Simple Lunch at Sanuki Udon

Sanuki Udon was introduced by a friend of mine last year when he dropped by my office for lunch. I remembered he telling me it’s the nicest, cheapest Japanese udon that you can have in this area. I’m not a foodie nor a Japanese food lover but we’ve gone tired lunching at the few places that I’m willing to take my chances! On my first trip to Sanuki Udon we were introduced to the owner of the place; Seiji Fujimoto or Fuji-san as what we called him who happened to own the famous yakiniku (grilled meat in Japanese) place at the alley behind my office. What a coincident.

That’s Sanuki Udon owner’s – Fuji-san car. He’s the most handsome guy you can ever imagine. Don’t go stalk him after this k? 🙂

The first time I think I had those in soup. I don’t like it as it’s not my taste of food. From there I concluded once again I hate Japanese food. On my second trip I had Cha Cheong Udon hot. Yes…you can choose your noodle to be in hot or cold. Since that day onwards I’m a Cha Cheong Udon girl!

On Wednesday I was nearby Taman Desa feeling nauseas but with gastric at the same time. I couldn’t think of what else I can eat except of this udon so I drove over to pack back to office.

The next day I had lunch with one of my ex-boss and he suggested to lunch at Sanuki Udon. I was more than happy to eat there again as I want to take picture for this post 🙂

This is my Cha Cheong Udon (RM6). Totally love the sause. The taste is very similar to soya bean paste. Just a hint of it.

My ex-boss is always with his House Special (RM5). It’s just half-boiled egg with udon. I’d suggest adding dried chili powder will boost the taste. I can’t take raw food so I never tried this. But I heard it’s gooooood.

This is my favorite side dish. Karaage (RM3/3-pieces). We ordered 2 sets. Basically this is deep fried chicken. You must try this. It’s really delicious. If we went with a larger group we will order all sorts of side dishes.

For those that are interested to try, below is the address:

      • Oh. Yup, I’m going to drop by for lunch. Wanting to try House Special with lots of dried chili powder. Had a similar one before, but it was with XO sauce. Yummy but an acquired taste because I found out many people are not fond of runny yolk.

          • The house special was delicious. I added the chilli in oil instead. Bf can’t take it. Lol. Raw for him. I love it. Chicken karaage was delicious too. Better than those Japanese restaurants I frequent. Will go again. So in love with the house special.

          • Nice right? I love that place too.

The other I went lunch at this udon place in Jaya One. The quality and taste is way far than delicious if I were to compare with Sanuki Udon’s. And the karaage can’t even compare with Sanuki Udon’s OMG.

          • I wanted to try the Cha Cheong Udon but I don’t see it on the menu. Maybe I overlooked. Curry Udon was delicious too. I find the portion kinda small, haha. I think I know which udon place @ Jaya One you are referring to. My friend posted about it on FB and she felt that the taste was meh.

          • Hmmm everyone I know said the portion is small. I on the other hand can’t finish it lol. Yeap. The one at Jaya One is really meh.

          • I wanted to have another bowl of udon but at that point of time, I already had 3 plates of chicken karaage. Hahaha. Must go again soon.

          • OMG! 3 plates of karaage?? I’m full with just a plate + udon until I can’t even finish the udon lol

          • Yeah, 1 bowl of udon + 3 plates of chicken karaage. Still wanted to order another bowl of udon. The texture is just nice. Springy. Regret didn’t “kar liew”. Kitsune! Next time I’ll do that.

          • Wah. I can’t eat that much though lol. Find one day we go makan there

          • I can eat alot when I am not in a hurry. Yeah, let’s find a day to do so.

          • I’m a noob in food too. Not fond of food lol. That’s why I can’t be a foodie

          • Good food + good company = bliss. I eat fast when I eat with colleagues. Very paiseh to keep them waiting for me. I am a slow eater. Plus, when I eat with them, I eat regular portion only. Lol. Slow poke.

          • I’m not keen with food LOL

  • Hey babe. The Udon looks yummy 🙂 The House Special reminds me of chili Pan Mee. I don’t eat Udon that much because of the thick texture. If I can find this place, I’ll be sure to try it. Thanks for recommending 🙂

    • My dearrrrr! Long time didn’t see you! Glad to see you again here 🙂

Use GPS. Should be easy with that otherwise a bit confusing as it’s inside a housing area.
