This, I did not expect. It wasn’t until I was handed a bottle of the Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water just before Christmas that I found out this was going to be made available at Sephora. I would expect this to take longer to reach us but nope. It came far more earlier than I predicted.

The Smashbox Camera Ready BB Water has been one of the most highly raved product when it was launched in the U.S. It is a BB (Blemish Balm) water aka foundation-like that has built-in primer water technology. If you are a fan of the Primer water, you know this is going to be your next favourite product. Smashbox said the technological feature is their breakthrough system that suspends pigments in H2O. This means, you get a BB that gives you a demi-matte finishing that hydrates your skin throughout the day, thanks to Photoset Polymers, taken from medical grade liquid bandage technology. Now, I do not know about you but all this sounds too techie for a beauty freak like me lol.

CATRICE All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder: My absolute favourite setting powder of the whole wide world

I cannot believe I have not tell you about my absolute favourite setting powder of the whole wide world and it is super affordable too!

I go through setting powder very fast. And I own a lot at the same time, rotating each of it everyday so that I could used them up on faster rate in order to buy new one. Recently I find it very hard for me to use other powder than CATRICE All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder. To be honest, I still cannot find anything that gives me the same finishing and coverage as this CATRICE one.

I like my base product to give me a matte finishing. Everything have to be matte as usually I would be out the whole day so I need to ensure my face stays oil-free for the rest of the day. Of all matte settting / finishing powder I have tried, so far the best is still CATRICE All Matt Plus Shine Control Powder.

L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation: One great mattifying foundation but clings onto wrinkles and dry patches

How many of you could not stop buying foundation? Raise your hand! I am one of them but I try to control. So far I have succeeded and has been doing a good job in an attempt to finish up my current foundation stash. Having said that, I do have the tendency to buy makeup products that are not available in Malaysia. Among the things I want is two foundation, one from L’Oreal and one from Maybelline. The one I really really want is the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation.

I was lucky to stumbled upon an Instagram seller that has the L’Oreal Infallible Pro-Matte Foundation ready stock. It is almost impossible to find seller that will stock up ready stocks so after debating with my own devil in the mind for a few hours, I bought it. I have heard that finding the right shade for this foundation is a bit tricky as there are 12 shades in total. This foundation is only available oversea so the shades are more or less customized to their skin colours and I’m an Asian! I must admit I was terrified. I usually go for the lightest shade but this time, the lightest shade is too pinkish for me so I went for 103 Natural Buff, which is the 3rd lightest shade my seller has.

It comes with an applicator with soft cushion tip which also works well in blending in color on the lips for the most natural ombre effect instantly. This is not my first time seeing such soft cushion tip design as I have used something similar for the eyes from Anna Sui before. But Anna Sui one was a pain to use so let’s not get into there.

Bourjois Air MAT: Create a perfect complexion with this airy light, matte, full coverage foundation

Believe it or not, I find that matte foundation are hard to get here in Malaysia despite the fact that we are living in a hot and humid country. Yes there are a small selection of matte foundation available but the choices are very limited. I’ve own half if not all matte foundation I can get my paws on. Some are too matte that it dries out my skin from the inside and I ended up with more oil secretion on my face. I have a “hard to please” face people. So hard to please. The Best Concealer: And it’s your foundation!

We have all been through the pain of choosing the right foundation or foundation shade. Now that you’ve found your perfect foundation, what’s next? You find yourself in need to find a concealer shade for blemish or spot concealing to match the new foundation. So the hunt begins again. There is no such thing as perfect concealer shade that matches your foundation shade. Perhaps you are lucky, then yes. Otherwise mixing a two or more shade helps. Other than that, you keep praying 😀

I started using concealer just a shy two years ago where I only sleep for 4 hours. I have no issue with finding a concealer for my under eyes concealing as I always use a light shade to conceal and brighten at the same time. Yes I do the large triangle thingamajig on my under eyes 🙂 . Then I started to get cray cray over flawless foundation face and so I’m into spot concealing, except that mine wasn’t really spot (ain’t got patience for that!) but more of an “area” concealing. But let’s just call it blemish concealing 😛
