So last week the world of beauty boxes is once again taken into another “huh, another beauty box subscription” state of mind when someone suddenly emerge out of no where and launched yet another beauty box concept subscription to the already small market. Many of my readers asked if I would or already subscribed and yes I did. Normally I will subscribe to debut box for review and Bag of Love is no exception.
This review is going to be different. Instead of showing you the packaging etc before the content, I’m going to show you the content first before I ramble on.
So here it is.
Now go make yourself a cup of coffee or pour yourself a cold glass of coke and some popcorn because this post is going to be lengthy, dramatic because my rambling would be very long.
So, Bag of Love owner decided to send out the first batch of beauty bags (I guess you already know by now it’s not box but bag?) on Thursday and that means I should also be receiving mine on Friday. Many received theirs in the morning or noon but mine is no where to be found. Around 4pm or so I received a call and the guy said he’s from the courier. He didn’t mention which courier so I have no idea who is that because I’m also waiting for a few parcel from PR companies. This courier guy said he’s at this factory (which is just opposite road to my house) and ask me how to go my house. Below would be the 2 painful phone conversation which I’ve translated from Malay to English.
Courier: How to go to your house?
Me: Where exactly are you now so I can direct you properly?
Courier: I’m at this factory.
Me: Is the factory XXXXXXX XXXXXX?
Courier: Yes. So how ar?
Me: That’s easy. My house is just across the road.
Courier: How to go?
Me: It’s just opposite of where you are at now.
Courier: Where? Opposite? How exactly to go there?
Me: What? Just cross the road and go all the way in, turn left. My house is the 3rd on the right. Look at the Lot no.
Courier: You wait. *Then he went quiet*. Ah now I cross the road already. How to go your house?
Me: Go all the way in. It’s a 2-road area only. You will be able to spot my house from the Lot no in front.
Courier: Are you at home?
Me: No.
Courier: Where are you?
Me: HUH??
Courier: I can’t find your house. Where? Come out now.
Me: Where are you NOW?
Courier: I’ve just cross the road. Still here.
Me: Go in the 2nd lane…why are you still at 1st lane (after cross road).
Courier: I don’t know how to go.
Me: There’s only 1 road. You won’t get lost la. Go all the way in laaaaaaa.
Courier: You come out now.
Me: I’M NOT AT HOME LA HALLO.
Courier: Then where are you?
Me: ….
* Courier guy hangs up*
…5 mins later, courier guy smsed “call me back”. I don’t feel like calling back since he’s already AT my house area and there’s no way he can get lost but I wanted my parcel to reach safely so I have no choice.
Me: Have you deliver?
Courier: I can’t find your house. Your address said 5809 xxxxxxxx
Me: Correct. Go find. My house is with a garden AND my house Lot no can be seen on the post box.
Courier: How to go? I don’t know.
Me: *face palm* You are already there la. Find la. I tell you everything I need to tell but you still don’t move.
Courier: Is it the house with lots of kids?
Me: NO. Next door la.
Courier: No? You come out now.
Me: How many times I have to tell you I’m not at home???
Courier: You’re not at home? How now?
Me: Just deliver la. Why so hard????
Courier: How to deliver?
Me: What do you mean how to deliver? Just deliver la. My parents at home what.
Courier: I’m at 5812 (the house opposite my house). I can’t find 5809.
Me: My house is in front of that house la. Look at the post box!!!!
Courier: What’s your house address?
Me: *kill me now* I thought you told me you know?????
Courier: I don’t know how to go. How to send if you’re not at home?
Me: Just pass to my parent la.
Courier: How to pass?
Me: WHAT???? JUST SHOUT HELLO AND PASS LA. LIKE THIS ALSO YOU WANT ME TO TEACH YOU???
Courier: *hangs up*
Now tell me does that makes you vomit blood? To assure you I’m not dramatic, I’ve even done up my housing area plan for you to judge.
Basically my area is just a round thing with 2 housing road. One would be going round and round if can’t find a specific house. There’s ZERO possibility one can or will get lost unless the person is as stupid as the courier.
When I reached home I saw that the courier is from Airpak which means the courier I was talking to earlier was delivering Bag of Love. I looked at my parcel weirdly cause it’s very small and flat. As far as I know Bag of Love use a long square box. When I opened my parcel this is what I found. Totally flatten out. I don’t mind some dents cause I won’t be using the box anyway but this is too much! I left a comment in Bag of Love Facebook page and guess what? I was ignored while other positive comments were attended immediately with a smile. FYI, I’m not asking for refund/exchange/compensation or what so ever but AT LEAST attend to my comment. At least reply. At least say sorry. In conclusion AT LEAST REPLY SOMETHING. Ignoring comment like this will give you a bad first impression regardless how good is your content!! Well. I can tell you now that I am totally not liking this beauty bag at all. I guess you will see it from the bad quality pictures later on. I have no mood to adjust anything when I take the picture.
As usual I will go through the content one by one just for the sake of doing it.

