SAY GOODBYE TO DEWY SKIN, AND SAY HELLO TO MATTE, BABY-FACED SKIN!

Matte, baby-faced skin has taken trend among top designers at the Spring 2013 New York Fashion Week. Top fashion designer such as Alexander Wang, Marc Jacobs and Jason Wu each exhibited their distinct fashions with one consistent trend – matte, baby-faced skin.  It is an exciting trend for many women regardless which skin type are you but statistically this trend will be tough to follow as over 56% of people globally have normal to oily skin. This fact is so true because dry skin would want dewy skin, while oily skin would want a matte skin.

To solve this problem for oily skin babies, Kiehl’s has a solution. Introducing Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free line. It is an effective daily regimen to visibly reduce oil on skin, without stripping the skin of essential moisture. Ultra Facial Oil-Free is a clinically proven range to balance skin in as little as 1 week. This claim itself makes me want to run over to the nearest Kiehl’s outlet to get it if it wasn’t because I have too much skin care to use 🙁

EXPERT ADVICE: BALANCE OILY SKIN, DON’T COVER IT

Kiehl’s chemists’ key objective when developing Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Collection was to balance the skin without stripping and over-drying it.  The new breakthrough technology fuses the benefits of moisture-retaining ingredients and naturally-derived sugar to release pure hydration into skin and then lock in moisture. The results are scientifically proven 24-hours of shine control and long-lasting moisturization.  The daily regimen is pretty straight forward; a cleanser, a toner and a gel cream.

The key ingredients are:-

Imeperata Cylindrica Root Extract
Helps skin to store and retain moisture efficiently – even in the driest weather conditions. The plant thrives in dry, excessively saline environments and is native to many of Earth’s deserts, but is especially prolific in the Australian Outback.  It’s roots contain high concentrations of potassium which provides an immediate and lasting hydrating effect.

Antarcticine
Providing superb protection against dryness, Antarcticine helps hydrate skin and provides it with a noticeably smoother appearance while shielding skin from the damaging effects of free-radicals.  It further helps to protect the skin from extremely cold temperatures facilitating skin’s retention of natural water reserves.  Sourced from Antarctica, it is a glycol-protein that has demonstrated many unique benefits when used in skincare formulas.

Vitamin E
Naturally occurring in plant leaves, cereal germ oils, and milk, Vitamin E is known to be an important antioxidant and free-radical scavenger that contains moisturizing properties.

  • When I think of oil control products, it will normally make my skin even oilier. This is brilliant, perhaps the solution is in using oil free products. I am tempted to try the Gel cream, MRC and also Line Reducing Concentrate. Have you tried any products from this oil free range?

    • Oh no no. Oil control product are not suppose to make your skin oilier. I’ve tried oil control product but it just doesn’t matte my skin as long as I want it to. I have not tried any product from this oil free range. Was so tempted to run to the store and get it since it’s pretty affordable but looking at my skin care stash cupboard I go OMG.

  • I saw in the ingredients list for the gel cream. It has alcohol content in it. Will this be harmful to our skin since we usually avoid products with alcohol especially mask?

    • Should be fine Jenny. Unless you are super sensitive skin. For oily skin I think most are not sensitive towards alcohol. Do ask for sample to try at home first 😀
