Make Up - Face Review: Make Up RMK

Review: RMK Base Make Up Duo – Make Up Base & Liquid Foundation #103

A week after my full makeover with Adrian Sin from RMK, I headed to Isetan KLCC to make my purchase of their best seller; Make Up Base and Liquid Foundation. I thought of separating the review of both item but after using the Make Up Base for the first time 2 weeks ago I think it’s best if I combine the review of both product. It does make more sense isn’t it 🙂

First up. Make Up Base. This highly rave RMK Make Up Base is retailing for RM135 for a 30ml bottle. The bottle is heavy as it’s made from thick frosted glass.

As RMK products is Made in Japan, everything is written in Japanese on the bottle. If you have a few bottle of different RMK products you might mistook the wrong one if you ever do your make up blurry. It nearly happen to me on one morning when my mind is at elsewhere. So now I double check before pouring the content out. The ingredient list is on the right picture just in case you’re interested.

I think you might have read this elsewhere about the dispense nozzle. And yes I’m one of them which feel uncomfortable about it. Bear in mind this doesn’t come with a pump nor you can get the pump head separately from RMK. There’s nothing. Nil. Zilch. You just have to get used to it. This reminds me of MAC liquid foundation many years ago which doesn’t comes with a pump and many people is complaining.

Here is how the Make Up Base is on my hand. As you can see from below picture it dispense out in a light beige emulsion. After spreading the base is transparent on skin. Not visible on skin. There’s no silicone feeling too. Extremely light on skin and the best part is it’s not sticky at all. It contain Silk Essence which will smoothen your skin texture and moisturize your skin at the same time. Normally after I applied this base I’d let it sit for a few minutes before proceeding with liquid foundation.

Picture says a thousand words. I believe you are more interested to know how does it looked like on my face right? Here ya go. Do take note the position of where I took the picture and lighting is set at the same setting. I wouldn’t say it does nothing for me as it does even out a bit of the skin tone on my face and it brighten my face just a lil bit too.

Second product to feature in today’s post is another highly recommended product by RMK and their fans is none other than Liquid Foundation. RMK Liquid Foundation is also 30ml and it’s retailing for RM155. It comes in 11 shade to choose from. My shade is #103 which is the same that Adrian applied on me at my recent makeover experience. Read here.

Same with Make Up Base the label at the back of the bottle is also in Japanese. The shade numbering is what differentiate this liquid foundation with makeup base 🙂

Oh yea. The dispense nozzle is the same too. What I do is I pour a little on the back of my hand bit by bit to avoid wastage. And it’s more hygienic too.

The first time I saw how dark #103 is I kept thinking how dark my face is going to be. But since Adrian said this is my shade I have no reason to doubt it. The best picture to show you how wonderful this liquid foundation is as below. Look at the freckles on my hand before I blend the liquid foundation. After blending the liquid foundation it’s more natural on me and it’s not dark at all. What’s needed to be cover is covered.

P/S: Sorry ya my hand is a bit dry that day lol!!

You’d get that dewy complexion when this liquid foundation is applied after the make up base. I choose Liquid over Creamy as I prefer medium coverage. This liquid foundation gave me a natural looking coverage. It’s light, moisturizing, cover pores, redness and acne marks. It is also waterproof towards water and sweat which is a plus point for me as I’m outdoor most of the time. The last thing I want is melted makeup on my face!

Here is the before and after applying liquid foundation. I took the “after” picture right after I applied liquid foundation. Normally my face would look cakey even before setting with loose powder but here my face looked moisturized and dewy too.

Lastly a full face shot with light makeup done.

  • i am so tempted to buy this primer & foundation. are they still your favorites? If not, what are your current fav primer & foundation?

    Reply
    • I still like the primer but not as much as before as I like matte skin now. The foundation is still my favourite! 😀 . It’s hard to tell which is my favourite primer as I’m currently using a few. If I have to choose one it would be BareMinerals Foundation Primer. Favourite foundation are Maybelline Pure.Liquid Mineral (discon), Physicians Formula Youthful Wear Spotless and most recent current fav Diorskin Star Studio Makeup Spectacular Brightening Weightless Perfection (a gift from a friend) 😀
