Hermo L'Oréal Make Up - Eyes Make Up - Face Make Up - Lips Review: Make Up

L’Oreal Tint Caresse: The 1st lip gradation pen for eyes, lips, and cheeks

I love bizarre beauty products. Bizarre in the sense that it is something unique or never seen before in the beauty scene, and something that looks like ordinary but gives you the wow impression. And I especially love products that are not available in Malaysia. It gives me a sense of uniqueness of owning something that is not easily available here. The fact is, there is this product from L’Oreal that is available in Hermo.my that I am not aware of until last week. L’Oreal Tint Caresse is available exclusively at Hermo.my and to make the exclusivity even more exclusive, Tint Caresse is ONLY available for 2 weeks. Say what?

L'Oreal Tint Caresse
L’Oreal Tint Caresse is the 1st lip gradation pen that are inflused with tints from the most refined blend of precious flowers. It comes with an applicator with soft cushion tip which also works well in blending in color on the lips for the most natural ombre effect instantly. This is not my first time seeing such soft cushion tip design as I have used something similar for the eyes from Anna Sui before. But Anna Sui one was a pain to use so let’s not get into there.

The powder aka product does not comes from the cushion tip but instead all the product sits inside the cap. So everytime you closed the cap back to the pen, you are actually dipping the cushion tip with product. That explains why everytime you unscrew the cap off you get the product on the tip.

L'Oreal Tint Caresse Powder
You will find that the cap feels springy everytime you screw back the cap. That is because there is a spring underneath the product. This is to ensure everytime you dip the cushion tip to the cap, you will get product on the tip for application regardless how less the product gets in the future. I have been using this Tint Caresse for a good few days now for my eyes, cheeks and lips, and I did not find myself double dipping for more product. I was quite surprised that the cushion tip picks up a good amount of product for each use. If I were to compare this to the Anna Sui that I mentioned earlier, this is way more easier to use. Anna Sui one requires lots and lots of dipping. I even feel like taking a needle to scrap out product at one point of time 😀 . For L’Oreal to came out with such a good quality product, I say good job L’Oreal!

L'Oreal Tint Caresse Powder Cap
L’Oreal Tint Caresse comes in 7 shades – #B01 Sakura Blossom, #B03 Peach Blossom, #B04 Orchid Blossom, #B05 Tulip Blossom, #B06 Rose Blossom, #B07 Lily Blossom, and #B08 Plum Blossom. The shade that I have with me is Orchid Blossom, a spot on Fiona shade 🙂

Tint Caresse is not liquid or cream but it is a powder product. It has a sweet, floral scent to it, which is very pleasant even on the lips. I say it’s sweet because when I lick it, it tastes sweet. Since this is a powder product, it is completely matte. To be honest, I have never ever ever used any matte powder product on my lips before so I was more than excited.

L'Oreal Tint Caresse Hand Swatch
Tint Caresse is a lip, eyes and even a cheek product. Yes, it’s a 3-in-1 product. Great for those who do not like to use or carry too much product, and great for those who want to have the more advantages from one single product. You get the best of 3 world with just one product. Here’s how I used Tint Caresse in #B04 Orchid Blossom 😉

As lip tint

With this product, I go Korean. You know I don’t do Korean look or whatsoever. I go American on my typical days 😀 . This product gave me the Korean feel so why not. Let’s go Korean. That means, no eyeliner for me *yay*.

You can use Tint Caresse for the lips in 2 different ways. I have decided on doing a lip ombre. If you know me you will know that “Fiona don’t do lip ombre!”. I want to show you how EASY it is to achieve an ombre lip look with this product. So so easy. Even a noob like me can do it in 2 seconds. What you need to do first is to conceal your lips with concealer. I skipped concealer as it will make me look sick so I used my beauty blender which I used for my foundation earlier to bounce some foundation onto my lips. Just to neutralize it a bit.

I used the cushion tip to line the inner part of my lips and use the cushion tip again to smudge and spread slightly.

You can also use your finger to blend outwards. In fact I prefer to use my finger as I get a better control and finger also prevent more product from the cushion tip getting onto the lips. Otherwise I would spend more and more time blending.

Another tip. If you do not like the dry lips look, apply a thin layer of lip balm first. I have tried it and I love it 😀

As eyeshadow

Many are skeptical about using a pink on the eyelid as eyeshadow. I have used pink as eyeshadow numerous times so this is quite normal for me. In fact pink is an unique shade to use. But not all pink works. A darker pink like this Orchid Blossom shade is just nice. Otherwise it can go very wrong 😀

Once again, using this as eyeshadow is so easy. No brush needed. This is the first time in many years that I did not use any makeup brushes. Feels a bit odd but it works. All I do was to apply onto the outer V at the corner of my eyes and used my finger to blend inwards towards the inner corner of the eyes. A little bit goes a long way. I like to build up the coverage instead of using too much at one stroke. I did not expect it to blend so well as I did not use any makeup brush.

As cheek blush

To be frank I was a bit afraid to use Tint Caresse as blush. Not all product blends well on top of powder product. I say some prayers and go ahead with it. I drew 3 small dashes on my cheek and dab+blend with my fingers. Even when I left it on for a few minutes to take photos, I can still blend without any issue. It does not turn patchy, which solves my concern. No foundation were removed or moved in the process of blending. Once again, a little goes a long way. You can always dab on more product to increase the intensity. Which is exactly what I did 😀 . I blend the blush upwards as that is how I like to wear my blush.

And, here is the complete look!

Some of you may think pink can make your eyes looked swollen or as if someone punch you right at the eyes. In my case it doesn’t. It turns out incredibly better and beautiful that I thought! And all that was blended using fingers. On my eyes, it stays on all day. I did not see any signs of fading or whatsoever. There was no creasing as well. In fact the longer I had it on, the prettier it gets. Of all 3 usage of Tint Caresse, using it as eyeshadow is my favourite of all.

L'Oreal Tint Caresse After 1
On my lips, the tint did not fade at all through lunch, coffee, snack, cakes and dinner. Amazing. It just stays on. I really like it on my lips. Because it is a powder product and it is matte, I feel absolutely nothing on my lips. Nothing! It is not even drying at all. I can top it up with lip balm and the lips still look good.

As for the cheeks, maybe the amount I applied was not that much therefore it faded quite a bit after a few hours. I do not know if it is just me or what because no blush stays on my skin for long. I do suspect it is because I did not use that much. I will do 2 layers next time and report back on this 🙂

L'Oreal Tint Caresse After 2
Another lip option for you. I know not many are into lip ombre and not all of us are able carry lip ombre well so here is another lip option for you. Tint Caresse can be used like a normal lipstick. Just apply all over the lips like a lipstick and voilà! Tint Caresse provides a full, matte opaque finishing to the lips. Just like a matte lipstick except that this one here comes in powder form 😀 . Beautiful isn’t it? I don’t mean me, I meant the Tint Caresse in Orchid Blossom 😀

  • I love your review!!!^^ Orchid Blossom is the prettiest colour of all. Is it drying to wear it all over the lips? Matte?

    • Thanks dear 🙂 . I am so happy that I got Orchid Blossom. I’ve always wanted to add pink or fuchsia into my lip product collection instead of another red 🙂
It’s not drying to wear on the lips. Yes it’s matte as it’s powder.