(2) Murad Vitalic Energizing Pomegranate Cleanser 50ml (RM148 / 150ml) + Murad RM30 Gift Voucher
Murad again?
(3) Revlon Professional Color Sublime Treatment 75ml (RM88 / 200ml)
Once again I got to emphasis….NOT everyone is with colored hair. What use would this be for me now? Throwing away.
(4) Kanebo Lunasol Skin Fusing Powder Foundation SPF20/PA++
Not going to elaborate much on this. Afterall this is my 3rd time receiving this.
(5) Guerlain La Petite Robe Noire EDT 1ml (RM248 / 50ml)
(6) The Host Movie Pass
Sorry, the pouch doesn’t seems appealing to me. It is a “fresh” idea and not badly made so if you are looking for a makeup pouch this would be good enough for you. The content and value is of course worth more than the subscription fee however not keen to see Murad again. I am not happy to see Revlon Professional hair masque for colored hair. As I said many times before not many people are with colored hair. It’s so not appropriate to give out colored hair masque to everyone.
The big question I’ve been asking myself for the past 2 days is will I subscribe again?
The answer is,
NO.
To me customer service plays a big part in industry like this. Without a good customer service attitude no matter how branded or good your content are I will not spend a single dime on it. Take example Wonderbox. There are subscribers that commented they are not happy to get a dark / black nail polish and Wonderbox team handled the comment professionally with a proper reply. Although the reply doesn’t solve anything but at least it’s a professional way to handle comments especially when it comes to Facebook and that it’s your own customer.
For now I’m going to stick with Wonderbox, MIVVA and Vanity Trove. They are still the best beauty box in the market at the moment.

Such an awful experience 🙁 I agree with you, Wonderbox and a few others are definitely the front runner when it comes to excellence in customer service. Oh dear, Bag of Love, not a good start.
With so many choices in the market competition is high. As for me I’ll just go with the one that gives me comfort.
Bag of Love shouldn’t have ignored you, it is not the right thing to do and after seeing pictures of flattened boxes, I quickly collected mine from my mom’s house as well. Box is not in good shape but luckily the items are alright. The packaging plays a very important role because that’s the first thing that we see and in this case a badly flattened box certainly does not make a good impression.
Maybe like Angelina said…they can’t see the post? But couldn’t be. Angelina is not in my friends list and she can see. I think everyone’s box is dented. Some came in slight dent that’s near to perfect condition.
hahahaha! cool down. i am sure i will be furious too if this happened to me. The subscription box/bag suppose to be something which make the customer happy and not vomit blood. same things repeat again in the bag just like other beauty box. they need to be creative and add more other brand instead of the same brand we keep seeing. Customer service was suck according to what you wrote above!
😛 I am cool hahaha. I know right. It’s the 3rd time Murad appearing in this month’s beauty boxes. The good thing is this is cleanser. So I have cleanser to go with the moisturizer that I gotten earlier from Wonderbox. But no more Murad next month!!

Modbox yes and no. They fluctuate and not stabilize yet. I might get on Modbox bandwagon but currently won’t be. Too many choices lol

Cool down babe 🙂 I had no problem with the courier but in the meantime I haven’t received the parcels from PR that were sent early last week, which was much more earlier than Bag of Love. 🙁 So I guess it’s luck with the courier company.

