Discover Your Mythic Secret with The Revolutionary L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Haircare Range

Mythic Oil was created based on the inspiration from Eastern tradition. Many of us didn’t know that oil are nutritive and with protective properties. Actually oil has been widely used in many aspects in the beauty revolution for example one of it is in beauty product since ancient history. From ancient Egypt to Chinese, Japanese and Indian civilizations, many women have turned to precious oils for beauty rituals as well as medicinal and aromatherapy purposes. Women nowadays discovered the secret of precious oil and implement it into daily regime. That include me 🙂

L’Oréal Professionnel begins a journey towards the Far East in order to find further inspiration in its beauty traditions, based on the magic of oils. The first stop inthe search for these precious beauty ingredients is the city of Bizantium, historical bridge between the Western and Eastern cultures.

The main 2 ingredient in Mythic Oil Haircare range is Argan Oil and Cotton Seed Oil.

Argan Oil
Nourishing Argan Oil from the magical argantree. The oil has been traditionally used for centuries by the women of Morocco, and has been a guarded beauty-secret by European women for years. Light compared to other oils, and easily absorbed by hair, skin and nails, it is extremely rich in Vitamin E and essential fatty acids, which are vital for healthy, glowing hair and skin.

Cotton Seed Oil
Cotton Seed Oil, extracted by cold pressing from the seeds of Gossypium Herbaceum (Cotton) plant, the cottonseed oil has been known throughout centuries and civilizations, for its nourishing properties. Use of cottonseed oil was already documented in the early Hindu remedies books due to its nourishing powers.

Some of you might remember my Mythic Oil review not so long ago right? Besides the iconic Mythic Oil treatment series, L’Oréal Professionnel also releases a new range of haircare products that are infused with my favorite beauty oils to nourish and enhance the hair.

First up is the Mythic Oil Nourishing Shampoo and Nourishing Conditioner for all hair types.

L'Oreal9
L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Shampoo

What I like about this shampoo is that it is suitable for all hair types. It contains a blend of Argan Oil that are with nourishing and taming properties and Cotton Seed Oil that are known for its exceptional nourishing properties.

L'Oreal10
The shampoo is gel-clear, light on hand but creates a reasonable amount of foam for the whole head. Depending on your hair thickness and length, you might only need 2 pumps for medium length. For me I normally pump 3 full pumps onto my wet palm, lather with both hands before applying onto my already damped hair. This shampoo is just great. I’m not saying that for the sake of saying it. I have oily scalp by the noon and dry hair from middle head downwards. After I used this shampoo my scalp doesn’t oil-up that much easily and my lengthy hair is oh-so-soft the whole day. My hair is straight so I don’t feel the “weight down” issue. In fact my hair is flowy and lighter.

Does it clean well and throughly? Yes it does it’s job perfectly. My scalp is cleaner and squeakily clean from all the oil build-up during the day BUT it’s not drying. Some shampoo clean throughly and because of that it dries up the hair making it coarse. With this, I never experience all that. Just clean, soft, flowy and shiny hair.

If you are familiar with Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil scent and liking it, most probably you’d like the scent of the shampoo too. It’s exactly the same! I’m a big fan of Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil so I have no problem with the iconic scent.

L'Oreal11
L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Conditioner

Many years ago I hate using Conditioner after shampooing my hair. My hair was oily and conditioner makes it more oilier and it weight down my hair. It was awful. Nowadays that I’m very much into beauty I’m more hardworking and open minded about hair conditioner.

This Mythic Oil Nourishing Conditioner is the best complement to Mythic Oil Nourishing Shampoo. It contains the same Argan Oil and Cotton Seed Oil benefits and goodness.

L'Oreal12
The conditioner comes in a cream texture and color but feels light on palm too. Unlike other conditioner this one is not greasy and heavy at all. The amount to use is also depending on your hair’s length and thickness. As for me I’d need 2 full pump for the whole head. What I do is to squeeze all excess water from my hair, pump the conditioner onto my palm, spread evenly with both hands and massages onto the hair from center of the head down to the end of the tips. I don’t and never apply conditioner onto my scalp. Afterall I have oily scalp especially the next day when I’m out and about.

Although I uses 3 full pumps of shampoo but I find that 2 full pumps of conditioner is enough for my hair. The conditioner is light enough for my hair condition but is definitely hydrating. After I rinse it off I don’t feel the heavy traces on my hair at all. It feels like as if I didn’t do anything on it. In another word…this conditioner doesn’t put stress on my hair. Which is great.

Just like the shampoo, the scent is absolutely the same with Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil. I like the scent concept as everything just sync together. Some other shampoo and conditioner in the market had different scent from each other which I find quite confusing.

While the shampoo already gives me soft and flowy hair, this conditioner gave me extra nourishing and softness to it without weighing my hair down. A must-have duo!

