GM Diet: Why I wouldn’t do it again

I first heard about GM Diet roughly two years ago from a Facebook link sharing by a friend. The claims and review sounds promising but after a quick look at the daily meal plan, I decided that I cannot do it.

Two weeks ago, I read a blog post by a friend Gjanawi on how she lost 7kg from a week of GM Diet and two weeks of her own special diet. I downloaded the app based on her blog post to my phone almost instant, took a look at the meal plan thoroughly this time and set my foot down to just do it. I still remember that it was a Wednesday. I had just completed MLMax 1-month plan and I needed to let my body rest for a few days before starting this GM Diet. The target day to start was the coming Monday. That was a week ago. I had completed the full week long of GM Diet with flying colours. No cheating, no giving up (almost!) and I follow the instruction stated strictly. What you’re about to read below would be what GM Diet are all about, my experience and why I would not do it anymore. Before I start, let me make a disclaimer in advance. I am not overweight at all and I’m a small eater. I may lose lesser weight than other people due to this. All I want is to lose weight to the pre-Hyperthyroidism treatment 🙂

GM Diet
This diet plan was named as GM Diet as rumours stated that General Motors Inc developed this plan with both Food and Drug Administration and US Department of Agriculture in order to help keep their employees stay in shape. The same diet plan was also said to be first used in field tests at Johns Hopkins Research Center in 1985. GM Diet is designed with a specific seven-day eating plan to target weight loss of 10 to 17 lbs. in a week, as compared to 1 to 2 lbs. per week on most conventional diets. Now, don’t get too excited with the 10 to 17 lbs yet because not everyone will experience the same result. It is also mentioned on the app that the diet will improve your attitude and emotions due to the cleansing systematic effects. I can tell you that your attitude will definitely change in that seven days due to lack of food intake and craving but after that your attitude towards food changes dramatically as well.
