Most people would be on leave today as it’s another public holiday tomorrow for us here in Malaysia. So I thought why not blog about something light. I think most of you are not in the mood to read long product review :D. Hope there’s no Monday blue for those that are working today.
I’ve been wanting to do a “What’s In My Bag” for so long now but didn’t get a chance to because (1) my bag is small, old and dirty, (2) there’s a lot of junk in my small bag and (3) there’s nothing interesting in the bag but junk. LOL! Ever since I got myself a proper bag as a birthday gift to well…myself, I have then rearranged the content of my bag. Now is the right time to show you my not-so-interesting edition of What’s In My Bag ;). I refer this post as Version 1 because who knows maybe I’ll do another one and another one in the future? 😀
My current bag is Michael Kors Jet Set Travel Multi-Function Tote in Medium size which I bought just early October 2013. The reason why I choose this bag is because of the quality and spaciousness in the tote as I need a bigger bag to bring to work. I am dealing with digital sales so most of the time I’m out and about with a MacBook Air, iPad and of course my planner which I can’t live without. I don’t plan to put weight in the bag with the MacBook Air (wouldn’t want to break my new bag lol) but I think I can live with iPad in it.
I like to keep my things tidy in a bag so I have only 4 main items – Michael Kors pouch, Dior pouch, Brigitte Bardot Lancel pouch and Marc By Marc Jacobs wallet 🙂
At the beginning I had a Clarins bag organizer in the bag. All was good until last Saturday where my shoulder was aching from the weight. I know it wasn’t the bag organizer that was contributing the weight but there is nothing that I can eliminate from the bag so I decided to ditch the bag organizer since there’s nothing much in it anyway and just store the bits and pieces in Estée Lauder by Michael Kors Pouch in Pewter. Honestly I’ve not seen the pouch for so long that I’ve forgotten how gorgeous it is! There is no Estée Lauder brand name written on the pouch. Even the leather tag and product tag inside the pouch is all from Michael Kors. The pouch itself is actually much more lighter than the Clarins bag organizer. The metal hardware with leather tassel on the zipper is a key ring which means it can be removed whenever I feel like it.
I was in a dilemma with this gorgeous pouch. A part of me wanted it to be as a lunch pouch and a part of me just wanted it to be as a pouch in the bag. I like that it’s quite spacious on the inside. In the pouch I store things like pen, Clarins card holder, Frozz mint, tissue and office keys. Okay, this pouch is so under utilized haha!!
Another essential pouch is the Dior half moon grey pouch. This serves as a quick makeup touch-up pouch and this pouch has been in my bag for months. I don’t usually bring makeup in my bag and that habit is slowly adapting. It’s quite dangerous for me to have this pouch because I can over-stuffed with lipstick without me realizing. I have thought of combining the stuff in this pouch to the Michael Kors pouch but the Dior pouch would be a waste later so what the heck 😀
Here I have my favorite Burberry Lip Velvet Lipstick in Peony Rose No.302 which is the broken lippie, RMK Lip Brush for the Burberry, Watsons Green Tea wet tissue, Gatsby Powdered Oil Clear Paper, Laura Mercier Lip Pencil in Naked, Clarins red mirror, Mentholatum Maxilip Anti-Ageing Lip Balm in Caviar and Estee Lauder Double Wear Moisture Powder Stay-In-Place Makeup in 04 Warm Vanilla and Kanebo Coffret D’or Natural Clear Liner.
As for the Brigitte Bardot Lancel pouch, I used it to store receipts which will later be clip-on to credit card bills. It’s really dirty so I wouldn’t want to gross you out hehe 😀
The thing about having a spacious bag but not being able to put much things in it because the leather itself is already heavy. I do wish I can put more things in the bag without adding the weight and that seems quite impossible. On the bright side, it is a good practice for me not to store too much junk in the bag 😀

Are you preparing for a run? hahahaha. You have everything in your bag except cloths. Can just bring your bag for a runaway. haha. btw the Clarins pouch is so cute! I really like your MK tote bag!
Aiyoh. Can’t run with emergency essential dear. Unless I lug around daily essential :D. The Clarins pouch is last year’s birthday gift. MK tote bag is a good investment 🙂
I like your WIMB post! I don’t think i can live with carrying around so many pouches, even though it makes everything so much more organized. I just throw whatever i need into my bag and go out, lol. The MK pewter pouch is really pretty! 😀
Thanks Laura! :D. I prefer to keep things in pouches as it will be easier to find things. If I don’t…I will need a lot of time searching in a bag this huge. I just throw everything in if it’s smaller shoulder bag like my previous Coach :D. I have another MK pouch in Gold haha!

