Make Up - Lips Maybelline Review: Make Up

Review: Maybelline Baby Lips Limited NY Fashion Edition #Protecting Berry

Right after Maybelline Malaysia Facebook page posted the latest Baby Lips flavors; Cherry Velvet, Mango Pie and Mixed Berry. . . I dropped by Watsons KLCC to purchase one. I choose Mixed Berry but weird enough my tube said Protecting Berry. It’s NY Fashion Limited Edition. I’m always tempted with the word “limited edition” phew.

What makes me choose Maybelline Baby Lips #Protecting Berry? To be honest it’s the packaging! Second is the flavor and third is the affordable price which is RM10.90. I’m a sucker for pretty packaging lol.

The tube is just like any other lip balm tube available in the market. Did I mention that I love love loveee the packaging? The lip balm color of Protecting Berry is in light peach. Something which I’m looking forward to see rather than plain white.

Simple! Just twist the balm up and apply onto lips! For me I like to apply a layer before applying lipstick. I also will apply this lip balm onto bare lips in between and as well as before sleep. I like waking up in soft lips!

Here is how Baby Lips color on the back of my hand. It’s transparent.

In terms of moisturizing, yes it does work for me. I find this more moisturizing than Hada Labo Lip Moisturizer. And the berry scent is not too overpowering for me.

1) Affordable for everyone, event students and teenagers.
2) Striking color packaging.
3) Very moisturizing.
4) Scent is acceptable and not too overpowering.
5) Wonderful for dry chapped lips.

Are you kidding me? Definitely yes!

Make Up - Eyes Maybelline Review: Make Up Watsons

Review: Maybelline NEW HyperSharp Liner

I jumped onto the 60% discount sales bandwagon from Watsons yesterday and came home with these! I whatsapp Monica in the morning about Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover and she asked me a favor to help her to grab 2 bottles as she’s at her hometown.

(1) 2 bottles of Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover 70ml – RM6.76 each after 60% discount for Monica
(2) ZA Ever Brows #BR 21 – RM10.36 after 60% discount
(3) Maybelline HyperSharp Liner – RM23.80 (New product!)

Along with this I also grabbed the new product from Maybelline which is their highly raved HyperSharp Liner. To be frank I’m not a Maybelline, L’Oréal or Revlon fan when it comes to waterproof mascara or eyeliner. I had bad experience years back. But I’ve been reading reviews on this new liquid eyeliner and it sounded good. Although the reviews available are just a handful but I was sold.

Maybelline HyperSharp Liner – RM23.80
100% Smudge Proof, Water Proof!

It’s light weighted with simple gold and black packaging although I secretly hope that the cap is made from more sturdier good quality material. Anyhow I love the superfine 0.05 mm tip!!

As the piece is totally brand new, I drew this swatch 3 times on the back of my hand.

I waited for it to dry and I did a water-running test! As you can see the swatch on my hand show no sign of fading or smudging.

Next test. I dabbed and wiped dry with a tissue paper. Still no sign of fading or a slight colour transfer on the tissue. I’m amazed.

Then I dabbed some Maybelline Eye & Lip Make-up Remover on a cotton pad for the next test. . . removing it!

After 8 times of gentle wiping, I got the eyeliner totally off from my hand. With harder wipes I think you can get it off by 3rd or 4th time.

I get too carried away with using it until I realise I drew a thick line! Gosh my eye looks HUGE.

You got to try this to experience it. At only RM23.80 retail price from Maybelline, this is certainly a worthy buy or you can say. . . a worthy try!

BB Cream Maybelline Watsons

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream #02 Natural

Last week I spotted a new BB cream by Maybelline and I bought it. Read here!

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream #02 Natural – RM16.90

Back of the lil tube. Look familiar? Read more below for the comparison with Maybelline Clear Smooth Mineral BB Cream #Fresh.

What is does and description. Also similar huh.

The nozzle. I like that it’s small as the BB cream is kinda watery. I wouldn’t want to squeeze more than I need 😉

BB cream at the back of my hand. I was disappointed as it’s dark for my skin 🙁

This is how the colour is after spreading the BB cream. The colour just dissolve and became transparent.

Now. What is the different between Clear Smooth Mineral BB Cream with Clear Smooth BB Cream?
Obviously one is with the word “Mineral” and one is without kekeke. Just kidding. *Ehem* In fact it’s true. Clear Smooth Mineral BB Cream is with micro-minerals while the new Clear Smooth BB Cream is just a normal version. Read my previous post here!

Price wise. . .is nearly the same. Mineral version is about RM2-RM3 more expensive than the one without mineral. Well, comparison from retail price of course. When both BB cream is on sale, the price is still RM2-RM3 different. That is normal as mineral makeup is always a lil pricier than others.

Packaging. . .is the same. Both is in the same tube shape. Both is in blue but different shade of blue though.

