Review: Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is Nothing Like It’s Rival

Okay. I can never remember the name of this new product from Revlon that just reached our shore end of November 2012. I’ll just call this Lip Stain aight? I’ve seen Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain months ago from the internet but waiting for it to arrive to Malaysia could take a long time. Or even not arriving at all. But to my surprise Revlon Malaysia did brought it in.

The retail price of Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is at RM32.80 each. The good news is currently there’s a 10% discount at Guardian making the price slightly lower at RM29.61! And of course I bought mine from Guardian 🙂

The color selection is not as huge as oversea but Revlon Malaysia brought in 8 shades which is good enough as some color are very similar which explains maybe that’s why Revlon Malaysia skipped 4 shades. I was in a Guardian store whereas the staff are busing at other section and the main point why I choose this particular Guardian at Mid Valley is because I notice that the Revlon section is not close to the door so there’s no security guard watching me closely. I did a swatch of all 8 colors safely without any disturbance!

Initially I plan to buy 3 Lip Stain for review but in the end just grab 2 only after considering the fact that I still have 6 kinda-new Clinique Chubby Stick and a lot more new lipstick at home. I ended up with Precious which is a nude color and Cherish which is a middle tone fuchsia pink.

The packaging, twist system, design and overall look is pretty much the same with Clinique Chubby Stick. However there’s a different between both which I knew prior before, that I’ll explain further below. The content is not as long as the tube actually. After twisting the whole thing out I’m not surprised it’s at this length. This time I’m not cheated and as surprised as I am with Clinique Chubby Stick haha!

On first swatch Precious looks like a moisturizing nude with a slight hint of pink but after another swatch I find that it’s really nude kinda nude color.

Cherish on the other hand is a beautiful fuchsia pink as expected. I choose this over Sweetheart because I wanted a lighter fuchsia color.

Here’s how both Precious (Nude) and Cherish (Fuchsia) on my lips.

On close up Precious looks “okay” and exactly how I would like it to be. If you see Cherish on me you’d know that’s “Fiona’s color”.

Last Saturday where I took these pictures for review, the sun is blazing hot. So I looked more fair than usual despite lowering the brightness. Just thought I warn you first 🙂

Precious is way too nude on me. Makes me look pale and sick! Of both color Precious is the most drying one. It’s so dry that it’s hard to apply on my lips. If you have dry and chap lips this will just intensify the lines and dry lips. Really awful.

Cherish gave me a beautiful pink that looked slightly fluorescent pink (in real). It’s more moisturizing and easier to apply. Although the texture is slightly better than Precious this will also intensify the lines on the lip if you have dry and chap lips. That’s the only thing I hate about Revlon Lip Stain.

Do note that Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain have a minty scent when you apply it. The scent will disappear by the time you’re done applying.

A lot of you have been asking what is the different between Clinique Chubby Stick with Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain. It’s very easy to differentiate both although both are often mistaken for being the same. In fact they’re not. Clinique Chubby Stick is a tinted lip balm; similar to a sheer lipstick while Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is a lip stain!

Tinted Lip Balm is just a lip balm with a hint of color. Once you wipe it off everything came off. Lip Stain will leave a stain on your lips even after you wipe off the surface of your lips. The stain stays put on the lip and doesn’t stain the tissue. I’d suggest you to properly remove this using a Lip Makeup Remover ya.

So, anyone getting or gotten Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain yet?

Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain is available at major pharmacies and supermarket nationwide. I got mine from Guardian.
Price: RM32.80 each

  • You really look pale and sick with Precious on. Not plans to buy it because it is drying. My lip line will start peeling.

    • I know right. I should have gotten Honey instead. This doesn’t look good on top of lip balm either. Looked patchy.

      • Oh I get the patchy part. It looks horrible. Been there, done that. So I stopped doing so. Speaking of which.. I found out somewhere (at some blog) that matte lipstick is actually drying. Therefore, use it sparingly.

          • Getting old. Sob. Memory is failing me. Lol.

          • Lol. No you’re not.

  • Precious would go great if you go with strong eye makeup but not really for daily wear. Like you said it looks pale on you, I bet it will be the same to me too. Honey is the most wearable shade! I reached out for that shade most of the time but you look great with Cherish.

    • I’ve tried strong eye makeup one day. Still look pale on me LOL. I can only pull it off if the nude is with a slight pink 🙂

I like Honey on you! So regret didn’t get Honey instead haha. I love Cherish. Pink is the safest color.

  • at first I thought the fuschia colour would not suit you since it is a cool tone (most chinese people have warm-toned skin). Turn out it looks great on you, I still have much to learn about colours that would suit me! 🙂

    • Haha yea. I know I can wear fuschia cause Dior Addict Extreme Cruise suits me and it’s also fuschia color 🙂

  • Yay for Cherish, looks good on you. I like the design and packaging, but I am not a lipstick or tinted lip balm person. Clinique’s Chubby Stick is still better ya? I guess the price difference justifies the effect as well 😛

    • I still prefer Chubby Stick. More moisturizing

  • Oooh, this is a very good write-up and you covered a number of things I didn’t think of. The texture is a bit dry but I tend to apply a lipbalm before the Just Bitten balm and it’s all right. I think the colours I got have a smoother consistency too. And I cannot pull off pale, nudish lips no matter how hard I try. I look really sick!

Chubby Sticks have 0.3g of product compared to Just Bitten with 0.27g. It’s a marginal difference, really. But the price of the Revlon ones is definitely more attractive than Clinique’s.

I think I might get Cherish next 😉

    • Thanks Lyn :). I tried lip balm as base but doesn’t work for me hehe. My itchy hand reached for Precious because it looked good on swatch at the back of the hand. I should have gotten Honey instead!! Urgh!

I definitely prefer Revlon price haha. But again I will need to finish some Chubby Stick first 🙂

    • Thanks Bella :). Honey is the bomb! I should have gotten that instead. Yes many girls have Honey. Did you notice that the darkest color it is the more moisturizing it is? I notice the same for Clinique Chubby Stick.
