Body - Hand Cream EVE LOM Review: Bath / Body

Review: Dynamic Duo Hand Care – EVE LOM Hand Cream + SPF 10 and Cuticle Cream

You know my beauty routine has always been overwhelming right? I’m already so lazy with body lotion or cream what more hand care. I do like hand cream (a lot) but taking care of my hands properly are pretty much errr neglected? I was told many times before that you can tell a woman’s age by looking at her hands. It’s creepy to think of it so I like looking at mine, just in case my hands betrayed me lol. I never thought I would need a proper hand cream until a few months ago when both my hands started to look dry. It doesn’t help when I have a bad habit of peeling the skin near my fingernail when I’m nervous or impatient. Yeap, that’s my bad habit.

When EVE LOM said I should try their hand care duo, I thought why not! Take a stroll to the nearest EVE LOM counter and you’d find that their product selection is not as confusing as others. Having said that they actually have two product for the hand and cuticle. Hand cream is common yes but cuticle cream? Not so.

Balmain Body - Fragrance Event Review: Bath / Body

The New Ivoire by Balmain; A Desire To Return To The Past, While Telling An Infinitely Contemporary Story

A stranger with quicksilver sensitivity

I find that the story behind the creation of the original Ivoire…fascinating. When I first read it I can almost imagine how it is for Pierre Balmain at that time. It happens towards the end of the seventies. Pierre Balmain – the designer crossed the path of a sovereign beauty as she descended the Paris Opera staircase draped in a pale silk gown. And Balmain dedicated Ivoire to her.

One evening in 1979, an unknown but extremely elegant woman inspired Pierre Balmain to create a perfume named Ivoire. He would ascribe to her the features of a woman with her eyes hidden under a broad-brimmed hat and dressed in a silk gown with a double strand of pearls around her neck. An unforgettable image.

The original Ivoire is a scent with strong personality which was considered advanced for its time. In short it was a very aldehydic fragrance borne by fruity harmonies that was combined together.

Now let’s take a look at The New Ivoire by Balmain which was previewed to the media in January 2013.

Body - Foot Spray Review: Bath / Body The Body Shop

Review: Keep Smelly Feet Away with The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray

Not many people are comfortable speaking about smelly feet nor have I ever encounter a product review to prevent smelly feet unless I google for it. I don’t have smelly feet or should I say “Hong Kong feet” issue. I do like to wear pump a lot to work. With our humid hot weather it’s unavoidable if the feet or shoe smells a bit especially if you are someone who like to insert shoe insole like me. Unless you don’t sweat wearing a pump whole day! The main reason why I like shoe insole is because I want to protect the inner part of the shoe so that it will look just like brand new. This idea came along when I find myself taking off my shoe a lot whenever I visit a client’s office. No one like to see a nice shoe on the outside with bad inner condition. At least I don’t.

Many years ago when I was still managing near to 40 retail sales person, one of them is particular about her feet. Everyday when she come to work she would take her sweet time spraying her feet with The Body Shop Peppermint Cooling Foot Spray before putting on her socks. I remembered asking her if the foot spray is really that good. From where I was standing I could smell a refreshing peppermint scent and it’s quite pleasant on the nose. She told me it’s really cooling and her feet stay dry and free from smell by the end of her shift.

I didn’t know what took me so long to get a bottle. Perhaps it’s the price. I couldn’t justify paying RM39.90 for a foot spray. Other brands are selling half the price the max and drugstore ones are RM10+ only. But I finally bought a bottle a few weeks ago after I finished my other useless foot spray.

Body - Fragrance Issey Miyake Review: Bath / Body

Getting Into the Joy and Dynamism of the World of Vivid Pleats with Parfums Pleats Please Issey Miyake

I still vividly remember my first fragrance launch last year and it was the Parfums Pleats Please Issey Miyake. The brand Issey Miyake is not new to me. Most of my female friend loved the brand for it’s signature feminine scent. All I can remember is the soft but lasting fragrance and it’s tall and slim bottle design.

I would say Pleats Please is a breakthrough. Just when you think you know all about Issey Miyake…Pleats Please prove you wrong. It took the world to a whole new level with it’s exquisite design and concept.

Issey Miyake is known globally for his signature pleats- a look that went around the world in more than 80 colours. The designer Issey Miyake is known for his conceptual purity and elegant simplicity. His work exudes exuberance, dynamism, movement, and colour; it is contemporary yet timeless. Today, a great new adventure begins in the annals of Issey Miyake fragrance, continuing to forge a powerful bond with his fashion.

PleatsPlease1
Why the name Pleats Please? Let me bring you on a lil walk through on the concept of “Pleats”.

‘Pleats’ was introduced into ISSEY MIYAKE in 1989, and has been developed every season thereafter. By 1993, it was ready to be launched as a complete and stand-alone brand and appeared as PLEATS PLEASE ISSEY MIYAKE for the Spring-Summer collection.
This is a line that is positioned to embody one of the most fundamental concepts of Issey Miyake – where the true value of design lies in its integration into the everyday life and comfort of the wearer. This is clearly demonstrated in the development and evolution of traditional techniques of processing and of pleating material into a highly functional modern product – light in weight and easy to wear and handle. This revolutionary concept has won the respect and admiration of women throughout the world and contributed to the growth of an iconic brand – an ingenious fusion of creation, technology and business.

Body - Soap Filthy Farmgirl Review: Bath / Body

Mini Review: Filthy Farmgirl Cardamom Rose Love Cake & Cheeky Ginger Citrus

I’ve been keeping two Filthy Farmgirl handmade soap for months now. It’s too lovely to be used but eventually I know I’d need to use it anyway.

All Filthy Farmgirl soaps are 100% natural and vegan friendly soaps without detergents, surfactants, sulfates, artificial scents, colorizers, petroleum products or yucky stuff of any kind. What catches my attention is the catchy name and tagline.

Mine are the minis if I’m not mistaken. It’s about 2cm thick each. The base of both my soap is so different according to the flavor. One is clear for the whole soap while the other one is with murky, filling base. Must be from the soap ingredient.

Body - Shower Oil L'Occitane Review: Bath / Body

Review: A Luxurious Way of Pampering in the Shower with L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil

“What is that you’re using? Smell so nice!”. That is the exact word from my mum everytime I stepped out of shower after using L’Occitane Almond Shower Oil. As I have too many products in the bathroom, my mum doesn’t know which is THE ONE that smell this good.

I only use a few product from L’Occitane namely Foot Cream, Repairing Shampoo + Conditioner, Shea Butter Extra Gentle Soap, Almond Shower Scrub and my favorite – Almond Shower Oil which I will repurchase again and again. It is so good that pampering will never be complete without it.

I purchased Almond Shower Oil for RM95 back in July. It only comes in one size which is 250ml. Sometimes you can spot the refill pack of 500ml or sometimes if you’re lucky 500ml bottle with pump.

What L’Occitane claimed is Almond Shower Oil will transforms into a lavish, softening foam that gently cleanses, leaving a satiny softness all over the body. It is rich in Almond oil and nourishing lipids. This shower oil can also be used for shaving, allowing the razor to glide smoothly over the skin. This international customer favorite, which leaves behind a delectable scent, is suitable for both men and women.

This 250ml of Almond Shower Oil is in a plastic bottle with a push cap. Although I have no problem at all dispensing with this type of bottle but I still prefer if it comes with a pump. More convenient I would say.

I’m quite heavy-handed. I kept on pouring and pouring as this smells so darn good!