Content. . .is the same. Both is in 18ml tube.

Shade option. . .is the same. Just one shade available. Mineral BB cream is in the shade called “Fresh” which the normal is in “02 Natural”.

Shade. . .is not the same. Mineral is whiter while the normal is darker which will turn to slightly transparent/natural after spreading.

SPF. . .is the same. Both is with SPF26/PA+++.

Effect. . .just the same! Both claims on the 8-In-1 Benefits. However there’s a slight changes with the description. But it’s the same to me.

Here’s the picture comparison.

Maybelline Clear Smooth Mineral BB Cream & Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream.

Same o’ description at the front. Font size is slight different la lol.

Description at the back is identical.

Design also the same.

And yes. You might have guessed it. Nozzle is also the same.

The famous 8-In-1 Benefits against the new 8-In-1 Transformer. Still the same!

Something which is not the same. This is how both BB cream shade looks like before spreading. Both BB cream shade is different. I think it’s good as previously many people complaint that they have no shade to choose from. For me the Mineral BB cream shade is perfect for me as my 2-way foundation is darker so I prefer a ghastly ghostly BB cream. I think the shade 02 Natural is too dark for me 🙁

Comparison after spreading the BB cream!

I’ve tried the new Clear Smooth BB Cream. I like how it is invisible after application but my skin look dull the whole day. It definitely doesn’t brighten the skin like it claimed. I still like the Mineral BB cream on my skin. Oil control wise is worse than Mineral BB cream. The new one just doesn’t work for me. I wouldn’t repurchase this BUT I’d still repurchase Clear Smooth Mineral BB Cream. I’m on my 2nd tube now and I doubt that I’d change anytime soon as the price is very affordable and good too. But I guess many people would be happy with the new BB cream from Maybelline as the shade would mostly suit Asian skin tone. Although I don’t like it for my skin, I still think this is a good product with great price.

Asience BB Cream Maybelline Tsubaki Watsons

Watsons Haul…Again

My mission on yesterday’s trip to Watsons is to buy shampoo. Initial plan is to get Tsubaki and I ended up grabbing Asience as well. I absolutely love love Asience line.

The haul. . .

Maybelline Clear Smooth BB Cream (NEW release!), Tsubaki Damage Care Shampoo & Asience Shine Therapy Shampoo.

Tsubaki Damage Care Shampoo 220ml – RM16.90

As the shampoo is from Japan, the description is in Japanese so the new sticker description in English is replaced.

What it does and how to use.

Bottle was in a special shape so does the cap too.

I’ve been using Asience line of products before in gold and green version but not the pink version. I’ve been waiting for the line to reach Malaysia and finally it does! I love the gold and green line especially the gold line so I can’t wait to try this new collection! But I only picked up the shampoo and not the whole range.

Asience Shine Therapy Shampoo 220ml – RM14.90

The bottle shape is the same with their other 2 lines.

Shiny description label on the front top bottle which I find very useful when choosing the right range.

What it does.

Finally the cap!

My free L’Oréal shampoo are finishing soon. So I’m not gonna use this new shampoo before that.

Maybelline Revlon Watsons

Anger Shopping

I had an argument with my brother on Sunday and I just couldn’t be in the same house with him so I drove out and went to Watsons Kajang for some shopping. I’ve been itching to buy a few lipstick and I couldn’t make up my mind at KLCC.

There was a Maybelline promotion stand right at the entrance. It seems that Maybelline has just launched a Limited Edition Water Shiny Diamond Diamonds lipstick. The colour choosing was easy for me as I just looked at the 2 model pictures and grabbed the colour I want!.

Watsons currently is having a promo of buy any cosmetic and get a selected cosmetic at just RM17! And I had my eye on Revlon ColorStay Soft & Smooth lipstick.

Revlon ColorStay Soft & Smooth Lipstick #245 Creamy Coral – RM17, Maybelline LE Water Shiny Diamond Diamonds Lipstick #302 – RM24.90

The colour that I chose.

The tube is same but with diamond-like design ring in the middle.

Maybelline LE Water Shiny Diamond Diamonds Lipstick #302. The colour may look very pink fresh from the tube but its not. This lipstick is with shimmery beads which may be a little drying on the lips after application.

Here’s the swatch. It’s quite watery with shiny wet look. However applying seems a little rough.

Revlon ColorStay Soft & Smooth Lipstick #245 Creamy Coral is without shimmery beads.

Here’s the swatch. I must say I was WOW-ed by how smooth and easy it is to apply! The swatch above is only just a swipe. The colour may look a bit too dark but in fact it’s just a bit touch of orangey.

I’m loving my new lipsticks! The 2 lipsticks are totally different in every way but I like Revlon’s more. I remembered I bought the same lipstick but different colour before and it was so great that I bought another one a few days after that. After so many years I still like the lipstick 🙂