L'Oreal13
Both Mythic Oil Nourishing Shampoo and Conditioner comes with a wide top dense pump. The neck is short so I get a just nice amount of product being dispense out. The longer neckline the more product will be pump out. This duo pump design is just nice.

Daily and Weekly Treatment – Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil Couture Edition by Dilek Hanif and Nourishing Masque.

L'Oreal15
L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Oil Couture Edition by Dilek Hanif

Did you know that in just 1 year after Mythic Oil was launched and introduced to women across all countries worldwide back in 2011, it has quickly become such a huge success in terms of worldwide sold units, press appearances and adored by stylists and celebrities worldwide?

The original version of Mythic Oil which is suitable for all hair types was launched as the very first of it’s blend. It is made with the combination of avocado oil and grapeseed oil therefore all you need is just a few drops of this nourishing oil. As a result hair is transformed to become more shiny and supple. That claim is not just simply saying. I can be a live witness because that is exactly what I experienced after using Nourishing Oil. You can refer back to my review at this link http://www.street-love.net/2013/01/review-jumping-into-the-bandwagon-of-loreal-professional-mythic-oil-nourishing-oil.html

The one I have here is also Nourishing Oil but the different is this is Couture Edition by Dilek Hanif.

L'Oreal16_1
This couture edition comes with a beautiful gold emblem which was tied on the bottle top’s neck. The bottle design is all the same except for the label. Instead of the usual clear label, this edition comes with a black with gold wording label.

The oil dispense out clear but slightly runny. It is not heavy at all and I personally think this oil resembles a bit like dry oil except that it’s not as dry as dry oil :). Why I say so? Because Mythic Oil is not oily and as soon as you smooth it all over the hair…the oil disappears in almost immediately. If you didn’t experience the same as I did, that means you are using too much oil. For my hair I’d need 2 full pump on damp hair or 1 full pump on dry hair condition. Previously when I had wavy hair I’d need 2 full pump on dry hair condition. Now that my hair is back to straight, I wouldn’t want to risk having an oil slick with me the whole day right?

Some user said that they lost the “magic” as soon as they stopped using. Some said that they had even more frizzier hair. Some even said the oil sits on top of the hair. Well, I’m happy to say this again that I never experience all that. On my hair it’s wonderful. The oil disappear after massaging onto my hair and doesn’t leave any greasy trace. Not even when I touch it. My view and thought are still the same after my previous review 🙂

The scent is amazing. I was pretty hooked to the Mythic Oil scent since the first time I used it a few months ago.

L’Oréal Professionnel understands that women have different hair types along with varying needs. Just so all women all over the world with different hair types will be able to enjoy the wonderful results of Mythic Oil, L’Oréal Professionnel introduces three other customized precious blends of Mythic Oil catering to all haircare needs. Here is a simple chart on how to choose your Mythic Oil.

L’Oréal Professionnel Mythic Oil Nourishing Masque

For a weekly pampering treatment I’d choose Mythic Oil Nourishing Masque for it’s unique texture and benefits. Plus I think it’s the best complement to the shampoo, conditioner and nourishing oil from the same range. The uniqueness of this masque is that it allows you to “mix & match” for a tailored care. One way is to mix with a few drops of Mythic Oil for an intensely nourishing ritual. For a repairing and strengthening effect, mix the masque with Mythic Oil Milk for hair to feel instantly restored. It contains the same blend of Argan Oil and Cotton Seed Oil that instantly provide deep nutrition, repair, discipline and glow so that hair feels re-born, day after day.

L'Oreal18
If we have rescue mask for face, of course there are one for the hair! The masque is creamy and thick but yet still feels light on my hair. This masque is meant to be used once a week as a treatment but you can go up to 2 times a week. Totally up to you. So far I have not done the “mix & match” usage because I think that after conditioning…my hair only need a normal masque on.

Hair masque is different for conditioner. This masque requires you to leave it on for at least 3 minutes. Now, you might be thinking what are you suppose to do during that 3 minutes right? Here’s what I practice. Instead of taking bath first I take care of my hair first when it comes to weekly pampering like this. After massaging and leaving the masque on I’ll then continue the bath. By the time I finish body shampooing and rinsing, it was about time to rinse off the masque. Not a bad tips eh?

There’s a different using a masque and NOT using a masque. On long run the hair is well nourished and protected from future harm. I did see an improvement with my hair. Overall my hair is more healthier, glowing and easier to manage.

L'Oreal19
Now, I know all the talking must be complemented with a Before and After picture right? I am so proud and happy to show you my state of hair now after using Mythic Oil haircare range. The result is almost immediately. All these result are obtained from home treatment! There’s no salon visits (I’m lazy that way) and there’s no other haircare used besides Mythic Oil range.

Behold and be surprised!
Note: My hair is never black black. It has always been slightly brown 🙂

L'Oreal20
I’m quite pleased and happy with my hair now. Yes it’s more shinier, it’s glowing, looking healthier, softer and easier to manage. Are you intrigued enough to try this range? I’m going to change my haircare to Mythic Oil range after I finishes the current bottle 🙂

  • I bought Mythic Oil after your review last time. I don’t feel the oily trace on my hair. My hair is slightly over shoulder so I only use 1 pump. So far it’s good. Almost at half bottle now.

