Beauty Workshop Clarins

My 1st Beauty Workshop with Clarins

My very 1st beauty workshop and I’m glad it’s Clarins!

Last week I received a phone call from Clarins on inviting their new members to go for a workshop. It’s totally free of charge with door gift, light refreshment and of course loads of skin knowledge as well as their product usage and benefits knowledge. I always wanted to go for workshop but I was pretty much tied up with work and since I no longer have to do weekly magazines deadlines, I have the time to attend. Ohhh ya…the Monday deadline for next week is pushed forward to Saturday as Monday is the replacement public holiday for Labour’s Day.

I reached Amoda building parking around 10.14am and I received a kind reminder phone call to check if I had any problem locating their office. I was greeted by one of Clarins BA at the entrance and was guided to their training room thinking “am I the last one to arrive?”. Turns out I was the first one :). The workshop didn’t start at 10.30am because as you know Malaysian like love to be late. More than 10 people signed up or rather said yes to attend but to my disappointment most of them didn’t even show up! Why the heck would you said you will attend if you don’t even wanna go? You’re wasting so many people’s time and resources. I pitied Clarins staff as they called a few times to reconfirmed the workshop attendance and yet still many people was joking around with it. It’s your lost for ffk-ing. Shame on you!

I’m not sure what time we started the workshop though (I didn’t check) and I was paying lots of attention to the presentation.

The room display for the day. Initially I sat on the left section but later on changed to the back row facing the screen which would be more easier to see everything.

I choose to sit in front of the products basket so I can play around with it easier hehehe. There is also a pencil, mirror, hair clip, tissue paper, cotton pads and that was my sky juice with lemon slice and a information form which I didn’t fill up as I’ve done that a few times before at Clarins counter.

Some of the products which we will be using later on.

We started off with a short introduction by the trainer, Erinn and we watch a slide show on Clarins history, charity projects and moved slowly to products info and secret ingredients behind each star products range.

This is Erinn. She’s very friendly, funny, pretty and extremely well-verse in Clarins product knowledge.

I totally forgot to take pictures when we were hands on with the products. Sorry! I was too concentrating on the process.

After the hands on session, we treated ourself with some light refreshments and we were handed a door gift as a token for taking the time to attend this workshop. We got ourself a Clarins paper bag which inside we found a stripy green Clarins pouch with products. Here is the goodies.

I got a miniature HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase 15ml, Shaping Facial Lift 10ml, HydraQuench Cooling Cream-Gel 5ml and HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase 3ml.

Thank you so much Clarins for organizing and inviting me for this workshop. I hope to attend more of your workshop!

Review: Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection Tinted Version

Last Monday I redeemed a UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection Tinted Version sample pack from Clarins from last Sunday’s Sin Chew Jit Po newspaper. Although I had tried before at their counter but the demo was on the back of my hand. With a sample pack on hand, I was able to tried it on my face. I’m not gonna review the sample pack that I had. I’m gonna review the actual product which I bought. I bought their limited edition 50ml bottle. Their usual bottle is only 30ml and the LE 50ml will not be available after the stock finishes.

The first demo was at Metrojaya Mid Valley counter. I remembered telling the BA that even the tinted version is too sheer and will not be able to cover my acne scars. She assured me that it will but I kept telling her my skin condition is very bad and she looked at me weird lol. Second demo was when I redeemed the sample pack at Jusco Mid Valley. Same conversation happened again. Maybe my skin wasn’t that bad after all 🙂

Clarins UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection Tinted Version 50ml is with SPF40 UVA-UVB/PA+++ is retailing at RM198 and 30ml is retailing at RM158. There’s also a Neutral Version too which applies transparent.
It is 100% mineral screen, oil-free and anti-pollution. It appear sheer upon application but will set into a slight tinted colour and surprisingly my acne scars was not that visible a few minutes after application.

UV Plus HP Day Screen High Protection is now formulated with a unique antioxidant action thanks to an exceptional Cantaloupe Melon extract. Cantaloupe Melon is a natural fruit with valuable high-performance antioxidant benefits, from the region of Provence in France. It has the natural wealth of antioxidants which delivers great anti-aging benefits. It’s so great that we use cantaloupe melon extract as the key ingredient for the new UV Plus Day Screen High Protection SPF40. As a result? Skin remains fair, clear and youthful. GMO-free and non-hybrid, this variety is organically-framed and when compared with other types of melon, presents remarkable anti-ageing benefits.
Product Information
A cutting-edge formula providing high protection against UV rays combined with protection against pollution and free radicals responsible for dark spots and skin ageing. The incredibly matte, featherlight texture forms an invisible film on the skin. Suitable for all skin types, even the most sensitive.

Provence, France where Cantaloupe Melon originated

The English description on the box.
Red Clarins brand on the top of the cap.

