Holiday Collection 2014 Urban Decay

Holiday Gift Guide 2014: Urban Decay Holiday Collection

Of all the holiday collection this year, I’m leaning more towards Urban Decay after watching Samantha Schuerman’s first impression review and swatches on the Vice 3 palette. How can I not be? It comes with a matching pouch as well! In the video, Samantha whipped out the Vice 2 palette (at 2.03 minute) for comparison and heck I want Vice 2 too! I managed to track down a brand new Vice 2 palette after searching online for a few weeks so now Vice 3 is in my wish list.

Urban Decay Naked2 Basics (RM103)

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics
Whether you are a fan or the Naked Basics palette or you are not as you find it to be too warm, then this is THE palette made just for you. Naked2 Basics is the answer to your request for a cooler in tone than the original. Something that I felt suits me better comparing to Naked Basics. Naked2 Basics on the other hand are loaded with six TAUPE-hued matte neutrals, including five never-before-seen shades. While many brands’ matte shadows tend to be chalky or powdery, EVERY shade in Naked2 Basics has a rich, buttery feel for the perfect application. Urban Decay even include one shade with a slight satin finish, Skimp, that’s ideal for highlighting and adding dimension.

Urban Decay Naked 2 Basics Swatches
This set includes:

  • 6 cooler eyeshadow tones than Naked Basics – Skimp (pale nude satin), Stark (nude-pink matte), Frisk (warm gray matte), Cover (muted red-brown matte), Primal (muted brown matte) and Undone (deep, smoky brown matte).

Urban Decay Illuminated Shimmering Powder For Face & Body (RM99)

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated
Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder for Face and Body gives you a gorgeous just-got-Naked glow all over, sexy, just-finished flush that will have people asking what (or whom) you’ve been doing. This lightweight, baked powder has a sophisticated microfine shimmer worthy of the Naked name. Work just like any other highlighter (but better), simply dust on Naked Illuminated Shimmering Powder onto wherever you want to create an instant Naked glow, whether it’s on the cheek bone, the nose bridge, your décolletage, arms or even all over the body! This smooth, silky powder contains light-reflecting particles that create a luminous, radiant look.

Naked Illuminated gets baked on a terra cotta disc for 24 hours, then finished by hand. Baking the powder gives it a high level of just-perfect shimmer (without the metallic look of cheaper formulas). It also provides the color payoff of a loose powder, with the convenience of a pressed powder.

Urban Decay Naked Illuminated Swatches
Illuminated Shimmering Powder For Face & Body is available in two shades:

  • LUMINOUS – champagne shimmer with iridescent shimmer.
  • AURA – soft pink shimmer with golden iridescent sparkle.

Urban Decay Black Magic 24/7 Glide-On Double-Ended Eye Pencil Set (RM139)

Like most women obsessed with black liner, Urban Decay are also serious about colors. Enter Black Magic 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil Set from Urban Decay. It’s the ultimate pairing set for black liner junkies: four of our DOUBLE-ENDED Eye Pencils—for a total of eight habit-forming hues—all in the award-winning, waterproof 24/7 formula. The best part? Each pencil includes a black shade AND a rich, colorful shade. So whether you’re in the mood to go black or you’re craving a little color, you always have the perfect weapon at the ready. Experiment with every black shade Urban Decay make (including the 24/7 Velvet formula in Black Velvet), plus other iconic UD shades like Demolition and LSD. Urban Decay even brought back two in-demand shades you won’t find anywhere else, which is Black Market (charcoal-black) and Tornado (dark eggplant).

This set includes:

  • 4 double-ended eye pencil in the shade – Zero + Demolition (zealous black cream + deep brown matte), Black Velvet + Smoke (rich, smoky black matte + deepest gray matte), Perversion + LSD (blackest black matte + navy shimmer w/bright turquoise micro-sparkle) and Black Market + Tornado (charcoal black satin + dark eggplant pearl).

Urban Decay Naked Basics Double-Ended Brush (RM63)

Urban Decay Naked Basics Double Ended Brush
When Urban Decay launched the original Naked Basics palette of matte neutrals, women cried out for two things: even more mattes and the perfect brush to apply them. Done and done. To coincide with the launch of Naked2 Basics, Urban Decay introduces the Naked Basics Double-Ended Brush. This full-size brush is the ultimate accoutrement for our Naked Basics palettes. Because it’s two brushes in one, it’s extra versatile (yet it takes up less space in your bag). On one side: a shadow blender brush. On the other: a shadow smudger brush. Apply shadow all over. Blend, smudge and line. This indispensable brush does it all.

The brush hair is made with a super-soft synthetic material derived from recycled PBT plastic bottles, so it’s cruelty-free AND vegan! Another plus: Synthetic brush hair doesn’t hold on to gross bacteria the way porous animal hair can, so it’s easier to clean and more hygienic.

There you have it. An array of Urban Decay Holiday Collection for 2014. Knowing Urban Decay, I knew there will be more eyeshadow offering but hey, who’s complaining. I could never have enough of eyeshadow palette in my vanity. When Naked Basics was launched, I was not into earthy tone and honestly I find them too dark even for work. I secretly wish it comes in cooler tone. Same goes to Naked 2 palette. I like it but wished it wasn’t so earthy or brown and so Naked 3 palette with pinker undertone was born. I would say Naked 3 and Naked 2 Basics are meant for people who are into cooler tone but yet still want that earthy look on their eyes. As for the Vice 3, whether you are a collector since the first Vice palette or not, it’s not too late to start. I think the lipstick set would be a hit.

What’s your pick from Urban Decay Holiday 2014 collection?

  • Thanks for the guide! Wow you managed to track down a brand new Vice 2? Applaud! That was a limited edition if not wrong. I thought that was pretty but back then would not have thought of splurging. I read Temptalia’s review on Vice 3. Pretty good. In general I think UD has very alluring eye shadows. Naked 3 was quite tempting with the rose tone palette. Maybe I’ll drop by Sephora to check it out. Time to get a decent earth tone palette as it’s my basic makeup at work.

    • Oh yes. I managed to track down Vice 2. After I bought it, I saw another person selling Vice 2 as well. Most people are letting go of it because of Vice 3. All Vice palette is limited edition. It was 2013 edition. I just had to get the Vice 2. The print on the front is sooooo pretty. Same here. Back then I wouldn’t splurge RM200 on a palette. I had my eyes on Vice 3 too because I like the eyeshadow selection more than Vice 2. Since I started with Vice 2, why not get the Vice 3 eh? But need to do it hush hush as my mum sounded me for getting another eyeshadow palette. I can imagine if I were to buy a Vice 3 just a few days apart from buying Vice 2 haha. Try Naked 2 palette. Or if you need smaller selection that’s easy to use, Naked 2 Basics is the palette to go.

      • Good for you 🙂 UD eye shadow palettes are quite addictive and worthy as collection. Haha, perhaps you can hide it away from your mum first 😉 Enjoy the palettes and I look forward to your eye make up and reviews!
