It’s All About Love – Vanity Trove *New* Malaysia February 2013 Edition Review

After waiting for days I finally received my Vanity Trove February 2013 edition! Many of us are receiving the trove late because the shipping is divided to 2 batches. And I was in batch 2. A little bit sad cause all bloggers had gotten theirs on Tuesday. But all is good now.

Let me refresh your mind on Vanity Trove. First of all it’s not new in Malaysia. Back in December 2011 Vanity Trove was established in Singapore and 2 months later they launched Vanity Trove Malaysia whereas they shipped the trove all the way from Singapore for RM60. It’s not that expensive considering they are the only one oversea that are willing to send to Malaysia. My first trove was February 2012 edition and I subscribed up till April 2012 edition before I decided to stop subscribing temporary. I made the right choice cause it’s getting worse since then.

When I found out someone IN Malaysia took over Vanity Trove Malaysia and will be having an office locally, I was relieved. It’s about time someone took over and curated a trove just for us Malaysian.

Back to my trove. It’s exactly the same as previous. I like this kind of “drawer” type of box. The box is shrink wrapped like previous without any bubble wrap. I still think bubble wrapping the box is essential in preventing the box from dents and cuts.

IMPRESSIVE Wonderbox January 2013 Valentine’s Day Edition Review

This post was meant to be up earlier but I was down with fever for the whole of last week. In fact the January Wonderbox reached me when I was having high fever. I woke up 3 days later to find a parcel placed beside my bed side. I finally had the strength to open it end of last week. A day or two before I unbox mine, I took a few sneak peek at other blogs on the content. And I was happy with the Valentine’s theme box!

Wonderbox never fail to present a perfectly “ribboned” box. If there’s such word :). As January box theme is Valentine’s Day the ribbon this time is in red. Love it. Gets me into the mood.

Based on what I’ve read before unboxing my box I think this month’s box is the same across all. I believe all of us received the same box with the same content for January.

And here’s the content! I must admit. Wonderbox is making me more and more anticipated for their monthly box as they had improved so much since their debut box. I love this month’s box because it’s mostly makeup and not skin care. I don’t need anymore skin care lol. I’m particularly happy with one specific item which I’ll tell you what later on 🙂

Modbox January 2013 Edition Review

I had received a few email request for Modbox review last month. Unfortunately I didn’t subscribe to their December 2012 box so I approached Modbox with an intention to purchase 3 boxes for my friends and readers for my small lil gathering last Sunday. Why I choose Modbox for the girls? Well, simple. Modbox is the only beauty box that I haven’t review yet in the blog so it’ll be a great surprise for the girls to get something they didn’t expect to. Unfortunately again their December 2012 is already long sold out and we came to a conclusion to prepare January 2013 box but I need to know the content in advance because all 3 girls have different preference on what they like. Cut the story short…Modbox is unable to give me the boxes just in time for the gathering. I don’t blame Modbox for this because the crew had been very supporting and helpful with my request. One thing we couldn’t control is the stock arrival to prepare for the boxes. There will always be next time:)

Another reason to wanting to get the 3 boxes in advance is because I wanted to do a review on it before passing to the girls. And I was thrilled when Modbox offered to send me one box with absolutely no commitment and string attached. But I wanted to do review. So here’s what I think of their 2nd box. Absolutely no stress in drafting this review.

The parcel arrived with Gdex as their choice of courier. It is bubble wrapped properly so the box arrived in superb condition. No dent or whatsoever. The light purple box is slightly smaller than other beauty boxes in the market. I like the hard glossy box which is similar to Fabulous Finds. This is the type of box I like!

As I’m a first timer, Modbox crew slot in a welcome note in my box. I see this welcome note in everyone’s December 2012 box too. It’s properly and nicely handwritten down.

So, How Many Beauty Boxes in Malaysia again?

It’s confusing I know. One minute we have no beauty box subscription available in Malaysia and the next thing you know we have eight with one discontinued (I’m still sad!) so we now have seven beauty boxes subscription locally. What? Seven? Is it that much already? The answer is yes and yes =). Many people I know are quite clueless who is who and what do they offer so I’ve compiled a summary on all for your easy reference.

The list is going to be a work in progress which means I’ll be updating the list as and when needed. Do check regularly on the list just in case I’ve added a new subscription without you realizing lol.

MIVVA Beauty Box December 2012 Debut Box Review

A surprise parcel arrived my house last Saturday afternoon while I was taking a short nap. My mum signed and received the parcel for me from the PosLaju postman but I was already awaken by the loud horn and Hello. You see, I’m quite close with the PosLaju postman so when he saw my name on the parcel he do not dare to delay the delivery. He knew my parcel are always urgent lol.

I woke up after the postman left and find the parcel in the living room. At first I couldn’t figure out who is the parcel from (been receiving too many parcel lately hehe) but judging from the box shape I immediately knew it’s MIVVA Beauty Box.

I know all of you have been waiting very patiently for this post that was put on hold due to family affair. So here’s MIVVA Beauty Box debut box! LOVE THE DUO PINK COLOR BOX and simplicity of the box design!

Oh ya just in case you’re wondering…the box is bubble wrapped securely before slotting in a PosLaju courier plastic.

It’s really heavy. When I lifted up the box lid I found a box FULL till the top!

Wonderbox December 2012 Christmas Edition Review

ALERT! SPOILER AHEAD! TURN AWAY IF YOU DON’T WANT TO KNOW THE CONTENT BEFORE RECEIVING YOUR BOX

Yesterday I was handed by hand my December 2012 Wonderbox which I subscribed earlier. I’m among the FIRST to get it so you can imagine how excited I am. I don’t think so I can make it pass the waiting period and the courier because Christmas boxes are presumed the best box or month and partly because I’m impatient hah!

From far I can see striking red ribbon. As you know or might not know…one of Wonderbox signature is the ribbon decoration on the outside of the box. You can read about my October 2012 box review here. The theme of the ribbon this time is of course Christmassy! I’m liking what I see.

Let me tease you again with the ribbon :). I think this personal touch for Christmas is lovely. I like the fact that Wonderbox team put on their thinking hat to make this December box something different.