The bottle’s nozzle. Be careful with the content spilling out as I carried the bottle with me the whole day and when I opened the cap for this photo, the content was oozing out!

Application:
Shake bottle well. Apply with light pressing motions from the middle of the face moving outward, then quickly smooth-on with fingertips. Can also be applied to the eye contour area. However, avoid contact with eyes

The fluid is delicate pink colour. This is somewhat similar to tinted moisturizer. The colour is very sheer. Don’t worry about turning pink though!

Here’s how the UV Plus HP is after spreading. It is very moisturizing and delicate enough on sensitive skin. However do check with Clarins BA on your skin condition beforehand.

Here comes the before and after photos. If you have any evil comments on my look or whatsoever, please keep it to yourself! I don’t need any criticism on my medication side effect.

Ok. Here’s the “before” without any skin care, UV Plus HP and makeup. Yes this is my bare face.

This is after I applied my daily skin care and UV Plus HP.

And this is after applying ZA 2-way foundation and makeup.

I am quite pleased with the result. Finally I can ditch BB cream and liquid foundation. I still can’t believe that this product really can cover up what was needed to be covered. It is quite pricey for a 50ml. Let’s hope Clarins will keep on selling the LE 50ml as it’s more worth it than 30ml.

Pros:
1) Double up as makeup base and sunblock. I ditched my BB cream for this!
2) One bottle although quite pricey but can really last long as you only need maybe 20cent for the whole face. I even use another 10cent on top of 1st layer lol.
3) Tinted version gives a glow on the face which I like very much.
4) Light-weighted, non-sticky formula which doesn’t clogged up pores.
5) Lightly scented which is not too hard on the nose.

Cons:
Couldn’t find anything I dislike with this! It’s a great product.

Disclaimer: This is not a sponsored review. I bought the product on my own.

FREE Clarins New White Plus HP 3-pc Sample

I requested for a voucher to redeem Clarins New White Plus HP 3-pc sample but I totally forgot about it until last week. Luckily there’s still stock available when I headed to one of the counter.

I was given Pearl-to-Cream Brightening Cleanser 5ml, Whitening Pure Aqua-Lotion 10ml and Intensive Whitening Smoothing Serum 3ml .

As the BA was friendly and chatty, she gave me 2 more additional sample!
The nice BA recommended Pore Minimizing Serum 3ml but I wouldn’t want to spend too much this month without knowing if it works or not so I was given this to try. I was also given Extra-Firming Tightening Lift Botanical Serum 3ml as I wanted to slim down my face due to medication.

Thank you Clarins!

Clarins Shaping Facial Lift & Pure and Radiant Mask With Pink Clay

Last week I popped in Clarins roadshow at KLCC and got myself 2 new products. My main concern is the water retention on my face due to medication.

I heard about the effectiveness of their star product; Shaping Facial Lift from a client of mine. One day, out of the blue moon I wanted to get this.

Clarins Shaping Facial Lift 50ml – RM225.

What this star product does.

Retailing at RM225. Kinda expensive but result matters.

Clarins star product is in a gold slim bottle.

The nozzle is no different from other skincare product in the market.

Also included in the box is their “Manual Auto-Lifting” Method booklet.

What was advised by Clarins BA is to use this method for effectiveness and not applying in sweeping or swirling mode like normal. This method will help with water retention.

Besides getting the Shaping Facial Lift, I also gotten this tube of Pure and Radiant Mask With Pink Clay in order to fulfill RM350 purchase limit for their Tier 1 promotion free gift set. Their BA highly recommend this as a deep cleansing mask.

Clarins Pure and Radiant Mask with Pink Clay 50ml – RM124.

What it does.

Do you know that Clarins product is Made in France? Well, I didn’t know that.

This product is retailing at RM124. Wow, I never bought or use such an expensive mask!

Although the mask contains pink clay, the tube is not pink at all. It’s green!

Instruction on how to use the mask. I must say, this is the easiest and hassle-free mask I ever use. I don’t have to worry about anything. Even if I pass the time limit it won’t burn my skin.

I like the protective seal on the nozzle indicating the tube is unopened and unused.

This is how it looks like. Pink of course 🙂

With RM350 purchase and above, I received a 5-pc gift. The gift set consists of:

1) Gentle Foaming Cleanser With Cottonseed – 20ml
2) White Plus HP Gentle Brightening Exfoliater – 5ml
3) White Plus HP Whitening Pure Aqua-Lotion – 50ml
4) Shaping Facial Lift – 10ml
5) White Plus HP Whitening Moisture Day Emulsion – 5ml

As I was interested with their hydration product, I was given HydraQuench Intensive Serum Bi-Phase 3ml to try (kinda pricey) before purchase.
