Review: Skin Care SK-II Skin Care - Whitening

SK-II GenOptics Spot Essence and Aura Essence: Insurance for Future Spots, Revealing The Inner Aura

SK-II GenOptics
I admit. I am a whitening fanatic. I am afterall a typical Asian when it comes to skincare but a Caucasian when it comes to makeup. I want a brighter, fairer skin that I am comfortable walking out of the house without any bits of makeup on my face.

SK-II launched a brand new whitening skincare range recently and I am one of the few lucky one to get the product in advance to give it a whirl. The GenOptics Whitening Range was developed specifically to target the effects of UV damage, both on the inside and out while improving the skin’s radiance at the same time. You can say this range is sort of like your skin insurance against future spots from UV exposure damage.

GenOptics Spot Essence (RM470 / 30ml, RM685 / 50ml, RM920 / 75ml)

SK-II GenOptics Spot Essence
The new GenOptics revealed a brand new specially designed auto-fill dropper. This make one’s life so much better. It is designed to give user one full pipette drop for the optimal dosage for best results. Now, I was told that I have dehydrated skin and that this might be dry for me so I was advised to only use it on spot area. That means any sun spots I have and acne marks that needed lightening. Since I am using it on spot areas, I do not use the whole pipette. I used probably half of a pipette and emphasis the application more on my upper cheekbone (sun spots) and jawline (acne marks). Surprisingly after using it for close to 4 weeks, I do not find this to be drying at all. Initially I applied it on my upper lip area as I was having breakout and I want to lighten the acne marks and my skin feels so tight and dry. Later on only I found out that it is not the GenOptics Spot Essence that was causing it. It was my acne gel!

GenOptics Spot Essence are designed with breakthrough science of Spot-Resist Complex and the power Pitera™ to reduce dark spots from within with precision. I managed to keep acne marks from darkening and existing marks are also lighten up tremendously.

GenOptics Aura Essence (RM555 / 30ml, RM790 / 50ml)

SK-II GenOptics Aura Essence
My favourite of the two is of course the GenOptics Aura Essence! I think this is everyone’s favourite too 🙂 . It smells absolutely amazing and relaxing.

Same with GenOptics Spot Essence, this GenOptics Aura Essence are in the brand new auto-fill dropper. This one I really use a whole pipette drop. No cheating. Because it is a whole pipette, the milky essence does takes some time to fully absorbed. The essence is re-coded with PITERA™ infused GenOptics Aura Complex to reduce the skin’s hidden and visible spot formations to reveal a spot-less aura glow. As a result? Skin looking radiant from the inside! This essence I find is quite rich, suitable for matured skin as it does not dries out the skin. The texture somehow reminds me of the R.N.A. Power Essence.

Instead of showing you the typical before and after, I went for SK-II Magic Ring skin check because GenOptics are all about controlling future spots from emerging to the surface and inner aura. Magic Ring is the only way I can tell if the skincare works, if my skin really glow from within.

SK-II Magic Ring
Here is the Radiance Enhancement “Cloud Meter” score obtained from SK-II Magic Ring.

Before embarking on GenOptics whitening range, my Brightness score is 63. After 3 weeks of using, my Brightness score went up to 74. This Magic Ring skin check was done WITH MAKE UP ON. Which means my matte makeup could have covered some of the brightness. I also sneakily went back to SK-II counter for a check after 2 weeks WITHOUT makeup and guess what is my Brightness score? 81!

SK-II Magic Ring Cloud Meter
Ever since I started using GenOptics, I am beginning to like my bare skin. I went out without makeup more often now. This is me taken just after 1 week of using GenOptics, before I had massive monthly hormonal breakout on the bottom half of my face *sigh*

SK-II GenOptics Before and After 1 Week
Below is me without any makeup on after 2 weeks of using. This was the day I sneakily went to have a Magic Ring check without makeup. Look at how glowy my skin is 😀 . And of course you could still see acne spots on my chin here and there but who cares! My skin glow!

SK-II GenOptics Before and After 3 Weeks
You would not thought I would end this review without any Before and After right? Here it is the Before and After of using GenOptics whitening range for 3 weeks. If only I did not have breakout on my chin and upper lip, then it would be perfect lol.