    Reply
    • Ahhh thank you. Hope you like it. You’re at half bottle already?? I’m not even 1/4 yet. Rotating with other hair care so mine was still quite full hehe.

      Reply
  • I have the whole range. The shampoo is mild, IMO. The conditioner is another conditioner to me. The hair serum is fine. No worries about the oily/greasy part because it is absorbed immediately. The masque is just nice. On the other hand, I rotate my hair care products, especially masque. Bought the coveted one recently – was on my MUST BUY list. After using it, I still find it not up to my expectation. I’ll continue to use it and see how it goes.

    Reply
    • Yes the shampoo is mild, not too harsh for sensitive scalp like mine. The whole range gives me positive result.

      • Lol. I just saw my typo. You have sensitive scalp? I think mine is normal? No idea. But if the shampoo I use is not suitable for me, I get dandruff. Been thinking to get new shampoo (I’ve finished this one) but don’t know which one to get yet. Mixing the hair serum with hair masque gives you shiny and beautiful hair. Not my favorite thing to do though because it makes my hair greasy midday. Yuck.

        Reply
        • LOL. Normally I’ll edit typo in comments but this one is just too funny :P. I’ll go edit once you confirm…do you mean “on the other hand”? If on the other hair means somewhere else hahahahahaha!!

Oh yea. I have sensitive scalp. One wrong product will send my whole head’s scalp looking like a dry desert, redness, itchiness and hair fall. I still don’t mix the oil with masque cause I had too much on the head already.

          Reply
          • Yeah, that one. Lol. I kept on thinking about hair shampoo when I wrote that. Lol. I’ve tried mixing hair serum and hair masque. Soft shiny hair but it became greasy midday because I applied some hair serum before blowdrying my hair. Yuck. Too much hair serum although different way of application.

          • No wonder. You had too many things going on on the hair! Which is why I didn’t mix the oil with masque 🙂

Since you have long straight hair like mine, I think the result on yours would be similar to mine too right?

  • Hi Fiona 🙂 I’m very interested in this hair care line, but I do worry about one thing. I have a problem with hair fall, did you experience any hair fall using this line? If not, do you think it helps with combating hair fall?

    Reply
    • Hi Farisha, hair fall is normal unless you have more than usual hair fall. For me I didn’t experience any hair fall using this range. In fact I have lesser hair fall. But do note this is not a specific targeted range for hair fall though. If you have serious hair fall you need to seek professional advice.

      Reply
      • Hair fall is normal but do take note that if your hair is long, I mean seriously long like waist length or beyond that, your hair fall is more than usual. Trim it shorter like shoulder length, and your hair fall will be reduced drastically. There’s usually a range for hair fall but not this. You might want to check out other brands – either the ones you can find easily at supermarket or you can get those professional/saloon type, which tends to be pricier.

        Reply
        • This one I agree. When I notice I had more hair fall than usual that means I need a hair cut haha.

          Reply
          • Lol, I wish it was a normal hair fall, but it’s not. Hmm, so maybe just the Mythic Oil or the Hair Mask then 🙂 I am trying to find different brand, because I haven’t found any that works well for me yet. The thing about professional advice from different saloons is that (even though I know it’s their job) they aggressively promote their product and I don’t feel comfortable trying out or buying anything under pressure. I rather research and ask some else’s experience first 🙂 Thanks for sharing the info btw ^^)

          • I do have a professional salon for hair fall to recommend. I have lesser hair on top. Tried their hair fall range and I ended up with fuller, fluffier head hehe.

          • Ooo, please do recommend! 🙂

          • Email me dear 🙂

          • Emailed 🙂

  • Yes, similar result. The mixing was out of curiosity. Do you time yourself when you apply hair masque? I don’t. Lol. Doesn’t matter it’s 3 minutes or so, I’ll wash it off.

    Reply
    • I don’t time hair masque. After bathing I’ll rinse it off. Hassle free 🙂

      Reply
  • Hair masque is usually the 2nd last step, last step being brushing my teeth. Hehe. When I’m done brushing my teeth, I rinse off the hair masque. Some hair shampoo and conditioner makes my hair too soft. As a result, my hair refused to stay in its place. Very “san”.

    Reply
    • You have hair static! Do treatment :). Solved my hair static issue.

      Reply
      • But that happens when I use certain brand of shampoo and conditioner. Using this shampoo, the hair is fine. Why is it not recommended to lather up the shampoo on our head/scalp?

        Reply
        • I watched “Nu Ren Wo Zui Da” before on this. They said not to apply the shampoo directly onto scalp as it’s too harsh. It is recommended to lather the shampoo until it’s foamy before putting in the head. Ever since then I’ve been doing that up until now 🙂
