Of all the hair care range available under L’Oreal Professionnel umbrella, Série Expert is a complete haircare system with exclusive home care regimens and in-salon treatments, features innovative molecular precision technology. The advanced technology behind this range allows formulas to target specific parts of the hair to help deliver long-lasting results. With a range for every hair type, Série Expert provides the nourishing protection needed to achieve beautiful, healthy looking hair.

The product range under Série Expert is divided into quite a number of different range targeted to different need and requirement. Today I’m going to talk about the Liss Unlimited Range, which is a range especially to smooth rebellious hair 😀

L'Oreal21

I have fine long straight hair. I bet you already know that ;). I like how my hair is at the moment…naturally straight that are not too straight as if I’ve gone to a rebonding process, fine and not coarse, shoulder length that are not too long. However, my hair could be slightly “off the track” because I didn’t undergo any rebonding. In L’Oreal term…that is called rebellious hair. Rebellious hair is those hair that are frizzy, that are totally flying over other hair as if there’s static. Try looking over a mirror. You can easily spot these rebellious hair on the surface of your hair length :D. I have it. Many people have it. It’s not a big deal but if I can tame it down…why not eh?

Liss Unlimited Smoothing Shampoo (RM50/250ml)

L’Oréal Professionnel Liss Unlimited Shampoo is the solution for user that are looking for a super smooth, luscious locks that are bursting with vitality and lustre. As the name suggest, this is the shampoo for frizzy and rebellious hair.

Just so you might want to know, this product replaces Liss Extreme Shampoo 🙂

L'Oreal22
The shampoo itself is quite thick and creamy. A little goes a long way. You can easily go wrong with the amount of shampoo used. My best advice is to use a little as below and add more when needed, depending on the hair thickness and length.

I cannot stress enough on pouring the shampoo on your palm and lather well before massaging onto your hair. The shampoo lathers up well but not overly foamy due to it’s thickness. The scent on the other hand is to die for. It smells so good!

Remember when I said you can easily go wrong with the amount of shampoo used? Well, it happened to me. I used too much on my first day and my hair ended up greasy and heavy. I reduced the amount and the same happens. For me this shampoo is quite tricky as I don’t have much hair on the top of my head. All my hair is concentrated from the mid section downwards. After a good 2 weeks of using this, I find that the shampoo is simply just too rich for my hair type and scalp. My hair weights down so badly that my fringe is so greasy and it’s a pain to manage. The rest of my hair length love this. Because of the formula to tame rebellious hair, my scalp is overly moisturized that it’s itchy most of the time. Now I’ve ended up with dandruff. It’s not a biggie because dandruff is easier to get rid off.

I think this shampoo suits those that have really really dry hair. I have no doubt that this can tame rebellious hair cause it really does what it claimed to be based on what it does for my hair haha! 😀

Liss Unlimited Shampoo is formulated with Oil Incell technology. A technology which cleverly mimics the hair’s lost ceramides. When this technology is combined with the addition of highly nourishing argan and olive oils , you get a shampoo that leaves hair smoothed, conditioned and gleaming with health.

Here is the ingredient list.

L'Oreal24
Liss Unlimited is really a complete haircare system that will help replenish and smooth even rebellious hair for a more manageable, frizz-free result. Therefore there is three types of different treatment for the home use. I’ll start with the rinse-off type 😀

L'Oreal25

Liss Unlimited Smoothing Masque (RM67/200ml)

I find that it is quite odd that there is no conditioner in this range. Then I realized it is because of the treatment products that acts as a conditioner. Therefore there is no need to a conditioner 🙂

Smoothing Masque is a great alternative to substitute to conditioner. It intensely nourish, repair and smooth  frizzy, unmanageable hair. This pampering treat is said to works in minutes, leaving you with super smooth, luscious locks.

L'Oreal26
The masque have this grape scent to it. But that’s not the uniqueness of the product. What’s unique is the fine shimmer particle in the masque itself. I like that it is not too dry in texture but the texture is just nice, almost like a conditioner except that it is more solid.

I’ve tried with and without using this masque. Although Smoothing Shampoo itself do gave me that softness and moisture but it’s a total different story when I incorporated in this Smoothing Masque. The masque changes the overall texture of my hair length. It doesn’t weights down my hair, not oily or sticky after rinsing but just pure softness and smooth hair. Maybe because I don’t apply this on the scalp so it doesn’t add unnecessary weight on my hair. No wonder this masque is treated as a conditioner!

