Hair Care - Shampoo & Conditioner L'Oréal

Review: Getting Sparkly with L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo and Sparkling Conditioner

Just when I thought I’ve seen it all when it comes to beauty related products, I didn’t realize something this unique could happen beyond my eyes. You know I love shimmering products very much regardless eyeshadow, blushes, finishing powder, makeup base and the list goes on right?

The latest product range that utilizes shimmers in their product is L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or. I bet you’ve heard about this innovation because this is the first ever hair care range that are with fine shimmer bits! It literally screams my name 😀

I know not many people are a fan of shimmers. You wouldn’t want to risk looking like a disco ball eh? But there’s nothing to be afraid of when it comes to L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo and Sparkling Conditioner. Call me crazy but honestly when I first got my hands on this duo, I was so ready to see my hair with shimmers. I want a party ready hair 😀

So who are these products for? According to L’Oreal Professionnel, Mythic Oil’s Souffle d’Or is for women that are seeking for the radiant, glamourous as well as sublime hair suppleness. Personally I feel that Souffle d’Or is meant for everyone. Who doesn’t want glamourous on their head right? The shimmers you see in the product is actually not shimmer bits but instead these are shimmering precious oil from Argan and Safflower. Oh shoot. So much so for shimmering hairs 😀

Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo (RM48 / 250ml)

One thing that I like about Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo is that it is silicon free and paraben free. Quite rare in the market I would say. You probably wouldn’t feel the difference with or without but in long run, you will. Comparing with the usual Mythic Oil Shampoo which I reviewed a few months ago, Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo is much more lighter in texture and in the after-effect.

The bottle pumps out Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo in moderate amount. One pump is usually not enough for me so I would need at least 2 pumps each wash. The shampoo texture is indeed more lighter and more runnier comparing to the normal Mythic Oil Shampoo. The shimmering precious oil from Argan and Safflower in Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo is pretty striking and obvious even from outside of the bottle. It is extremely fine, golden in color and you might want to know that these shimmers doesn’t stays long. I think I just heard a sigh of relief 😉

The one thing I couldn’t figure out is the scent. It definitely doesn’t smells like the usual Mythic Oil. The scent is pretty much on it’s own. One thing for sure is that it is definitely not smelly 😉

My scalp can get pretty sensitive when it comes to hair care. One unsuitable shampoo and that’s it. I’ll end up having sensitive and flaky scalp for months. I won’t lie saying I’m not worried to try this new range. I was petrified because I just cured my sensitive scalp issue. But I went ahead anyway. Those shimmers are literally drawing me to it LOL. L’Oreal was right about Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or. My hair is indeed airy light. There was no traces of the shampoo left on my hair mainly because the shampoo formulation is light-weight. Because of that also my hair wasn’t weight down. The only thing I don’t see is the radiance. It could be my hair is already smooth and long therefore I can’t see the difference. Nonetheless those shimmers is the main attraction 😀

Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Conditioner (RM48 / 190ml)

Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Conditioner was named as the 1st ever transparent conditioner from L’Oreal Group. I’m not sure if I’ve even seen any transparent shampoo from other brand so this would be my first! This conditioner is not silicon free but it is definitely paraben free. You might mistaken this as the shampoo because the bottle is also transparent and the texture is quite similar to the shampoo.

The pump bottle system works the same as Sparkling Shampoo. I didn’t mentioned this earlier but I kinda like how the pump works. The pump doesn’t goes down all the way. The stroke is shorter therefore the product was dispensed out in a moderate amount. Having said that, I would usually need about 2 full pumps for each use.

The texture of Sparkling Conditioner is somewhat different from Sparking Shampoo despite both having a similar look and feel to it. This conditioner pumps out from the bottle more gluey and solid than the shampoo. The shimmer bits in it is also finer, almost invisible to the naked eyes. In my bottle, most of the shimmers just sank down to the bottom of the bottle.

The scent of Souffle d’Or Sparkling Conditioner also doesn’t carry the signature Mythic Oil scent. It also bears the Sparkling Shampoo scent to it, which is not a surprise at all since most products from L’Oreal Professionnel are pretty standardize when it comes to scent. What I really like about Sparkling Conditioner is that it is easily rinsed off from my hair, leaving no slippery residue on my hair and bathroom floor :D. The light-weight texture doesn’t makes my hair greasy and it certainly doesn’t weight down my hair.

Here is the ingredient list for those that are interested.

Besides infusing with shimmering precious oil from Argan and Safflower, Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or also contain notes from Mandarin, Jasmine Blossom and Vanilla. Maybe it’s my nose, I didn’t pick up any of that scent hehe 😀

I have wanted to see tiny bits of shimmers on my hair. Serious. However that is not the case even with L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or Sparkling Shampoo and Sparkling Conditioner. I do believe those shimmers are there for a reason although it doesn’t stays on the hair after rinsing. It would really freak out a lot of people if it does, isn’t it? 😀

It is safe to say that L’Oreal Professionnel Mythic Oil Souffle d’Or range is suitable even for sensitive scalp. Although at times I do have itchy scalp and certain moisturizing hair care range enhance the itchiness but Souffle d’Or range does not do that. My hair doesn’t get greasier than usual thanks to it’s light-weight formulation and texture. What surprises me the most is that I can still feel the airy hair effect even until the next day. Anything that doesn’t makes my scalp greasy makes me happy 😀

Oh and did I mention that the price range is quite reasonable and affordable too?

    • Hehe if comparing with drugstore price, yes. If compare with salon brand or even my favorite Kerastase then it’s cheaper 🙂

  • I’m attracted to the “Leaving no slippery residue on hair or bathroom floor” part… Hehehe…
Cz every time i shower, i have to ensure that no soapy residue is left on the bathroom floor cz there’re elderly and small kid in my house… (tension & worried la…)

    • Same for me. My brother complaint that the bathroom floor is very slippery each time I come out of shower hehe. The conditioner, hair masque, shower gel hehe.

  • the shimmers are pretty! i wish i could get my hands on them, but then i have to finish my Mythic Oil shampoo first or else I wont have enough space in my toiletries basket XD the claim of “leaving no slippery residue” is a plus point I think, as I myself sometimes felt like stepping on gooey floor if my housemates didnt bother to spray clean the floor after they bathed.

    • It is :). Anything with shimmers goes for me haha. Mainly products that are creamy and rich will leave residue behind. This range is light enough not to do so…at least not on my bathroom floor 😀

  • Lol the shimmer definitely got my attention. Looks so glamorous and princess like to shampoo with shimmer particles. Pricing wise, I thought this is mid range between drug store and salon products. Glad it turned out well for you. I have sensitive scalp too. But this shampoo is on my to try list! Thanks for sharing your review.

    • Me too! I can never resist sparkly things as well :D. Mythic Oil although is not heavy but it is still strong for certain people. Souffle d’Or is the alternative to the problem 😉