Poor dear. Pat pat. I am also very particular in terms of parcel handling. Receiving the anticipated surprise in the form of smashed box does shatter the excitement and expectation. The courier guy is way too much…Though the bag is a fresh change from the usual beauty items in a box, you’re right that the beauty box/bag idea is mushrooming with a lot of player. So the edge would be customer service. Seems like Kanebo and Murad are the products of the month as they were being featured in various beauty boxes. Oh well, better luck subscribing to the ones you fancy 🙂

Sorry to hear that you had a bad customer service experience, and that carrier guy is just way too weird. Although I’ve never worked for a shipping company, I’m pretty the driver works on a planned schedule. Usually when I get packages and if the driver is lost, he/she will call me. Once I tell them my house area, they always tell me that they’ll find my house themselves. I’ve yet to have to teach someone block by block. This is horrible. You should file a complain with the shipping company.
I know right. I was teaching him to walk, cross road, look at the post box, shout for my parents etc. What send me off the cliff is when he asked how to pass to my parent. He can either use his mouth to shout or horn or something.

VT box is pretty. It is like a drawer, right? I am still hesitant to sub to VT because so far, I’ve only seen sample size samples. RM60, now RM50 a pop. Going to wait for another month to see how it fares.
I think the problem with the courier company is most of the time, the delivery guy doesn’t understand simple English. That’s why one is likely to vomit blood after talking to them.
Re Lilac Box. Not sure what you (Aby) experienced, but mine, the first date was a disaster in every sense. For the time being, it is ok. We’ll see how it goes later.
I spoke in perfect Malay with the courier guy. And yes I can speak perfect Malay is I want to. I translated to English as I mentioned.
I like the brush. I think there are too many of these beauty box subscription in the market. It makes me so jelak now. Besides, who wants to receive a new makeup bag every single month???
Exactly. I don’t want makeup pouches every month! Although it’s much more useful than gift boxes but I personally don’t simply use makeup pouch.
The brush is a plus point. Never heard of Definite before though.

I am so sorry u had such a bad experience with the courier guy. I have just called the HQ and told them bout the feedbacks that I got from my subscribers. I chose them cos I was told they are the most secured. But anyways, they said they will look into it. Let’s hope they really will.
But most importantly, I am sorry if you think i ignore u on purpose. May I know where you posted your comment/msg? Because I can’t find it. I get to know bout this post from a subscriber who told me that I should check it out. I’m glad to hear that you had brought the matters up to the courier company. I never receive / send any parcel using Airpak before so I have no idea how it was. As for the dented or flatten box I think mainly because the box wasn’t made to withstand the stress from the transit. I know your intention in using the box because you already have a makeup pouch so making another hard box is not realistic.
As for my post in your Facebook, I’m not sure why you can’t see it. I’ve posted links, pictures, comments before in other pages and the admin can see me well. I’ve even checked my setting and it’s all normal. Today I had a feeling someone will tell you about this and I was right. Anyway it’s all over now. No biggie.

My sister is fond of bags, especially cosmetics bag. I have 2-3 and I find it overwhelming. Lol. Regarding the missing post on FB, it is true that Mimi had such problem. I saw her post about it. Not sure whether I’ll continue to sub to Bag of Love or not. The items are ok to me. The brush is a bonus to me – I don’t have to spend $ to buy the brush. Hehe.
It’s nice to get cosmetic bags at first but for me right…you know I shop a lot. And all the GWP comes with a pouch. Now I have too much. So makeup pouches doesn’t seems appealing to me anymore.

I’ve the same experience with you! Told the delivery man I’m from Johor and not familiar with Selangor area but he kept asking me for direction. Asked him to try asking people around but he just refused to listen to what I said! The most funny thing is he said he doesn’t know where he is! At least tell me there is a house or maybe some trees beside you and he said there’s EMPTY! =.= buy a gps if they’re professional.
Besides that, there’s no sticker thingy on my parcel (normally there will be a sticker or paper that show our name,address,phone no) when I received my parcel. I’m staying in a hostel and end up landlord had no idea the parcel belongs to who. My box is super kemek too (even worse than yours). Overall I’m very disappointed with their service but can’t deny that their contents are awesome but STOP GIVING ME MURAD! Hahaha 😛

Guys, I gave you GLOWING review because your box is good. I never said it’s not good. I said I’m going to stick to 3 boxes at the end of the post MEANS at the moment I had too much and will not subscribe to anymore other than those 3 boxes that are given to me. I think I need not to explain myself why I’m not subscribing to certain boxes right? I know you are premium and everybody know I’m into premium stuff but then my room just couldn’t afford more boxes! There are about 7 beauty boxes subscription here alone. I couldn’t be subscribing to every single of it. I will be deem crazy if I do.