What’s in my bag or what’s in my makeup pouch is always my fav topic to read. Must kpc a bit ^^. I imagine you to have more stuff in your bag. Surprisingly it is so little?
Welcome back dear! Lesser items in the bag because the bag is very heavy :). And I refrain myself from turning the bag into junk lol
So many pouches, very systematic. HAHAHA I prefer bags with more pockets because finds it so troublesome to unzip from the pouches just to take out some stuffs.
Just 3 and each with different function so it’s easier for me to remember which item in which bag. Maybe will combine Dior with MK. Will see how. I on the other hand will get confuse with pockets in the bag hehe 🙂

Hey Aby. Long time didn’t see you. Yea. Most people will like to see other people’s bag haha. I know I like it 🙂 Pouches are more lighter than bag organizer in my case. Unless I source for a thinner bag organizer.
I saw the gold MK pouch before, very ncie also >_< omg, i feel like getting it somewhere lolol. between, fiona dear still have purse and hp in your bag, will it be heavier and heavier~? 😀 I wish to organize my bag like yours, very neat and tidy ^__^ but the only thing is I might forget which pouch I put my thing in , then it will be a trouble for me already *LOL
Yea, there are 3 colors. This is 2011 version. In 2012, Estee Lauder also came out with similar design, except it’s softer and with no MK logos on the pouch body. The Marc Jacobs is the wallet. Phone doesn’t make the bag heavier. It’s just a phone. If you throw everything in a bag is even harder to find your things right?
i think you are right, sometimes i really cant find my things although my bag is with compartments xD gonna start reorganize my bag with pouches inside now :DD

Hehe you are so neat and everything is in their pouch, nicely compartmentalized! Though the bag is big, I agree with you not to bring too many things in it.
Actually I have the thought of throwing everything (without the pouch) into a mini Anteprima tote bag. But this MK tote bag is without zip so I feel insecure. Thank goodness the base is hard type 😉
If the bag is quite spacious without compartments, I think your method of organizing your items works very well. Besides it works well for you and make you feel organized and neat! Haha, I also adopt almost the same method to compartmentalize my bag. I have 3 pouches of different sizes – 1 for wallet and handphone (hehe, this one is the pink floral one that I got from you and love it to bits), 1 for light make up items and 1 for keys. Compartmentalizing them makes it easier to get the item that I want quickly, e.g. car keys. Putting the items by mix and match in the respective pouches also serve a purpose, e.g. car keys are not mixed with wallet and handphone to avoid scratches, light make up deserves a pouch so that they are not contaminated with things that I touch a lot like keys and wallet.
For your bag, I think a bag organizer might not work that well as it will not fit nicely. The bag is spacious 🙂 Besides, having different pouches which are all so beautiful will cheer you up too. your pouch collection is extensive and unique. I love all of them! In fact pouches are my weakpoints because I love them so much. So these days I need to stop myself…Was eyeing the Sulwhasoo quilted one 😛
Oh my gosh Jennifer. You are so reading my mind! That is exactly why I have 3 pouches in my bag. I totally agree on what you said i.e keys are not to be with wallet and handphone nor makeup. My point exactly LOL. You are still using the pink floral pouch? Wow! But it’s a spacious pouch to just hold wallet and handphone in the bag 😀
You are also right on the bag organizer. I was staring at that tiny little bag organizer for a month before ditching it. Too small.
P/S: I’m gonna sell my Sulwhasoo pouch. I don’t collect pouch now hahaha!

I’m afraid I win the trophy for having the worst bag in town but I’m cool with that. I dump everything into it and I mean EVERYTHING. It’s really more of a garbage bag. I don’t need to go for brands when it comes to bags for the reason that I cannot see myself baby a bag. I want a bag that I don’t have to babysit and would not be afraid to beat up.
My only requirement is that it is big. I like big, big totes. Your MK bag is functional, minimalist and I really like the colour.
Some of my favourite bags have been those free non-woven eco shopping bags. I just need to it not have a hole in it and away I go. Thanks for the fun post, Fiona.This post brings out the voyeur in me haha
Nope. This is not edited. It’s exactly what’s in my bag now :). The old bag contain too many lipstick lol. I know how it feels to baby a bag. It’s so tiring to be worrying over petty things. I baby my Coach shoulder bag at the beginning. Later on I just couldn’t be bothered. Next bag target is to find something similar to this MK one but lighter.

anyway i love your bag! have been eyeing the one in Cadet colour.
The Lancel pouch is from previous bag. I don’t know where to put so I just chuck it in. It’s kinda useless now except to create a barrier between MK pouch and March Jacobs wallet as the color from the MK pouch will transfer to the mirror surface of my wallet. So sad 🙁
The Cadet Blue?? OMG! That color is gorgeous! The other day I was at Clarins Parkson Pavilion and the BA told me they like Cadet Blue too 😀
This bag is sooooo niiiiccceeeee *wishing I had one too!* But like you said, the downside of having a leather bag is that the leather itself is heavy, so maybe not sesuai for someone like me who loves stashing almost everything (important) in her bag.. huhu
This bag is a good alternative for LV Neverfull MM. I think that LV bag will snap on me in less than 1 week cause the strap is so thin haha.

The bag strap is thin so I keep things minimal otherwise it’s heavy.