L'Oreal27
Here is a good example of my hair length with just Liss Unlimited Smoothing Shampoo and Smoothing Masque. As you can see the shampoo gave me flat and greasy hair on the top of my head. The rest of my hair love this combination 🙂

L'Oreal29
L’Oréal Professionnel Liss Unlimited Masque uses its key technology, Polymer AR, to wrap the hair fibre with a special anti-humidity shield, keeping it smooth and glossy while stopping frizz in its tracks. Below is the ingredient list.

L'Oreal28

Liss Unlimited Smoothing Cream (RM60/150ml)

This new leave-in product is the first smoothing cream for a glossy finish and perfectly smooth with anti-frizz effect. Smoothing Cream is an innovative finishing for more brightness, smoothness and softness for the hair. It is enriched with Pro Keratin and Kukui seed evening primrose oils.

L'Oreal30
This leave-in cream is most probably my favorite product after Smoothing Masque. The texture is lighter than the masque but eventhough so it’s not very light either. It is still very creamy and thick. Just like the masque, I find shimmer bits in it. The only different is that the shimmer is more finer.

It is recommended to apply this cream onto damp or towel dry hair and then blow dry. For the first few usage I was so lazy to blow dry my hair. My hair doesn’t turn greasy at all but I think the result will be even better if I were to blow dry my hair :). If you are like me…lazy with blow drying hair every day, you can still use this leave-in cream. Just use moderate amount will do.

Liss Unlimited Shine Perfecting Blow-Dry Oil (RM60/125ml)

Last but not least, another favorite product of mine is this Liss Unlimited Shine Perfecting Blow-Dry Oil. You know how much of a fan I am with anything related to oil regardless for face, for body or for hair. It is a featherweight conditioning evening primrose oil that works on the most difficult frizz-prone hair, leaving a perfectly polished finish, even taming those rebellious hair.

L'Oreal33
Of all hair oil I ever used, this one is particularly more watery. One pump is too much for the whole head including length therefore I take my sweet time with dispensing lesser amount. If you ask me, half pump is still quite a lot even for my hair length. What I usually do is to slowly push the pump down dispensing drop by drop.

Surprisingly the scent of this product is not too overpowering. It is almost scentless on my nose. Texture wise is quite okay. Not too thick and oily. It doesn’t leave any oil residue behind as this oil dries down completely.

L'Oreal35
Here is my tame hair after applying Liss Unlimited Shine Perfecting Blow-Dry Oil. Usually I only apply this right before I leave my house. Basically this product gave me a piece of mind for the rest of the day knowing my hair will be smooth and tame.

L'Oreal36
Initially I was quite confuse with all three treatment. So I thought of sharing with you how I use it. Are you confuse with the three treatment product as well? Let’s make things simple. You can use either one, for example if you use the Smoothing Masque (that acts like conditioner) and you think that’s enough for you. Just let it be. All you need to remember is to use either the Smoothing Masque (wash off) or Smoothing Cream (leave-in) after shampooing your hair. If you think your hair is frizzy the next morning after you wake up, just apply some Shine Perfecting Blow-Dry Oil to tame those tresses. It’s what I usually do 😉

Do comment below if you need any further explanation. I’d be gladly to help 😀

    • Thanks MJ! You can grow your hair longer. Once you are tired of long hair, just chop it off! :). I prefer slightly over shoulder length. Longer than that would be too heavy 😉

  • Agreed with MJ. Nice hair ^^. Which would you suggest between the 3 treatment?

  • Hi there! I loved your review and comments. The only thing I have at the moment is the evening primrose oil. I’ve used it for a couple weeks and it has worked well but now as well as I have expected to. I have really long thick straight hair and I was wondering if you have any suggestions as to how much I should apply, where, and when. Sorry for being so troublesome! >< I would love it if you could give me any advice or any thoughts at all!
Thank you so much! By the way, I love your hair! <3

    • Hi Lianna! Thanks 🙂
I’ve not used evening primrose oil as hair oil before so I can’t give you the exact answer but if I were to gauge roughly, maybe apply on damp hair if you air-dry your hair or after styling, if you are into using hair dryer. I also like to use hair oil the next day before I go out to work. I highly recommend you doing that too 🙂
