I bid farewell to my baby Jazz this afternoon for a 2 weeks make over after sending her to remove my 17″ inch rims for a make over as well. My car was fitted with another set of rims and tyres temporary while it’s in the body and paint workshop.
Feeling sad. It felt as if I was selling my car. I never part with my car before. This temporary parting would be 2 long weeks. How do I stand this duration without her by my side? Sigh.
Yesterday when I was on the way to work, my car was basically hit by a malay lady driver.
Malaysian can magically and amazingly create 6 extra lanes for 3-lane highway. Right after the Sg. Besi toll there was a massive traffic jam. It was a shocking 9 lines of car squeezing into 3 lane. My lane and the lane on my right hand side is combining to a lane entering the highway slowly (it was slow moving). Suddenly I saw something from the corner of my right eye. Blardy hell I yelled. There was a car which was about to kiss my car from the side! Before I knew it my right side mirror was pushed to the opposite side and broke off from my car body with me watching helplessly.
The stupid driver wind down her car window and the first stupid thing out from her stupid mouth is “I’m not wrong. I’m at my own lane”. And I yelled “Are you blind? Didn’t you see your lane and my lane are combining while entering the highway?” She said she didn’t see. I asked her where did she look at while driving. She said she look in front. *Slap forehead*. She said she looked in front but she didn’t realise the changes in both our lanes! Then she asked me how much. And I said we’ll discuss further at the petrol station ahead. She couldn’t move forward and I need to move forward and I realize my car is stuck! My broken side mirror which was hanging by just a wire was stuck in between our car. So I just continue and I could hear awful cracking sound and IT WAS HER CAR. Hah!! I couldn’t care much.
As she drive very slow, I thought she ran away. I couldn’t see as my side mirror is no longer there. So I drive slowly at the left lane and I spotted her. I start chasing her until we’re near the petrol station and she stopped. I was in front of her.
She got down the car and still insist that she’s not wrong. After some arguing only she told me she never drive and never drove down to KL before. She asked me how much to fix my mirror and I called my friend and my friend wasn’t sure so I just estimated around RM500 for 1 set (my friend said it was sold in a set). She was shocked to hear how expensive it is and I said to her “Halo?? This is Honda Jazz, not Kancil”. I even showed her how bad my side mirror was ripped off from inside and she just kept quiet as she knew it was totally broken and needed a change. She don’t have cash and I direct her to the ATM inside the station and she said she only have RM200 in the account. If I insist on taking cash, she can only pay RM200. If I insist her to pay all, she need to follow me to the garage and swipe her damn credit card. So I called my friend for advice and he asked me to write down her name, IC, address, mobile etc. If she MIA I could just report to police.
She refuse at first to gave me her IC. She said I’m not a police and I don’t need to be so cautious. I lied to her saying I was cheated before for cases like this so I’m just being careful. She then apologize to me.
She called me later that morning to check if I have the price yet. After a few calls, I was finally told it was RM400 for just 1 side of the mirror. My friend made a mistake on changing the whole set theory. She called again to arrange for time to go my friend’s garage to swipe the credit card. Before the appointment she called again to cancel and said that she want to bank in to my account RM300 while the balance of RM100 will be bank in later at night. She did bank in RM300 but was no where to be contacted for the balance when I left office at 10pm. Finally she replied my sms this morning saying she’ll try to pay the balance by end of this week.
My friend advise me not to spray the mirror first as I was in the middle of recondition my car. I just changed the front wheel chamber, changed the rear absorber and what’s left now is recon the rims and lastly new body and paint!
Hopefully the lady will keep her promise.
