. Can’t do anything about the protection in email subscription unfortunately. Those spam blogs don’t normally subscribe to blogs. They just copy online.

Actually Feedburner is terminating their service. It’s the matter of time when the email subscription will stop working.
